Frankenmuth Michigan Summer Tour 2019
Today, we are in Frankenmuth Michigan for summer tour around the city :). Recently, we were up in Mackinaw City, Michigan and it reminded us a lot of Frankenmuth (also known as Michigan's little Bavaria) so we decided to take a quick trip out to this beautiful little Bavarian town.
To start of our tour we decided to take a quick spin around the River Place Shops, which I believe was built by the same developers that installed the Mackinaw Crossing mall up in Mackinaw City. Everything pretty much looked the same as it did the last time we were in Frankenmuth. We did stop to eat a couple of pasties at the Pasty Haus.
After finishing our little meal we headed to downtown Frankenmuth. The main street in Frankenmuth is beautiful in the summer time. There were lots of beautiful flowers and plants all along the roadside.
Near the end of our walk we decided to pop into the Raus Country Store for a look around at all of the fun collectibles inside.
Overall, we had a fantastic time in Frankenmuth and I believe we both enjoyed it even more than Mackinaw City.

Traverse City Brew Bus
Check out the IndieGoGo campaign:
My name is Troy Daily, local business owner and entrepreneur. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2008 with a BA in Hospitality Business. After living in California and Virginia for four years I moved back to Traverse City in early 2011. Upon moving back I started Daily Medias, a local marketing company. I then started local food and drink focused businesses including TC Cycle Pub, TC Ale Trail, and the TC Dining Guide, all of which filled unique niches in the area that had not yet been filled.
I have grown extremely passionate about the flourishing craft brew scene in the area, especially beer. The Cycle Pub had a great first season. The Ale Trail has had great traction since launching in July with over 1,200 brew lovers completing the trek. Both have been great influences on the industry. Thats when the Brew Bus idea was born...
The Brew Bus is an exciting way to educate, celebrate, and experience the craft brew community in a unique, fun and safe way.
The Brew Bus will offer some entertaining all-inclusive tours including; brewhouse tours, brewer and owner questionnaires, samplings at each location, and even some Cicerone-led tours. These experiences will not only be educational and interesting, but they will offer added benefits that may surpass if you were to visit the brewery on your own. The Brew Bus will also be available for rent and other tours will be announced early 2014.
If all goes well the Brew Bus is expected to be offering tours just after the New Year. With your help we can get, 'Ale Aboard the Brew Bus!'

TESTING OUR BATTERIES AND EXPLORING THE UPPER PENINSULA!
➝ This Episode:
It's official, we found our favorite campsite! Not just in Michigan but in the whole two years we've been on the road. The only catch is that it doesn't have any hookups so we had to put our lithium Battle Born Batteries to the test this trip. We're happy to report they held up well and we can't wait to install solar so we can stay longer in places like this. This week we also explored some of the major sights in the Upper Peninsula, including the Soo Locks, Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon Falls, and St. Ignace! Also, we apologize in advance to all of the Michiganders watching (and cringing), we mess up every single local word ????

Carriage Tour Brussels - Timelapse
Searching for an interesting way to get around Brussels? You can’t see a thing in the metro, driving in the tiny cobblestone streets can be stressful and a hassle, and your feet are about to fall off from hours of walking? At the historic Grand-Place in Brussels, you can now hop in a spacious Victorian horse-drawn carriage to visit this beautiful capital in style!
This is the first time horse-drawn carriage tours (calèches in French) have been offered at the Grand-Place, starting and ending at Rue Charles Buls to be exact. Atop a brand new carriage equipped with a protective covering in case of rain, a professional coach will escort you around the historic parts of downtown Brussels, including Place Agora, Rue du Marché aux Herbes, Rue de L’Etuve, Rue du Midi, and many more.
Each tour takes about 30 minutes and takes you through the traditionally pedestrian areas where you can see a lot of Brussels’ exceptional UNESCO heritage sites. The carriages are quite spacious, fitting up to 5 people. Pile in with your whole family, a group of friends, or as a part of a romantic date night out. This is an attraction that anyone and everyone can enjoy.
Tourists will be happy to know that these horse-drawn carriages are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There are even night time tours during the summer! The cost is 44€ per carriage, and no reservation is necessary. When you undoubtedly find yourself at the famous Grand-Place during your trip to Brussels, take advantage of this personal carriage escort while admiring the impressive architecture of the Brussels City Hall.

Muni No 1079.Friday, February 15, 2013, 1.29.00 PM
Detroit, Michigan
Built 1946 • Operational • Tribute livery
This car's exterior commemorates Detroit, which operated PCC streetcars from 1947 to 1956.
While Detroit prided itself as the home of modern automotive design, the Detroit Department of Street Railways stayed away from the streamlined PCC streetcar when it first appeared, tinkering instead with its existing 'Peter Witt' streetcars to try to make them faster and quieter.
After World War II, Detroit changed its mind and bought 186 new PCCs, using them mainly on the heavy Woodward, Michigan and Jefferson lines. Less than a decade later, though, Detroit made a mass conversion to buses.
San Francisco outbid Mexico City for 80 used Detroit PCCs, but after San Francisco's financial problems killed the deal, almost all Detroit's PCCs went to Mexico City.
Electric motors were no longer welcome in 'Motor City' but the livery lives on here on car No. 1079
