4K | Trip to Kezenoy-am Lake | Chechen Republic (Chechnya). Russia
Kezenoyam (Chech. Kyozana Iam, Eisen Ӏam) - a dammed lake on the border of the Vedeno district of the Chechen Republic and the Botlikh region of Dagestan. Refers to the basin of the Sulak River. Hydrological nature monument of regional significance. Located in the belt of subalpine meadows. It feeds on flowing streams and groundwater. There is no surface runoff. The water level is subject to strong fluctuations, both seasonal and perennial (within 6-8 m). In summer, the water in the lake warms up to 17-18 ° C. The thickness of the ice cover in winter is 60–80 cm. The volume of water is 62 million m³. Altitude - 1854 m. Surface area - 1.7 km², of which 1.5 km² - within Chechnya.
Archaeological finds and historical and architectural structures, such as national (Chechen) battle and residential towers, including the unique medieval castles of Aldam-Gezi, shrines, crypts, ancient burial grounds, some of the earliest mosques in Chechnya, even Chechen auls Kezenoy, Khoy, Arsoy, Sada, Buni, Majoy and others, located around Kezenoyam, also have the results of ethnographic expeditions to the ancient settlement of this region by Chechen taipes.
Alpine lake Kezenoyam is the largest lake in the Chechen Republic and the Greater Caucasus. It is located on the border of the Vedeno district of the Chechen Republic and the Botlikh region of Dagestan, on the southern slope of the Andean ridge, at an altitude of 1869 (1822) meters above sea level. The surface of the lake is 2.4 km². Water and educated valleys of two small rivers - Kharsum and Khukha. The collapse, damming the valley, occurred from the southern slope of the Kashkerlam ridge, below the confluence of these rivers. The reason, most likely, was an earthquake.
A natural dam located in the natural parts of the lake reaches a height of more than 100 meters. The basin of the lake has steep slopes and a flat bottom. The depth of the lake reaches 74 m. The length of the lake from north to south is 2 kilometers, from west to east - 2.7 kilometers. The maximum width is 735 meters. The coastline is 10 kilometers long. The lake nourishes and absorbs the keys. The main role in the nutrition of the lake is the small river Harsum, which flows into the lake in its northern part, and Kauha, which flows into the eastern part. The lake may have underground flow through the surrounding limestone rocks.
On April 18, 2015 in the Vedeno district of the Chechen Republic, the Kezenoy-Am tourist-recreational cluster was opened on the shores of the lake of the same name. The sports and tourist complex includes a hotel complex with 58 rooms, luxury cottages with a total capacity of 40 people, a VIP cottage, a restaurant, a bathhouse, a sports complex of 1200 m², sports grounds, a boat station, a pier and other facilities.
The project (2016) includes the construction of a cableway, a conference hall, an ethnographic-style restaurant courtyard, and a children's entertainment complex. It is also planned to develop and implement horse riding, walking, cycling and quad tours, the construction of a tent city.

4K | Сity Grozny walking tour| Chechen Republic (Chechnya). Russia
Grozny (Chech. Sölzha-GӀala - named after the river Sunzha (Chech. Sölzha) + gӀala “city”) is a city in the North Caucasus, in the south of Russia, the capital of the Chechen Republic, the center of the Grozny district. A city of republican significance, it is not part of the district, forming the city district the city of Grozny. The city is located on both banks of the Sunzha River. The city of military glory of Russia (since April 6, 2015).
One of the largest cities in the North Caucasus: second in terms of area and third in terms of population (297 137 people in 2018, which makes up 20.39% of the republic’s population).
Name of the city in Russian:
• 1818 - December 30, 1869 (according to the new style - January 11, 1870) - the Grozny fortress
• December 30, 1869 - the city of Grozny
• In the Chechen language: Sölzha-Gӏala
• In 1998-1999, the administration of the unrecognized Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, which controlled the city, renamed Grozny to Dzhokhar-Ghala (the city of Dzhokhar) in honor of the separatist leader Dzhokhar Dudayev.
In 2000, the Head of Chechnya, Akhmat Kadyrov, when they started talking about moving the capital to Gudermes, which was less destroyed by the war, said that Grozny would remain the capital of Chechnya. According to him, the whole history of Chechnya is closely connected with Grozny, and therefore the capital cannot be moved.
On October 1, 1991, the Nationwide Congress of the Chechen people under the leadership of Dzhokhar Dudayev announced the division of Chechen-Ingushetia into the sovereign Chechen Republic (the capital is Grozny) and the Ingush Republic as part of the RSFSR.
During the First Chechen War, battles fought around the building of the former Republican Committee of the Communist Party (Presidential Palace) in Grozny, January 1995. At the end of 1994 and at the end of 1999, the city was stormed by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, in August 1996 - by the combined forces of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. During all these events, the city was severely damaged - it was practically destroyed; and including the central area of the city was completely destroyed.

TRAVEL CHECHNYA Lake Kazenoi with Chrystal Callahan
4K | Tsoi-Pede Сity of the dead Chechnya | Most Inaccessible sight in Russia
Tsoi-Pede (Chech. Tsayn-pheda - “the settlement of the deity”), “city of the dead” - a funerary structure in the upper Malkhistsky Gorge. One of the largest medieval necropolises in the Caucasus. Included in the list of the most inaccessible sight in Russia.
There are two pagan altar pillars in the city, protective solar symbols, crosses and solar spirals on the walls, guarding the entrance to the city of the dead. Behind them are scattered 42 grave-crypts (malch-keshnash), covered with a gable slate roof, many have rather deep niches in front of the hole. Crypts of Tsoi-Pede date from the XIV-XVIII centuries. Above the crypts rises a battle tower (Kash bӏov), decorated with mosaics: a figure of a man, probably St. George, is laid out on the gray background of the wall with light stones. His arms are outstretched and his legs are apart.
Behind the barrier wall attached to the tower, there was once an aul, on the southern outskirts of which, at the very edge, there is a second battle tower, which controlled the passage to the gorge from Georgia. 46 objects of cultural heritage of various preservation are located in Tsoi-Ped: 42 crypts, 2 pillar-shaped sanctuaries and 2 battle towers.
