The name Via Ferrata comes from Italy, where they built an iron road in the mountains during the first world war. The essence of a modern via ferrata is a steel cable which runs along the route and is periodically (every 3 to 10 metres (9.8 to 33 ft)) fixed to the rock. Using a via ferrata kit the climber can secure themselves to the cable, limiting any fall.

- Forest road from the Alexandra Marina to an altitude of 170 metres.
- Path through steep terrain from an altitude of 170 metres to 440 metres.
- Walking time on forest road and path: 1 to 1 1/2 hours

- Gjølmunnebridge (longest via ferrata bridge in Europe)750 m.a.s.l. and 120 m. long
- Gjølmunne string (wire bridge): 36 m. long.

The mountains surrounding Loen and Stryn invites you to great ski touring and backcountry skiing with views of fjords and mountains.You have many summits to choose from, and even more downhill runs.
We highly recommend using a certified guide for your ski touring around Mount Hoven. Loen Active cooperate with IVBV/UIAGM/IFMGA-certified mountain guides. The guides will adjust the trip based on the weather and snow conditions. If you don't have a guide remember that all skiing is at your own risk, and make sure you have the necessary skills for safe skiing.

Gjølmunnebrua - 120 m lang hengebrua i Via Ferrata Loen
Ca 120 m lang hengebru i klatrestien Via Ferrata Loen mellom fjellet Hoven og Midt-Tunga. Brua ligg 750 meter over havet, og på midten av brua er det 160 m rett ned. Loen Active AS er eigar av brua, og firmaet tilbyr guida turar og leige av utstyr. Tidsbruk på guida tur: ca 5 timar. Brua vart etablert juli/august 2013, og firma HZI frå Austerrike stod for prosjektering og montering saman med lokale firma.

Drømmedag i luftige omgivelser
VIA FERRATA WITH FJORD VIEW IN LOEN
Via Ferrata in Loen, Norway is just an exciting trip. Climbing into captivating nature, and the mountains and fjords is surrounding you everywhere you see.
This was the most amazing hike / climb I have ever done. The only thing to be aware of, is that you have to be strong in your hands, and not getting easely dizzy, because it is a hard job. Some very challenging parts, that require upper body strength, and also good leg muscles.
There are two suspension bridges, one is 120 meter , and easy to take, the other is 36 meter and is walking over one rope.
After you have done this trip, you will say: YES, I DID IT!
P.S- You should not be afraid of heights
