Australian Wonders...Coomera Circuit, Binna Burra, Lamington NP QLD
Sat 15th June 2019 - Trail Running the Coomera Circuit at Binna Burra, Lamington National Park QLD.
Wikilocs Trail:
16.13km run in 2hrs 38mins. We had a 10min stop for morning tea at the top of some falls.
A simple video showing this amazing Class 4 trail. Very beautiful and scenic to run alongside the serene creeks and waterfalls and its atmospheric sounds. The guys surprised themselves that they could run that distance.
Shot this footage using the Insta360 One X camera. Video quality not as clear as I'd like it to be most likely due the the low light in the rain forest most of the way. However it is very stabilized considering I was shooting the footage whilst running. Also, this little camera allows you to pick and choose what footage angle gets shown - after you shoot the action! I tried demonstrating that with a couple of shots where you get to see the same thing from another angle...which is something other cameras cannot do. Very interesting, and still learning.
Get out there and explore this big amazing world God has given us, and share the adventure. Enjoy the video.

Binna Burra Short Walks, Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia
Lower Bellbird Track - Starting 3.7 km along the Ships Stern Track, this track winds its way through dry rainforest passing large rock features adorned with ferns. Cross Rifle Bird Creek and Bellbird Creek before emerging at Egg Rock clearing. Ascend the Beechmont Range, catching glimpses back down Kurraragin Valley, to reach Binna Burra Road 500 metres downhill from the Information Centre.
Caves Circuit - Beginning from the Information Centre this track offers great views of Coomera Valley, the Darlington Range and extensive areas of rainforest dominated by hoop pine. A short tunnel cut through volcanic rock reveals Kweebani Cave, once used extensively by the Yugambeh people. The track then climbs steeply up the range to emerge near Binna Burra Lodge and campsite.
Tullawallal Circuit - The track leaves the Border Track 1.9 km from Binna Burra and leads to an elevated patch of cool temperate rainforest featuring ancient Antarctic beech trees at the summit, Tullawallal. Returning to Binna Burra via the Loop Track, discover fungi, ferns, figs and booyong.

Binna Burra, Lamington National Park - Part 2 | JustBecause
Our amazing adventure at Binna Burra continues...
Curious about what lies further along the trail we walked the day before, we get up at dawn to tackle the 5 km cave circuit, and we're not disappointed! The morning chorus of rainforest birds is music to the ears as we venture deep into the cool, dark rainforest. After a refreshing milk shake, we're ready to tackle our next walk. It's a short 1 km trail, but it lead to a much longer, seemingly isolated trail that was hardly visible! It took us deep into the forest, and lead us to a spectacular drop off where a magnificent waterfall once raged, and the views there were hard to absorb! Our time in this mesmerising place was coming to a close, but Binna Burra had one last surprise up it's sleeve - the return of the meat-eating possum!!! See how it all unfolds!

Binna Burra, Lamington National Park
Binna Burra and O'Reilly's rainforest retreats are located in Lamington National Park, Queensland. Here are a few photographs of Binna Burra.
Stretching out across the McPherson Ranges in south-east Queensland, Lamington National Park is World Heritage-Listed wilderness area which comprises Australia's largest remnant of sub-tropical rainforest. More than 160 kills of walking tracks wend their way through fern-filled gullies, wind-eroded caves and up to breathtaking lookouts. On the highest peaks, misty forests of ancient Antarctic beech trees date back over 2000 years; down in the valleys, crystal clear streams cascade over moss-covered boulders into deep mountain pools. Wildlife: The area abounds with native wildlife. Echoing through dense canopy overhead, you 'II hear the call of Whip birds, Satin Bowerbirds and Green Catbirds, the rare Rufous Scrub Bird and Paradise Rifle Bird. In the jungle thick undergrowth, goannas, scrub turkeys and pademelons show no fear of visitors.

Coomera Falls in Lamington National Park | Brisbane, Australia
Commera Falls walk in the Lamington National Park near Brisbane, Australia. Got myself soaked in rain but it was totally worth it!
As I arrived in Brisbane, Australia I found out that the weather wasn't very good as it was raining in Brisbane. I was not happy because I was hoping to come here has been very long time so not being happy with the rain I rented a car with a plan to go search for waterfalls outside of Brisbane.
I found out that the Lamington National Park has a couple of places with waterfalls where you can take beautiful pictures so I drove there near a waterfall called Coomera.
As I arrive at the place I fount out that I had to hike about 5 kilometers just to get to the Coomera falls and as it was not raining I did. The lamington National Park is beautiful and worth a visit, lots of green and its a rainforest where you can listen to lots of birds and even find wild kangaroos.
After hiking for about 5 kilometers I got to the Coomera falls in the Lamington National Park and these waterfalls are beautiful. I took lots of pictures and after a while was time for me to come back up to the car.
What I realized was that I had been walking all the way down the mountain to see the Coomera falls and now I had to go all the way back up and as soon as I started walking it started raining a lot. I got completely soaked but it was a fun walk all the way up in the middle of the Lamington National park.
If you are around Brisbane and you don't know what to do in Brisbane or you have many other things to do in Brisbane, try to get some time and visit these waterfalls in the Lamington National Park. The coomerafalls walk in the Lamington National Park are worth it.

Lamington is a national park in Queensland, Australia, lying on the Lamington Plateau. It is a part of the World Heritage site, Central Eastern Rainforest Reserves on the Queensland/New South Wales border. From Southport on the Gold Coast the park is 85 km to the southwest and Brisbane is 120 km north.
For at least 6000 years, Aboriginal people lived in and visited these mountains.[2] The vanished Wangerriburras and Nerangballum tribes claimed home to the plateau territory.[1] Roughly 900 years ago the indigenous population began to decline.
Captain Patrick Logan and Allan Cunningham were the first European explorers in the area. The timber cutters soon followed, including the Lahey family who owned one of Queensland's largest timber mills at the time.[3]
Robert Martin Collins campaigned heavily for the protection of the area from logging from the 1890s.[3] Later it was another local, Romeo Lahey who recognised the value of preserving the forests. He campaigned to make it one of the first protected areas in Queensland.[4] The OReilly family established a guesthouse near the park in 1926, now named O'Reilly's Rainforest Guest House, and founding members of the National Parks Association of Queensland built Binna Burra Lodge next to the park in the 1930s (Note: Accommodation/External Links).
The park was named after Lord Lamington, Governor of Queensland from 1896 to 1902.[1]
Bernard OReilly became a hero when he rescued the survivors from a crashed Stinson plane from the remote Lamington wilderness. In typical Aussie Bushman Fashion he embarked on his rescue mission taking only onions to eat. Only a small portion of the original wreck remains today, 10 km south from the Oreilly's guesthouse
