Travel to India from Canada! | Air Canada Flight from Toronto to Mumbai Travel Vlog
Come join me as I travel to India from Canada in this travel vlog highlighting my experience taking an Air Canada flight from Toronto to Mumbai. This trip to India is a solo trip without Audrey but I'll be teaming up with my good friend David of David's Been Here to visit Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Amritsar, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmadabad together.
Subscribe to David's channel:
Things start off at Pearson International Airport in Toronto with a very long check-in line for my flight with Air Canada. Security is much faster and before I know I've got lots of time to kill before my flight. I ended up finding an Indian restaurant (Marathi) that serves up some of my favorite North Indian curries along with garlic naan.
The flight from Toronto to Mumbai with Air Canada was really long and I arrive in Mumbai feeling exhausted but at the same time full of adrenaline and excitement to be back in India. At the airport it took me a long time to arrange a taxi and to take out money mostly because of an Uber strike. By the time I get to my hotel I'm completely knackered. Please stay tuned for more food and travel videos from India coming soon.

Travel to India from Canada! | Air Canada Flight from Toronto to Mumbai Travel Vlog Video Transcript:
Hey guys, greetings from Toronto's Pearson International Airport. And as you can notice oh my gosh I am by myself. There is no Audrey. I am taking a trip to India and I'm going to be meeting up with my friend David.
I'm actually going to see if they have some Indian food in this airport. I can order some Indian food from maybe Marathi.
Rice and curry over here. Down here I've got sides. It looks like naan bread. Check out this. When you have the choice between plain naan and garlic naan that is a no brain-er.
And what to get with the garlic naan. Let's check out the rice and curry section. Oh wow. Look at that guys. Butter chicken. Chicken Tikka Masala. Paneer Matter Masala. So like all of my favorites.
Aloo Gobi which I love. Decisions, decisions.
While I hurry up and wait for the food I thought I'd tell you a little bit more about my travels to India.
So the person I'm going with David Hoffmann. He's been making videos even longer than us. His channel is David's Been Here.
I'm going to be teaming up with him and basically traveling all over India for 3 weeks. This is uh a trip that he has designed himself and it is a very fast paced. I think we're going to six or seven cities.
I've been wanting to go back to India for a really long time and this is going to be my third trip there.
So guys I'm going to be flying with Air Canada today. And one very unfortunate thing, on a long flight like this, I'd love to get an aisle seat. I want to have access to the toilets. I want to be able to stretch my legs and just get up.
I've made it to India! Mumbai. The biggest city of India. Wow! This is crazy. Like I'm so tired but I feel like I've got this sudden jolt of adrenaline now that I'm here. I'm so excited to be here. And yeah it is basically just have to go through Immigration, get my bag and then find a cab.
Guys I've arrived at the hotel. And I have to say like I am completely knackered. It is 2am in the morning. It took a little while to actually arrange a cab, get some money. Like none of the ATMs worked with my card. And so I spent a half an hour doing that. I waited in line for a cab for an hour. Um I didn't have my hotel address plotted on Google Maps so it took about five different tries for my cab driver to find the hotel.
So I'm going to say goodbye for now and I'll have more India travel and food videos coming for you really soon.
This is part of our Travel in India video series showcasing Indian food, Indian culture and Indian cuisine.

Kolkata Travel Vlog | Visit India Travel Guides
Join us as we visit Kolkata in this travel vlog covering as much as we in the city as our final destination on our India trip. After a long train ride from Varanasi we finally arrived in Calcutta with less than 48 hours to visit the city. The health of our group as a whole had really deteriorated at this point with Audrey and my Mom being really sick and my Dad struggling with a cold.
On our first morning it was just my Dad and I wandering from Colootola east of the maiden along Garer Maath and Elliot Park en route to visit Victoria Memorial. Along the way we spotted numerous cricket matches which we stopped to watch for a bit. By the end of that it was quite hot and humid so we took a yellow taxicab back to our hotel on Sudder street.
The following day, after my parents left to return home to Canada, Audrey and I ventured nearby to the Sir Hogg Stuart Market which honestly was a bust given the hassle factor. Instead we decided to enjoy some rooftop sunset views of Kolkata before ending our last evening by doing a pulled rickshaw tour of Calcutta at night.
1) Wandering down Colootola east of the maidan by Garer Maath and Elliot Park
2) Watching cricket in Kolkata
3) Visiting Victoria Memorial
4) Yellow taxicab ride in Kolkata
5) Sir Stuart Hogg Market
6) Rooftop views of Kolkata for sunset
7) Pulled Rickshaw tour of Kolkata at night

