Patuxai Monument & The Gold Temple also know as, Pha That Luang are must see tourist attractions around Vientiane, Laos.
If you are visiting Vientiane, Laos, for the first time. Then these two famous tourist attractions are a must see.
PATUXAI MONUMENT is a war monument located in the center of Vientiane, Laos which was built between 1957-1968. You can go up to the top of the monument, which will give you a 360 degree view of the entire city of Vientiane, Laos.
THE GOLD TEMPLE (Pha That Luang) is a large Buddhist stupa all covered in gold and is regarded as the most important national monument in Laos and a national symbol.

It's changed a lot!
Instead of being a sleepy, backwater, place, Vientiane is buzzing to the same beat that Bangkok and Hanoi feels.
I visit the main sights: Patuxai, Wat Sisaket, Black Stupa, Pha That Luang, Wat Si Muang, Buddha Park and the Mekong River.

The Buddha Park in Vientiane, Laos is a MUST VISIT, for those who are in Vientiane, Laos.
The Buddha Park also known as Xieng Khuan is a beautiful park filled with large Buddhist sculptures surrounded by lush greenery. It contains over 200 Hindu and Buddhist statues.
There is also a flower garden and restaurants hidden at the back of the park, where you can just sit and relax under one of the old traditional Laos huts.
The park opens daily from 8:00AM - 5:00PM

LAOS NIGHTLIFE | Main Nightlife Area In Vientiane, Laos
LAOS NIGHTLIFE - This is the main nightlife area in Vientiane, Laos.
This is what the nightlife in Vientiane, Laos is like. This street, which is known as Quai Fa Ngum Road consists of the main nightlife area in Vientiane, Laos.
There are streets vendors all along this street, starting from Khun Bu Lom Road all the way to Rue Manthatourath.
The main area is around is around Khun Bu Lom Road or Chao Anou Road. This is where the Vientiane Night Market is and also where most people hang around near the Mekong River.
This place usually starts kicking off around 5:00PM or 6:00PM and closes around 10:00PM or 11:00pm.
Nightlife in Laos finishes pretty early for what I can remember. So be sure to come out early if you want to have more time to shop and eat.

The urban area of Vang Vieng is really nothing special, but the real beauty begins as soon as you cross the bridge towards the Blue Lagoons, which are surrounded by massive karst rocks.
And Vientiane... Well... It's a big city with only a few attractions. But the Patuxay Monument and the COPE Visitor Centre are definitely worth a visit, as well as the Buddha Park.
