Kyoto Station Japan - Futuristic space where you can feel traditional Japanese beauty
Kyoto Station Building, directly connected with Kyoto Station, is large commercial facilities including a hotel, souvenir shops and restaurants, a department store, cultural facilities like a theater.
It is large atrium style with a huge glass and metal roof and attracts many tourists from all over the world.
You can walk on the roof-ceiling corridor. That is very exciting place.
The big stairway is inlayed with LEDs, and the seasonal design unique to Kyoto is colorfully illuminated.
This station is a terminal reaching to surrounding areas in Kyoto City, and many commercial facilities, such as the Kyoto Tower and the Kyoto Station building, are located around it.
Kyoto Station Building is the largest and most fun station in Japan.
I recommend you to spend a relaxing time here.

JR Kyoto Station (JR 京都駅), Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto is the Ancient Capital of Japan. It contains many centuries old temples and shrines. But there is nothing old about the JR Kyoto Station (JR 京都駅) though, it is a newer construction, aesthetically pleasing and is an architectural marvel. In other words, the station itself is a sight seeing spot in Kyoto. Enjoy!
Kyoto Train Station Walkthrough. Kyoto, Japan
Kyoto Station is the most prominent transportation hub of Japan”s ancient capital of Kyoto. It is accepted as one of the largest railway stations in the world and considered to be the most striking.
The giant futuristic glass structure replaced the old Kyoto station, which burned down in 1952. The new Kyoto Station building was designed by the architect Hiroshi Hara and was constructed to celebrate the 1 200th anniversary of the foundation of Kyoto as the Heian capital.
Hiroshi Hara (原 広司 Hara Hiroshi, born 9 September 1936) is a Japanese architect and author on architecture. His major works, including Kyōto Station, the Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, the Yamato International building in Tokyo, the Sapporo Dome in Hokkaidō, and other important structures in Japan, have earned many awards. With a doctorate in engineering, he was a professor at the University of Tokyo until 1997, and has held an emeritus position since that time.

KYOTO (京都市) JAPAN 2016 : Fushimi-Ku, Gion (祇園), Shijo Avenue, Kyoto Station
FUSHIMI-KU // 伏見区
Fushimi-ku (伏見区) is one of the eleven wards in the city of Kyoto, in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Famous places in Fushimi include the Fushimi Inari Shrine, with thousands of torii lining the paths up and down a mountain.
GION (祇園) // SHIJO STREET (四条通)
Gion (祇園) is Kyoto's most famous geisha district, located around Shijo Avenue between Yasaka Shrine in the east and the Kamo River in the west. It is filled with shops, restaurants and ochaya (teahouses), where geiko (Kyoto dialect for geisha) and maiko (geiko apprentices) entertain.
The most popular area of Gion is Hanami-koji Street from Shijo Avenue to Kenninji Temple. A nice (and expensive) place to dine, the street and its side alleys are lined with preserved machiya houses many of which now function as restaurants, serving Kyoto style kaiseki ryori (Japanese haute cuisine) and other types of local and international meals.
Many tourists visit Gion hoping to catch a glimpse of a geiko or maiko on their way to or from an engagement at an ochaya in the evenings or while running errands during the day.
SHIJO STREET
Shijo Avenue, which bisects the Gion district, is a popular shopping area with stores selling local products including sweets, pickles and crafts. Gion is also known for the Gion Matsuri, the most famous festival in Japan.
KYOTO STATION
Kyoto Station is a major transportation hub in western Japan, and it is housed in one of Japan’s biggest buildings. Besides the station itself there are numerous shops, restaurants and other facilities in the Kyoto Station Building.
The north side of the station is called the Karasuma side. This side faces onto Kyoto Bus Station and Kyoto Tower. You will find the main Central Gate (also called the Chuo Gate) for the JR train lines here.
The south side of the station is called the Hachijo side because it faces onto Hachijo Street. This side of the station faces onto shopping malls and hotels. In the Hachijo side of the station building you will find the Shinkansen platforms and Kintetsu Kyoto Station.