Our visit Kolkata travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a city tour, visiting museums and memorials, shopping at markets, pulled rickshaw rides and rooftop views during sunset. We also cover off-the-beaten-path activities you won't find in a typical Kolkata tourism brochure, Kolkata city tour or Kolkata itinerary.
Kolkata Travel Vlog | Visit India Travel Guides video transcript:
Good morning from Kolkata. We have made it to our final destination in India. Sam is going to show you around Calcutta with his Dad.
We didn’t venture too far on our first day. Our hotel was located in Colootola just east of the maidan, so we mostly wandered the park on foot & watched a bit of cricket, before heading down to Victoria Memorial.
So the one thing you'll notice if you're touring around Kolkata just on foot is just how popular cricket is here in this city. It is just everywhere you go, anytime there is a park or an open space you'll see a bunch of men playing cricket.
So next up we're visiting Victoria Memorial Hall and to visit the garden it is like the cost of a cup of chai on a train in India. It is only 10 Rupees. If you want to go visit the museum it is 200 but we're uh a little tired today so we're just going to walk around the premises and take some shots.
The Victoria Memorial was built to commemorate Queen Victoria after her passing, and it officially opened in 1921. Inside they have a collection of Indian paintings and Western paintings, as well as rare photographs, old manuscripts and coin collections.
Today is our last day in Kolkata. We just said goodbye to Sam's parents this morning. We're flying out tomorrow. So we're going to do some sightseeing. It is almost sunset time so we're thinking of doing a rickshaw tour around part of the city.
We went out for a little walk around our neighbourhood. We found some street art, took photos of the iconic yellow cabs, watched a game of cricket on the street, and then befriended a sweet dog.
Visiting the Sir Stuart Hogg Market was a bust. We were surrounded by a group of people who just wanted to sell us stuff and take us to their shops.
We are doing a tour by pull rickshaw because apparently these are typical of Kolkata. This is what you do in Kolkata.
That is a wrap from Kolkata. We are all packed up and ready to go. That is the end of our journey in India and what a journey it was. Oh my gosh like yeah. It has been a crazy month. It has been a rollercoaster ride of highs & lows and we'll be talking more in a travel tips video.

Gurgaon, the new urban India - VPRO documentary - 2009
Original title: Documentary: I am Gurgaon. The new Urban India (VPRO Backlight)
The shining facades of Gurgaon, a satellite city of New Delhi, are symbols of India's unparalleled economic growth. Gurgaon was built at the turn of this century by the largest project developers in the world. A village 15 years ago, has now grown into a city of 1.4 million inhabitants, but with little or no infrastructure. How viable is this new type of city?
Residents of the gated communities of this privatized society offer insights in their hope, desires, and in the new self-confidence of the Indian middle class. Gradually it becomes clear what the consequences of the credit crisis and the growing gap between rich and poor are for the city and the psyche of its inhabitants.
Gurgaon: a Ponzi Scheme or the prototype for future megacities as they will be found all over India within a few decennials?

FOREIGNERS TRY INDIAN SAREE AND SAFA FOR THE FIRST TIME | DIWALI UDAIPUR INDIA
Udaipur is known as the City of the Lakes, and it's beautiful. The palaces are Rajasthan Royalty at its finest. We were lucky enough to be in Udaipur during Deepavali or Diwali. It was such a special experience to see how the Indian people celebrate Diwali. They decorate the house with Indian ethnic decorations and lamps (Diya) and fairy lights, have beautiful dry powder patterns outside their doors, insane fireworks, eat lots of sweets, exchange gifts. They also wear new clothes, so Graeme and I tried dressing up in traditional Indian clothing and tried to drape a saree for the first time. Graeme wanted to channel his inner Maharajah and wanted to wear a traditional Rajputi safa. Watch us get dressed and celebrate Diwali, festival of lights, in one of the most beautiful cities in India, Udaipur.

My Crazy Hike on a Volcano ???????? Mount Bromo, Indonesia
Today we hike Mount Bromo, a volcano in Indonesia. This was one of the craziest, coolest places I've ever been. At Mt Bromo, you can make your own experience, and hike to get incredible views of the volcano before crossing the sea of sand to hike on the volcano. When you walk around the rim of it, there aren't rails or fences blocking it off, it's just pure true nature. It was one of my best experiences in Indonesia, and if you come to East Java, you have to go to Mount Bromo. (This is a remastered, re-edited video that I made over a year ago..In case you find it familiar)
