Tricopter recovered from crash into lake Bullen Merri Camperdown Raw onboard footage
Fast forward to 43 seconds... My Tricopter went down on Thursday Australia Day 26th Jan with GoPro, FPV gear and GPS. We drove back to Camperdown early Sunday morning with a home made grappling hook. This is the Raw footage recovered from the SD Card in my GoPro camera without the waterproof housing. I was fling FPV when suddenly the back motor dropped out. After fishing it out of the water it became evident that the cause was a failed rear propellor. This is absolutely amazing !!

Lake Bullen Merri
Lake Bullen Merri is a brackish crater lake near Camperdown in southwestern Victoria, Australia. The lake has a maximum depth of 66 metres, with a clover leaf outline indicating that it was probably formed by two overlapping maar volcanoes. The lake is depicted in work by Eugene von Guerard. The edge of the lake was marked by a stone in the late 1800s by James Dawson; from this and von Guerard's painting, it can be deduced that the level of the lake has dropped considerably in the last 100 years.

Trout Fishing at Lake Bullen Merri : August 4th-5th 2012
The Preston Northcote Angling Club fish Lake Bullen Merri.
I have never been to this place before and I have to say - wow! All the trout caught were over 1kg but the fishing wasn't easy. Basically whether you are trolling or bait fishing off the bank you have to put in long hours, probably 3 hours per fish. No one tried fishing at night through and this is what I'd like to try next time I go back. Interestingly, the boys on the bank did almost the same as the trollers which proves the Kenny theory of boating - you don't need one in fresh water! Baits that worked from the bank were worms, power bait, gudgeon - basically I think waiting is the name of the game and bait is not critical.
The flat head gudgeon and minnows that live in the lake are supposed to be the best bait. You catch them in a bait net at night with some pilchards in it but even fishing for these little buggers was not easy. Between us we had 6 nets outs between the boys and not everyone caught any. The best bait for them was old fish carcasses. Cat food + sardines which I tried were useless. I will be trying a 6m bait net next time.
I interviewed two locals who gave me completely conflicting reports. One said gudgeons at night under a float were the only way to catch fish. Another guy with two trout caught over a 3 hour morning session said he had only ever used worms from the bank during the day!!

Camperdown Botanic Gardens
Sunny day in Camperdown Botanic Gardens. Designed by William Guilfoyle in 1888-89. Located in Camperdown, Victoria, Australia. Previously home to the only statue that portrays Robert Burns with his dog, and is the only one to have been based exclusively on the earliest known portrait of Burns, painted from life, by artist Peter Taylor around 1786. The statue is now located in the Corangamite Shire Councils Civic Centre.

Camperdown DH run
Lake Gnotuk Downhill run in Camperdown, Victoria, Australia. It is essentially a trail used by cattle to get up and down the hill so it's rough and well worn. Only going slow because of high wind and rain but gives you a clear idea of what it's like, very rough and fast. Enjoy!
