LAZIENKI KROLEWSKIE - THE ROYAL PALACE AND PARK IN WARSAW , August 2018
Lazienki Park - Warsaw
Lazienki Park must be the loveliest, most enchanting city park in Europe. Right in the heart of the city, just south of the Old Town and Royal Route, it was once a country estate outside Warsaw's city walls. Its name, Royal Baths Park, comes from the bathing pavilion once located here. The estate was acquired and redesigned by the last Polish king, Stanislaw August Poniatowski, in the mid-18th century, and laid out in classical style, complete with a palace on the central lake, an ancient Roman-style amphitheatre, an orangerie and a whole wonderland of beautifully-crafted gardens.

LAZIENKI ROYAL PALACE IN WARSAW
LIFE IS A JOURNEY which is my passion and a way and subject of my writing, photography, video films as well as relaxation. Based in New York, I am often in my native Poland. This time for a longer period of time. Between now and the summer of 2016 I will show you some pearls of Poland's architecture, art and history. Today I would like to show you the Royal Lazienki Palace , one of the favorite tourist attractions of Warsaw where I was born, educated and got my first journalistic experience. It's my first but not last presentation of Lazienki. So do not worry that some key structures are missing here: you will get them sooner or later. Among them, naturally, a statue of Chopin with the stage for wonderful concerts of Chopin music. TRY NOT TO WORRY about the fact that I did not illustrate the piece with Chopin's music played by a famous pianist. As you know, while life is a journey you cannot choose all its conditions. C'est la vie.

Poland: Warsaw, Lazienki Park (Part 4)
Lazienki Park ... the largest park in Warsaw, occupying 80 hectares of the city center. The park lies in Warsaw's Downtown (Sródmiescie), on Ujazdów Avenue (Aleje Ujazdowskie), on the Royal Route linking the Royal Castle with Wilanów to the south. Lazienki Park was established in the 17th century by Tylman van Gameren, in the baroque style, for Stanislaw Lubomirski. It took the name Lazienki (Baths) from a bathing pavilion that was located there. In 1764 the gardens were acquired, after his election as King of Poland, by Stanislaw August Poniatowski.
Palac na Wodzie or Palac Lazienkowski (Palace on the Water) ... also called the Palace on the Isle, was established in the 17th century by Tylman van Gameren for Stanislaus Lubomirski. From 1772 to 1793 Dominik Merlini altered the building for Stanislaus August Poniatowski, who made it his residence. The bath house was formed in Chinese style. The park now a beautiful medley of architectural styles was then graced with relief's and painted Dutch tiles. Its furniture and paintings belong to the Classicist style. The appearance is dominated by an Attika, carried by columns, statues of mythological figures. The palace by the park is on an artificial island on the Lazienki Lake, and is connected by two arcade bridges to the rest of the park. The long Lazienki lake is divided by the palace in two parts, into a smaller northern lake and a bigger southern lake. On the ground floor of the palace is the so-called Bacchus-room, the royal baths, the ballroom, the portrait cabinet, the Salomonsaal, the rotunda with the figures of the Polish kings, the lower picture gallery which contains minor works by Rubens and Rembrandt, and the chapel.

Beautiful Lazienki Park in Warsaw
Vlog#11 - Hello folks! This place is really, really beautiful. We enjoyed our early leisurely stroll in this place called Lazienki Krolewskie in Warsaw.
Pardon my harsh voice in 0:45. I was already having dry and itchy throat because of the heat. But, the travel must go on! AND, sorry if I really couldn't pronounce the name. Sorry!
Lazienki Krolewskie is the largest park in Warsaw. The park is located in central Warsaw and is connected to the Royal Route which linked the Old Royal Castle to the Wilanow Palace. And speaking of Wilanow Palace, please watch out for our vlog on that place. Coming soon! We went there early, before 9 a.m. to enjoy the breezy stroll before it got hot in the middle of the day. We just took a public bus 159 off Pl.Konstytucji which was few blocks from Novotel Warszawa Centrum where we were staying. It was a brief ride, maybe around 15 minutes only until we reached the bus stop at Rozbrat. The walk from Rozbrat bus stop was around 15 minutes as well before we reached the Lazienki Krolewskie Museum side entrance.
There are plenty of structures from residential palaces to monuments to statues in this serene park in the heart of Warsaw. This is a huge park and we only managed to go around 1/4th of the place and it was getting hot already. I told my hubby that we need to come back to see the whole park when the weather is cooler. That is another reason to come here.
One of the prominent and well-known structure in this park is the Palace in the Isle. It is what we featured here most since we didn't get as far as the other side of the park. The look and feel of this palace is so breath-taking! I think it fits for a nice wedding photo op. Don't you think?
Aside from the Palace in the Isle, there were busts and monuments too that we have managed to see.
The park is just so beautiful and quiet when we visited. They hold Chopin concerts here too and this is open to the public. We think this place is just perfect for proposals and wedding photo ops session with all the natural beauty and residential palaces as props. But hey, if you decide to do that, perhaps it is best to inform the management of the park too. Maybe there are formalities one need to fulfill in order to use the place for such events. No harm in asking tho! :)
We hope you enjoyed this video of our leisurely stroll in one of the most beautiful parks in Warsaw. If you plan to visit Warsaw, make sure you add Lazienki Park in your list of must-visit places in Poland.
