Cape Range National Park Exmouth WA Holiday & Travel Guide
The Cape Range National Park is a stunning natural expanse of canyons, gorges, limestone ranges and caves.
You can visit the eastern or western side of the range and it is best to head to the Milyering Visitors Centre first to get some maps information about the park.
There are a number of walking trails that you can embark on to follow along these ranges and canyons. If you do go for a trek along one of their tracks it is very important that you take sufficient water because it does get hot here and some of the walks are quite steep and go for many kilometers.
You might even be lucky enough to have a few unexpected guests walking along with you at some of the walking tracks, and we had a family of emus walking along in front of us.
Yardie Creek is a popular gorge and DEC run daily gorge tours and cruises up the creek. And Mandu Mandu offers spectacular views over this dry gorge once you have made it to the top of the steep tracks up the rugged canyon walls.

Oz'17 (WA) - Coral Bay & Exmouth
Waking up at the Termite Nest rest area, Coral Bay is only a few kilometers drive to the north. The town itself is markedly shaped by fishing and you are likely to find returning fishermen selling their catch of the day at dusk. Since Coral Bay represents a gateway to the Ningaloo Reef, several companies offer spectecular adventures on the Indian Ocean, such as swimming with manta rays. If looking for a more budged way to ceise the day you can walk up the beach to a fish farm, or go snorkeling right at the water's edge. One of THE attractions to see under water is the Ayers Rock coral, a 9 m diameter and 3500 years old coral that obtained its incoral size by simply forgetting to divide after growing up to a certain volume - now it is host to many small corals itself. The coral can be reached by a 500 m swim from the beach, while buoys provide some orientation (ask locals in doubt, they are happy to help). Also, three wind turbines on the mainland align if floating over the right spot and usually kayaks and other snorklers gather around that place, too. Commencing the journey further towards Exmouth, another gateway to the Ningaloo Reef, preebooking your desired tour during the dry season is advisable, since it is the only way of experiencing and swimming with the largest sharks of the world, whale sharks. Despite the expenses, the day tours are certainly a blast, as apart from the majestic whale sharks, you are likely to spot humpies and dolphins, as well, and your contribution helps to secure the marine park and thus, the natural habitat of these animals. If searching for a free adventure, the Cape Range NP may be exactly your call and offers access to many beautiful snorkeling sites, hiking trails or offroad action. Mandu Mandu gorge (south of Turquoise Bay) will truly satisfy your wish to walk on a dried out river bed (dry season only) and grant spectecular views over the NP at the apex when you are willing to commit some climbing passages. The Oyster Stacks are a rather secluded but ever so beautiful spot to chill out snorkeling the shallow waters and discovering plentiful of fish, coral and sea cucumbers. Even more remote, the snorkeling spot close to the visitor center offers a plethora of fish and turtles due to the warm water stream flanking the area; unfortunately limiting sight for the exact same reason. Nevertheless I would recommend this spot at any time since the experience of natural wildlife feels so touchable. If you are into discovering such more secluded spots, just drive past the visitor parking, turn left and follow that road until you reach the parking after a right turn. From here, pack your gear, cross the small inlet and continue on the beach for approx. 400 m.
PS: Thanks to Wiki Camps AU for easily finding night stays, free showers, water and all the other stuff that facilitates the life in a camper van so much! And much gratitute to the Exmouth Dive Center for providing this magnificant underwater footage, especially since that day my GoPro ran out of power!

Canyon Cap Range National Park - Western Australia - Ben And Titi #E79
