MATA VAISHNO DEVI GUFA TEMPLE-SHIMLA(HIMACHAL PRADESH)
Vaishno Devi Temple, commonly known as the Mahadevi Tirth, is named after the Goddess of mountains and wife of Lord Shiva Parvati. The temple stands stoic in the scenic valley of Kullu, in the hill state of Himachal Pradesh and was built way back in the year 1966. The foundations of this pretty temple were laid in the year1962 by Swami Sewak Das ji Maharaj. He chanced upon this location as he was searching for eternal peace and created the abode of Mahadevi in the picturesque terrains of Kullu.
Swami Sewak Das ji Maharaj is attributed with the preaching of Nishkaam Karmseva which appropriately translates to selfless service, love for mankind and magnetic spirituality which should be praised by the devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi. Contrary to what most tourists think, this temple dedicated to Vaishno Devi is not the main temple of the deity which is located in the town of Katra in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
