A walk through Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna Italy around Lake Como

Today we visit the tiny towns of Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna around beautiful Lake Como. This is the third largest lake in Italy, has glacial origin and is one of the deepest in Europe. Home to many celebrity holiday homes around the lake including George Clooney.
It's perfect for lovely strolls and family day trips. It's also a great place to rent a boat and do some paddling!

A Walking Tour Of Bellagio on Lake Como in the Italian Lakes. A light-hearted morning walk around the town.
Our self guided walking tour of the beautiful town of Bellagio on the shores of Lake Como, Italy. Looking at the old church, the main square and the narrow medieval streets of the town centre.
Sitting in the centre of the lake the drive to get there is quite interesting, it’s not the widest or straightest of roads. The best way to get there is by ferry from across the lake.
This was the Lake Como town which inspired by the Bellagio resort in Las Vegas, we’ve been to both and they are VERY different experiences.

Lake Como in Northern Italy is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It is very popular travel destination for tourists from all over the world. Bellagio is famous historical town by the Lake Como. Here you can find lots of restaurants to experience traditional Italian food and wine. Restaurant Selice Blu - Blue Willow is located in Bellagio. Chef Luigi Gandola is the second generation of this family business. He is proudly continues family tradition of Italian cuisine. Day Trip to Lake Como or Lago Di Como, Italy from Milan. We took a train from Milan Central Station to Varenna Esino. We had plans to go to Bellagio too but because of bad weather, all ferries were canceled.
We highly recommend staying for at least 2-3 days to explore all the nearby beautiful villages in the Lake Como region.
Lake Como is situated in the Lombardy region, Northern Italy. It is the third-largest lake in Italy and the deepest in Europe.

Hi & welcome back to my channel,
or more importantly the second part of my Lake Como Mother-Daughter Vlogs. If you followed us last year you will have seen us explore stunning Lago di Como for the first time. This year we came back, because we fell in love, and we wanted to continue to explore everything that Lake Como has to offer. If you haven't watched part 1 to this year's Como Vlog you can find it here:
In this vlog (part 2), we continue to explore Bellagio, which is where we have our airbnb. We visit Villa Melzi of Bellagio, and end up eating at easily our favourite new restaurant in all of Lake Como called Trattoria Baita Belvedere which was recommended to us by our airbnb host. We had to take a provided shuttle bus up to the restaurant that was 5Euros per person to go up and come back down again, and it was worth it! The view from so high above Bellagio was honestly breathtaking. It is a family run trattoria and you eat very well there. They have typical dishes of Lake Como as you can see from everything we ate, so I highly recommend this restaurant, as the food, staff and location were incredible! The next day we decided to take the ferry to Menaggio to visit for the first time this cute little hamlet on Lake Como. It was very scenic and did not have too many tourists about which made it quite peaceful as well. Then we decided to visit Varenna and have a little lunch aperitivo at Bar Il Molo again. It was memorable for us last year, so we went back, and had a lovely lunch. We ended our trip in Bellagio, walking around and taking it all in. No matter how long we stay in Lake Como it just isn't enough as it is so peaceful, and easily one of our favourite spots in all of Italy for its unparalleled views.

LAKE COMO || A Day Trip
We wanted to spend a night around lake como but due to a limited time we decided to just do a day trip which gave us enough glimpse of the beautiful lake and its surrounding towns.

From Milano Centrale train station we took an hour train ride to Varenna-Esseno for only 6 euros.
It’s a beautiful little town just northeast of the famous Bellagio.
We then took a 15 minute ferry ride to Bellagio passing other amazing lakeside towns.
After arriving at Bellagio we were greeted by an elegant atmosphere where people just relax by the lakeside and champagne on their hand. Bellagio is also called the pearl of the lake. We definitely agree and the picturesque alleys and the site of the emerald colored lake did not disappoint us.
Next up we rode another ferry down to the City of Como which the lake was named from. It’s a bigger community than bellagio and sits at the southwestside of the lake near the italian-swiss border. It is surrounded by green ridge hills resulting in unparalleled natural scenery.
We then rode a furnicular that took us up to a little mountain community over looking the City of Como. It was an experience seeing the lake and the city.
As the dark quickly creeped in we made our way to San giovanni station to catch an hour train ride back to Milan.
Exploring lake como in just a day is doable if you have a limited time when you are around Milan. But if you really wanted to embrace the atmosphere and relax by the lakeside you should spend at least a night in one of the towns around the lake. But for us seeing this stunning lake just a short while considering our limited is enough. And if given a chance we would definitely go back and spend more time.

Lake Como, Italy
Lake Como has been on the top of my travel list for years. An opportunity came up to go last minute and we decided we couldn't say no. The dream of driving a wooden boat on the lake had me wanting to head to the airport immediately when the email came in!
Thanks so much to Luxottica for bringing us on, what turned out to be, an incredible two day journey. And on top of that, my dream did come true....!
A Water Taxi Ride From Bellagio On Lake Como, Italy
Taking a water taxi from Bellagio on Lake Como to a restaurant in Sala Comacina for lunch. Taking in the beautiful views of the Italian Lakes
On the way we look at some of the beautiful villas of Lake Como including the Villa Carlotta and gardens in Tremezzo. Villa del Balbianello which can be seen in the bond film Casino Royale and the Villa la Cassinella which you can rent for about €164,000 a week!
We end up at the lakeside restaurant Locanda La Tirlindana, Sala Comacina where we have lunch and fight off the ducks.

Day Trip to Lake Como from Milan | ITALY VLOG #3
Hubby and I take a relaxing day trip to Lake Como from Milan where we explore the towns of Varenna and Bellagio.
In Milan, we visit Duomo Milan and enjoyed an Aperitif for dinner, an amazing free flow buffet!
I also climbed the stairs all the way up to the rooftop of the Milan Duomo.

One cannot ask for a more appealing setting. Lake Como spills from the Swiss Alps to the Italian foothills, and is only a short train ride from Milan. Along it's shores we find beautiful palaces and delightful towns. We visited most by ferry. Bellagio is a fun, somewhat commercial city. Varenna is a quieter village with equally convenient access to all the major ferries and sights. While on the lake, be sure to see:
