Magdalena Bay Fly Fishing- Baja Mexico
The following film took place in Magdalena Bay/East Cape- Baja California Sur, Mexico Nov. 2014-Feb 2015. Most footage was filmed on an estuary arm on Mag Bay about 20 miles from Puerto San Carlos/40 miles from Consitucion. The East Cape footage was filmed near La Ribera. The waters were mostly nurseries for smaller, young fish- we learned that on neap tide days the skipjack were on the hunt for ballyhoo and sardines- this was one of our favorite activities- chasing that bait spray! Shot on GoPro 3 by Julianne Peterson, Fishing by Nick Jackson. Ili Dog- Mascot. Music- Heart of Victoria by Former Employees.

Sailing Mexico Episode 3 Bahia Santa Maria and Mag Bay - Baja Mexico
Michael and Melissa, The Adventure Travelers, sail further down the coast of Baja, Mexico and venture into Bahia Santa Maria with their good friends, Pat and Alaina (from the band Tennis).
Michael jumps into the water and replaces the zinc on their Island Packet 37' Yacht, since the old one was eaten through by electrolysis, which most likely happened in Ensenada.
The crew from Harlow Hut and Swift Ranger hop in the dinghy and take a ride through the Bahia Santa Maria estuary. Michael finally realizes he's on his sabbatical and is living his dream!
The two boats sail further south and anchor in Magdalena Bay. They see whales of Mag Bay and a lot of sea life while approaching Bahia Magdelena.
Needing to provision with fresh fruit and vegetables, Michael, Melissa and Alaina hire Martin (a local fisherman/driver) to take them to the inland town of Constitution. It costs them a fortune. Read about it on our blog, TheAdventureTravelers.com
As the buddy boating duo, exits Mag Bay, the seas and weather become treacherous and both boats have to fend for themselves on the high seas.
More to come in Episode 4...

Whale Watching In Magdalena Bay, Baja California Sur, MEXICO
Wow, this was my first time whale watching and we encountered at least a dozen Gray whales as it was prime season; the whales are really only in Magdalena Bay in February and March and swim all the way down from Alaska (1,000 miles away). Sorry that this video does not catch one coming all the way out of the water but it gives you a strong sense of just how fun whale watching can be--and yes, most of them are bigger than the motor boat you take out into the bay with your guide!
Surf Adventure to Baja's Magdalena Bay
I did this trip to Baja's Magdalena Bay with my brothers Bob and Jim and to this day there isn't a trip that comes close to the total package of Surfing, Diving, fishing and exploration that this trip delivered. Best Baja trip ever!!

Kayak Fishing on the hunt for big grouper in Magdalena Bay in Baja Mexico, Jim Sammons, is joined by his daughter Kirstin and friend Sean White of Jackson Kayaks. They test out the waters inshore along the mangroves with little grouper, corvina and jacks before taking on the big swell and high winds.

Kayak Fishing Loreto and Mag Bay - Baja Mexico
Mag Bay Lodge hosted a kayak fishing trip that I will never forget. We fished Loreto, Offshore Mag Bay, Inshore Mag Bay and the Mangroves between Adolfo López Mateos and San Carlos, Baja California Sur. Everything from Marlin, Dorado, Tuna, Spotted Bass, Grouper, Corvina and some species I was unfamiliar with.
Magdalena Bay Whales, Bahia Magdalena, Baja Mexico
Climb aboard small panga boats to get up-close-and-personal with the magnificent whales of Baja California's Magdalena Bay on a thrilling 6-hour whale, dolphin and bird watching tour.
An adventure mecca for its rare beauty and pristine areas, Magdalena Bay includes 150 miles of estuaries on the eastern shore of the Pacific Ocean, as well as a seemingly endless system of mangrove that offers sanctuary to diverse bird and animal life.
But it's the annual migration of the grey whales that come down to the warmer waters to give birth and raise their young that truly captivates. As you set sail on the Pacific waves, you might also catch the occasional sighting of blue and humpback whales.
Imagine the sense of achievement that the Spanish explorer Francisco De Ulloa and his crew must have felt as they saw Isla Magdalena for the first time in 1539. Then experience your own sense of achievement as you immerse yourself in the life of the Sea of Cortez, meeting local fishermen and trying seafood straight from the sea, hiking the sand dunes looking for sea shells, and exploring the bird sanctuary of Isla De Patos.
