KYOTO DAY TOUR FROM OSAKA: A DIY ITINERARY
Osaka is a city that appears to look forward to the future; Kyoto seems to bask in its glorious past. Osaka is bustling and electric; Kyoto is charming and rustic. Regardless of their differences, the two are well-connected in many ways. Most tourists flying to Osaka often find themselves in Kyoto at one point on their trip because not only do they complement each other, they are also easily accessible from each other.

Day 2: Osaka, Japan. Trying out the Osaka Wonderloop Bus Tour and River Cruise. Was it worth it?
Vlog 2 is all about our experience with the Osaka Wonderloop Bus Tour and River Cruise. We did not get a chance to try the subway pass as we found that the bus was sufficient to get around the city.

CHEAPEST Way to TRAVEL from Kyoto to Osaka by Train | Japanese Travel Vlog
There’s a reason why the Asian island nation of Japan is such a popular tourist destination. It’s incredible in every sense of the word. The country is safe, clean, organized, and efficient despite its massive population. The food is out of this world and the culture is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. And depending on where you go, you can find yourself surrounded by hyper-futuristic technology and neon lights, traditional temples and thousand-year-old buildings, pristine natural environments, and just about everything in-between. Come along with me as I experience it all for the very first time!
My Film Making Kit ►
After spending two amazing days in Kyoto, it was already time for me to leave. And while I wish I’d had more time to explore more of this beautiful and traditional city, there was a lot more to come on my trip through Japan, so I was also excited to arrive in my next city. Come along with me as I show you the cheapest way to travel from Kyoto to Osaka by train!
Kyoto and Osaka are very close to each other, and I was able to get a train ticket to Osaka for only 560 Yen, or $5.03 U.S. After buying it, I had to get to track 60 at Kyoto Station and make my way through the crowd to get onboard. Once onboard my train, I had to stay very quiet; in Japanese etiquette, it’s considered rude to talk loudly on public transportation. Always learn the etiquette and culture before traveling to a new country. No one wants to be that one rude, uninformed tourist!
After a smooth, 40-minute ride, I arrived in Osaka! My next order of business was finding out how to get to Dotonbori, the most popular area of the city and the place where I’d be staying. As I attempted to find my way to my next train, I made my way through huge crowds and passed lots of shops and restaurants. The walk to my platform was long, but I was able to save money by taking a train (230 Yen/$2.07 U.S.) instead of a taxi to my Airbnb; a taxi would have cost more than ten times that!
Four stops and six minutes later, I was where I needed to be. I passed by more restaurants and shops on my way out. These big, Japanese train stations are like cities in and of themselves! They’re so busy and there are so many things to see and do there. After exiting the station, I asked for directions to my Airbnb—never be afraid to ask for directions if you don’t know where to go—and set off to the place I’d call home for the next couple of days.
It took me a while to figure out how to get the key, used it to get to the elevator, and took it up to my unit, 1304. From my balcony, I had some incredible views of Osaka!
What a fun but intense journey! As you can see, traveling from Kyoto to Osaka is very easy and can be extremely inexpensive if you make the right choices. I hope this helps you out if you’re traveling through Japan on a budget! Speaking of travel experiences, I wasn’t content to stay in my Airbnb for the rest of the night. Instead, I headed out to explore the amazing world of Dotonbori street food…but that’s for another video!
I hope you enjoyed following my journey from Kyoto to Osaka! If you did, please give the video a thumbs up and leave me a comment below. Also, please subscribe to my channel if you haven’t already and I will see you in the next travel food adventure!

Night Bus Review - JR Seishun Dream from Tokyo to Kyoto and MK 302 from Kyoto to Tokyo
Here I will review my experience in taking night buses from Tokyo to Kyoto and back.
This is meant to give travelers that might be considering riding a night bus a feel for what it'll be like.
This is from the evenings of June 12th and 13th, 2009.
I took the JR Seishun Dream overnight bus Tokyo-Kyoto (5000yen) there.
And I took the MK 302 overnight bus Kyoto-Tokyo (6000yen) back.
The JR bus I found by going to Tokyo station and buying from the Yaesu exit Expressway bus terminal.
The MK bus I found online using Rakuten.
I've made a video for how to do that that I'll upload later and put a link here.

Diamond Princess Cruise Vlog - Osaka and Kyoto Japan
Don't forget to check out reviews, tips and photos visit our wonderful sponsor:
Hey Cruisers,
It's time for another port day on our Diamond Princess Asia Cruise. It is Osaka Japan day on our 12 night cruise. During this cruise we'll cover 2800 nautical miles and visit Tokyo, Shimizu, Osaka, Taipei (Keelung), Hong Kong, Nha Trang & Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Vietnam, and Singapore.
Once again we start off this cruise vlog bright and early. Jet lag still has us up before dawn. We had the beautiful Atrium and the Lobby bar essentially all to ourselves for morning coffee. After that we were off to meet Moe, our guide for Osaka (we booked through triplelights.com). Our primary goal for the day was to visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine. After some brief introductions, we were off on a whirlwind of trains, tickets, and walking. Once in Kyoto, it was a short walk to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. There are lots of charming little shops and vendors along the way. The walk is crowded, but pleasant. After arriving at the shrine, Moe kept us informed and entertained. You'll see me doing things like the water purification ritual, and making a wish. It was all fascinating and fun. Next we were off to explore the seemingly endless torii gates. It does get extremely crowded (and a bit noisy), but everyone was polite, and friendly. After Fushimi Inari we hop back on another train, and head to the Yasaka Shrine in the Gion District of Kyoto. Then we head out on foot for lunch. We stop at a nice little place, and you'll get a good look at our lunch selections. Our next stop is Osaka station, and a visit to Pokémon Center. Our son had a ball there, but be warned, the checkout lines are super long. Our final stop before heading back to the ship was Shinsekai area. We had a great time just walking around and exploring. Today was another great day on our Princess Cruises voyage to Asia. Thanks for joining us for this cruise vlog as we travel to Japan for our Diamond Princess Asia Cruise. We've got much more Asia cruise adventures ahead. We'll have some Asia cruise tips, more cruise vlogs from Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Singapore.
