Manawatu Gorge Track
The Manawatu Gorge Scenic Reserve has a distinctive landscape with steep greywacke ranges covered in native vegetation.
The Manawatu Gorge Loop Track is located at the Woodville end of the Manawatu Gorge Track approximately 15 km east of Palmerston North.
Turn off State Highway 3 onto Ballance Gorge Road and cross the Ballance Bridge to the carpark at the track entrance.

The Manawatu Gorge (in Maori Te Apiti, meaning 'The Narrow Passage') runs between the Ruahine and Tararua Ranges of the North Island of New Zealand, linking the Manawatu and Hawke's Bay regions. It lies to the northeast of Palmerston North - its western end is near the small town of Ashhurst, its eastern end is close to the town of Woodville.

Today I travel to the Manawatu Gorge Walk to photograph the river that cuts through the gorge. The gorge walk is becoming very popular lately with its new renovations that have been done to the trail. It uses to be a beautiful drive that got you to the east side of the rages. But landslides have kept the road closed for years now and with no reopening date in mind. Join me as I walk up the trail to see the view from the top
