In the early 90s, Davos became famous for hosting the World Economic Forum, an annual winter gathering of international politicians and financiers who represented a transnational elite. Together with the nearby town of Klosters, Davos offers a wide variety of winter sports activities, and summer hiking trails, set amid stunning Alpine scenery.

Davos, Switzerland - Hike to Strelapass

Pius App planned a perfect day for a hike on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. From Davos, Switzerland we took the Parsenn funicular up to its first section stop at Höhenweg where we began our hike. We passed by Schiahorn and on to Strelapass where Markus App operates the Strela-Pass restaurant. After a light lunch we hiked back down to Pius’ Schatzalp. Our highest elevation was about 7,700 feet (2,353 meters), and total hike time was about 5 hours including our stop at the restaurant.

Virtual Reality trip to Davos Klosters

Passerbies at Europaallee in Zurich could explore the wonderful mountains of Davos Klosters via Virtual Reality. They took a seat on a real chair lift, had a short descent on skis and enjoyed the warm atmosphere of the famous mountain restaurant Jatzhütte. Their 3D experience was shifted to a 4D experience by using a fan to simulate wind, by melted cheese to simulate real fondue and by using a radiant heater to simulate the heat of the sun. The almost real experience became real in the end when ex Miss Switzerland Dominique Rinderknecht sat next to the participants as they put off their VR glasses. We inivite you to watch the video. See what participants saw and enjoy their reactions realising that virtual reality and reality were not too different.
