Video Game Arcade Tours - Las Vegas Amusements (Hemsby, UK)
They have Time Crisis II, Scud Race, Ring Riders and a broken Point Blank 2 cab. The arcade has an office type feel, maybe it's the carpet? but it's very focused on redemption and gambling. There are so many arcades in Hemsby, I'm not sure how this one stands out.

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol
An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.

Video Game Arcade Tours - Caesars Amusements (Hemsby, UK)
They have a statue of Julius Caesar outside and the arcade looks big, so it's quite promising! When you get inside, there is a Mario Kart machine and endless redemption. It wasn't a great experience. Every arcade in Hemsby is sold on hardcore redemption. No variety. No fun.

Video Game Arcade Tours - Carousel Amusements (Hemsby, UK)
Not a bad little arcade. It is inside Bermuda Holiday Park in Hemsby. The machines are quite old, but at least there is a good selection and it's not a total redemption fest. They have mini bowling, pool, air hockey, drivers, Dancing Stage Euromix 1 and more. It's pretty cool. Hemsby is the worst place in Norfolk for video games, 95% of the arcades focus heavily on redemption, so Carousel Amusements wins this one from us!

Video Game Arcade Tours - Lucky Strike Amusements & Vic's Bingo (Hemsby, UK)
Lucky Strike Amusements & Vic's Bingo sits in a very very small space. I didn't see one single video game. They have crane games, gambers and anything which spells redemption, but that's about it! The only non money making gizmo I saw was a fireman themed water shooter for kids. Disappointing.

Pop Inn Leisure has always been a family favourite! We have been visiting here for many years! The small room at the end used to have bowling inside until it was burnt down. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol

Video Game Arcade Tours - The Mirage (Hemsby, UK)
It looks so promising from the outside! But all we found was an 18 wheeler and a small air hockey lol. There are many 2p machines and fruit machines. There is an over 18s gambling area and also some redemption. Not much in the way of video games I'm afraid!

Video Game Arcade Tours - Claremont Pier Amusements (Lowestoft, UK)
One of our favourite arcades in Norfolk! They still have an original Dancing Stage Euromix 2 cabinet with working pads! Most arcade operators leave them into a dying death, but you could actually play hard songs without sticking or undersentive arrows and the sensors also work well. The owner also gave us free water bottles after watching us play, which was really cool. Nice guy!
Looking at the arcade, it's a good mix of video games and redemption. You can tell that the owner cares about video games and hasn't completely sold out on a redemption-based business model (Unlike every single arcade in Hemsby for example!). We will be back!

Video Game Arcade Tours - Crystal Palace Amusements (Hemsby, UK)
Dance Dance Revolution X with a Fast and Furious cabinet, hidden in the back of a full-on redemption pit. The video game arcade scene in Hemsby is simply awful! It's redemption everywhere! You might as well call it a casino for kids. The Dance Dance Revolution X cabinet had a stuck right arrow on player 1, so we couldn't play half of that either. So disappointing!

Video Game Arcade Tours - Golden Nugget, Circus Circus, Flamingo (Great Yarmouth, UK)
All three of these arcades connect on the inside, so really, it's one big arcade by the same owner. I featured all three in the same video. The arcades have a decent balance of video games and redemption-based machines. They have invested in some more expensive newer games: Cruisin' Blast while still maintaining some great classics like Final Furlong! Would be nice to see a dance machine in here! Can't complain and certainly better than the redemption fests we see in most places these days. Would visit again!
