Fonty's Pool, Manjimup - Western Australia
While camping at Fonty's Pool in Manjimup, we decided to take a break from the Australian summer heat and spend a day relaxing and swimming in the historic fresh water pool. The pool itself is almost 100 years old, covers about 1 acre and holds over 18 million litres of water! Fonty's pool is an iconic landmark for the town of Manjimup, located 300km south of Perth, Western Australia. Manjimup is named from the Noongar Aboriginal words Manjin (a broad-leafed edible reed) and up (meeting place, or place of). The area is well known for its timber, fruit and vegetable farms, dairy farms, wool, grain and vineyards.
Filmed on the 10th of December 2016 with GoPro HERO5.

Manjimup Truffles
Manjimup lies in the land of the giants, surrounded by karri trees - the tallest species in Western Australia and one of the tallest hardwoods on Earth. That said, it's what lies beneath the ground here that captures the attention and imagination of the world's top chefs and foodies. This is the home of Australia's most successful black truffle industry.
Located in Western Australia's extraordinary South West, Manjimup is the largest producer of Superior Perigord Truffles in the southern hemisphere. Trained dogs are used to sniff out the truffles, which are then exported to premium restaurants worldwide, and used to make a range of truffle products. This is the amazing truffle hunting story, as told by dog trainer Shane and black Labrador Bella.
In the lead up to Margaret River Gourmet Escape 2012, a four-day food and wine festival held in WA's South West from November 22 to 25, Tourism Western Australia uncovered some of the people who call the region home, and who are behind the produce that the region is so well known for..
Thanks to its Mediterranean climate and rich fertile soils, WA's South West has a reputation for producing world-class food and wine. The area is also well known for its pristine beaches, enviable surf breaks, ancient tall timber forests and an abundance of flora and fauna.
