Mandore (Hindi: मंडोर), is a town located 9 km north of Jodhpur city, in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
The historic town boasts several monuments. The now ruined Mandore fort, with its thick walls and substantial size, was built in several stages and was once a fine piece of architecture. A huge, now ruined temple is a highlight of the fort. The outer wall of the temple depicts finely carved botanical designs, birds, animals and planets.
The 'Mandore gardens', with its charming collection of temples and memorials, and its high rock terraces, is another major attraction. The gardens house the Chhatris (cenotaphs) of many rulers of Jodhpur state. Prominent among them is the chhatri of Maharaja Ajit Singh, built in 1793.[3]
Ravan temple is another attraction at Mandore. It is believed to be the native place of Ravan's wife Mandodari. Ravan is treated as son in law among some local Brahmins.[4]
The Mandore Gardens also house a government museum, a 'Hall of Heroes' and a Hindu temple to 33 crore gods.[3] Various artefacts and statues found in the area are housed at the museum. The 'Hall of Heroes' commemorates popular folk heroes of the region. It contains 16 figures carved out of a single rock. Next door is a larger hall called The temple of 33 crore gods which houses images of various Hindu deities.

The rulers of this dynasty probably became vassals of the imperial Gurjara-Pratiharas.[1] After the disintegration of the Gurjara-Pratihara empire, one branch of Pratiharas continued to rule at Mandore. In 1395 CE, a princess of this branch married Rao Chunda of Rathore clan. Rao Chunda received the Junagarh fort in Mandore in dowry, and moved his capital to the site. The town remained the Rathore capital until 1459 CE, when Rao Jodha shifted his capital to the newly founded city of Jodhpur

Mandore Gardens Jodhpur
Mandore is an ancient town, and was the seat of the Mandorva branch of the Gurjar -Pratihara dynasty which ruled the region in the 6th century AD by King Nahar Rao Panwar. In 1395 AD, a Mohil princess of the Parihar rulers of Mandore married Chundaji, scion of the Rathore clan of Kshatriyas. This was during the era of rapid ascendency of the Rathore clan, and Chundaji received Mandore in dowry. The town remained the seat of the Rathore clan until 1459 AD, when Rao Jodha, a Rathore chief who united the surrounding region under his rule, shifted his capital to the newly founded city of Jodhpur.
Mandore was the capital of the erstwhile princely state of Marwar (Jodhpur State), before moving to Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur.

Bheruji's temple is located in Mandore Gardens near Jodhpur. Most oswal families seek Bheruji's blessing after performing the tonsure (mundan) and Jat (Jay-ti or Jwar) ritual at Osiya Mandir, Gora Bheruji or Kala Bheruji which varies from family to family. Inside the temple, Gora Bheruji reside on left side, Kala Bheruji on right side and Ganeshji is sitting in middle.
Mandore Gardens located about 5 miles north of Jodhpur is on the way to Osiya. The garden timings are 8 AM to 8 PM.

मंडोर बहुत ही प्रसिद्ध जगह है जोधपुर के पास में - यहाँ पर हजारों सैलानी - विदेशी तथा देशी लोग घूमने आते है - बहुत से जोधपुर के लोकल टूरिस्ट और लड़के - लड़कियां आते है - कपल भी आते है - ये गार्डन बहुत ही लम्बी दुरी पर फैला हुआ है - ये ऐतिहासिक गार्डन है - कहते है की ये रावण का ससुराल है - यहाँ पर आज मैं भी घुमा और विदेशी - इंग्लैंड के अंग्रेजों से बात की - ये विदेशी लड़की तथा विदेशी लड़का दोनों मंदिर में बैठे थे - यहाँ पर इनसे पूछा की वो मंडोर गार्डन के बारे में क्या सोचते है - तो विदेशी लड़की ने ऐसा जवाब दिया की आपको सुनकर मज़ा आ जायेगा - विदेशी लड़की ने कहा की उसे ये गार्डन बहुत ही ब्यूटीफुल लगता है और ऐतिहासिक भी - और लड़के ने कहा की ये बहुत हॉट है क्योंकि अभी बहुत गर्मी पड़ रही है - इसलिए लड़के ने हॉट कहा - दोनों कई दिनों से भारत घूम रहे है - यहाँ राजस्थान के आस पास के गाँवो से भी कई लोग आते है - इसी तरह से एक राजस्थानी गांव के व्यक्ति ने बताया की राजा महाराजों का बनाया हुआ ये पिकनिक स्पॉट बहुत अच्छा है - और राजस्थानी औरत ने बताया की उसे बहुत ही सुंदर ये गार्डन लगा - यहाँ पर गार्डन में बैठने वाली एक भंवरी देवी ने बताया की यहाँ पर बहुत लोग घूमने आते है - और ये रवान का ससुराल भी है - बहुत लम्बी दुरी पर फैला ये गार्डन बहुत खूबसूरत है - कम से कम दो घंटे यहाँ लगते है घूमने में | यहाँ पर कुछ दिन पहले ही

Mandore is located about 5 miles north of Jodhpur. It was the former capital of Maharajas of Marwar. Later it was abandoned for security concerns regarding the Mehrangarh fort. Its extensive Mandore garden, with high rock terrace, makes it a popular local attraction. The garden is open for tourists from 8 am to 8 pm.
In the Mandore garden, there are the dewals or cenotaphs of Jodhpur's former rulers. Instead of the usual chhatri-shaped cenotaphs typical of Rajasthan, the cenotaphs of the famous Mandore garden of Jodhpur, Rajasthan are built along the lines of a Hindu temple. They are four stories high, with fine columns and an elegant spire, all in red sandstone. The most impressive dewal is the dewal of Maharaja Ajit Singh. These cenotaphs are set in beautiful landscaped gardens. The cenotaphs of the Maharani are set on a rocky outcrop over the hill.
Near to the cenotaphs is the hall of heroes. The hall is dedicated to various deities and Rajput folk heroes. The statues of the deities and heroes we are carved out of rock and painted in bright colors. Also in this garden of Jodhpur, is The Shrine of the Three Hundred Million Gods, filled with brightly colored images of the various Hindu Gods. As you climb up the hill, you come to the ruined city of Mandore, with its old palace.

Hey Guys, Welcome back to my channel. I know I am taking sometime but I am now back with the third episode of our Rajasthan travel series in which we witnessed the royal legacy of Rajasthan as we went to Umaid Bhavan Palace where #PriyankaChopra got married last year. This is a must visit palace of Rajasthan.
We then headed towards Balsamand Lake Palace. It is one the most costly Palace/Hotel to live in Jodhpur.
After that we went to Mandore Garden which as popularly known as Ravana's Sasural :). This place is believed to be the place where Ravan got married to Mandodari. After Mandore Garden we we ended our day with a Boat ride at beautiful Kaylana Lake of Jodhpur.
