Whale Shark at Loreto Bay
A magical moment this morning kayaking in front of the rock at Loreto Bay. We were just in front of the 15th hole on the golf course when this (baby) peaceful giant decided to check us out. The shark stayed with us for almost 20 minutes. This is just a quick, rough cut.

8. Loreto, Mexico
A beach hideaway with sport fishing gets a luxury resort.
Long known for sport fishing, Loreto, on Baja California Sur's eastern
coast, is poised to become one of Mexico's next luxury destinations.
Loreto also has longstanding attractions to tout. It recently started a
public relations campaign, with help from the Mexico Tourism Board, to
highlight its colonial architecture, deserted beaches and marine life.
Founded in 1697 by Jesuit missionaries, Loreto is home to the historic
Mission of Our Lady Loreto, one of the first California missions. The
baroque Mission of San Javier can be found nearby in the Sierra de la
Giganta Mountains.
Visitors can take day trips to see prehistoric rock art in the Sierra de
San Francisco region of Baja California between Loreto and Bahia de Los
Angeles. Five islands that make up the Loreto Bay National Marine Park,
which covers 797 square miles in the Sea of Cortez, offer extensive
snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, whale-watching and scuba-diving
opportunities. The area is home to more than 800 species of marine life,
including six-foot-long Humboldt squid.

Diving Emerald Abyss in Loreto, Mexico.
???????? ️A week ago we went exploring a few potential new divesites outside the National Park, and we hit jackpot! This short video showcases the site. It's a vertical drop from 7 to 30 meters (25 to 100 feet) fully covered with black coral. The view of the huge drop and it's lush emerald coral forest is an overwhelming scenery and one of the most pristine deep reefs in the Loreto area, with almost no visible damage, and one of the thickest black coral forest within recreational limits. After having surveyed the spot, we think that Emerald Abyss describes well the new dive site. We will be back soon!
¡Volveremos pronto!

Bahia Salinas, Loreto BCS, Mexico.
Bahía Salinas is a gorgeous bay located on the East face of Carmen Island, within Loreto's National Marine Park. It's perfect for a full day trip: enjoy the panoramic ride filled with marine life such as dolphins, sea lions, and even whales if lucky. Swim in its turquoise waters, where you can find a shallow ship wreck, followed by a picnic on the beach. After, if the island's custodians allow us to, explore the ex-salt mine with pink lakes and crystal rocks.

We spent 6 days diving in the Loreto area with Rafael and crew from Dolphin Dive Baja. One of our favourite dive masters and dive shops! First time I have taken video (GoPro) while diving so it's a work in progress. Hopefully I identified everything correctly!
