Première étape de notre trip en Australie, Manjimup !
Voici les principaux spots que nous avons visité depuis notre arrivée jusqu'à mi décembre.
Après une semaine et demie passée sur Perth, nous avons bougé sur Manjimup, dans le Western Australia. Nous avons commencé à travailler dans une ferme de fraises, mais nous en sommes très vite partis.
Par la suite sous les précieux conseils de Ben et Jade, nous avons contacté un backpack afin de pouvoir travailler dans de nouvelles fermes. Ici nous avons pu faire de merveilleuses rencontres et améliorer notre Anglais.
Nous avons pris la route fin décembre avec Jade et Ben, direction Melbourne ! La vidéo sur le trip arrivera bientôt !

Deuxième étape de notre trip en Australie, Adelaide !
Un immense Merci à Ben et Jade pour ce road trip et pour les images drones qui sont tout simplement magnifiques.
Voici les principaux spots que nous avons visité depuis notre départ de Manjimup le 30 décembre, jusqu'à notre arrivée à Adelaide le 6 janvier.
Après 2 mois passés à Manjimup, nous avons bougé direction Adelaide, dans le South Australia, en (très bonne !) compagnie de Ben et Jade.
Nous avons traversé le désert de Nullarbor sous 42 degrés sans climatisation dans la voiture !
Nous avons pu observer de nombreux animaux dans leur milieu naturel : aigle et autres oiseaux, émeu, kangourou, diverses variétés de lézard, otaries...
Suite à ce road trip, nous avons rejoint Fanette et Tim à Apollo Bay, et remonté la Great Ocean Road en leur compagnie. La vidéo sur le trip arrivera bientôt !

Golden Grove (Perth, Western Australia)
For many years my family has regularly been travelling to a Citrus Orchard called :Golden Grove to purchase of oranges & mandarins. Golden Grove Citrus Orchard is located 14km along the Chittering Road, north-east from Bullsbrook off Great Northern Highway, 60km from Perth.
The Orchard is situated amidst the undulating hills of the Chittering Valley, where high quality citrus is grown. It consists of over 13,000 trees, containing three varieties of Summer oranges(Valencia).
During the Winter and Spring (peak season for citrus harvest) there are six varieties of Navel oranges including a Red flesh navel.
Other citrus varieties include Lemons, Limes, Grapefruit (Red flesh) and we still grow white flesh grapefruit and the most popular crop Mandarins (several varieties). These crops are only available in Winter and Spring - June to October in Western Australia.
There is always a sample of fruit and our freshly squeezed orange juice available for tasting prior to sale.
Devonshire Teas (tea or coffee with scones, cream and jam) and other snacks are provided in the old restored packing shed on weekends from April to November.
Another feature includes our enclosed barbecue area, suitable for group gatherings and functions, which can also be used for individuals eating area.
NO ADMISSION FEE TO THE ORCHARD. The Orchard is open seven days a week for fruit and other local product sales.

We finally make it to Manjimup in the evening where we will be staying on a farm for the next couple of nights.

Why we LOVE South West Australia - Busselton & Margaret River Ep.72
We trekked down to Busselton and settled ourselves into a van park for 2 nights. Our good mates Blaine & Shenaid from Camper Australis had made some last minute plans to come join us for the weekend. We explored the surrounds, visited some breweries, checked out some markets and fished off the iconic Busselton jetty.
After visiting Dunsborough and the surrounds, we really loved the atmosphere here. This has been the first place on our trip, we have both said we could live here. Eagle bay and Garnet Rocks took our breath away and are up there with some of our favourite beaches! Amz couldn’t resisit not visiting Simmo’s ice-creamery. She was in heaven trying to choose a flavour from their 40+ flavour range.
We are starting to get a taste of this south west, and understanding why people rave about it. Its still early days, but so far we are loving our time down here and can’t wait to see more. Next stop Margaret River through to Pemberton and surrounds.
Margaret River & surrounds
After leaving Busselton, we headed south into the Margaret River region. Setting ourselves up at ‘The Olive Farm’, a low cost campsite. You need to be self contained and all sites are unpowered at $15 a night (for 2 people). We found this a great spot to base ourselves while exploring all the surrounds.
For our first day we headed to Gracetown for a swim. The local beach had a pontoon anchored out in the water, so swam out did some flips between our sun baking. Working up quite the appetite and thirst, that we stopped by at the Cheeky Monkey for lunch. We then had a leisurely stroll through the town of Cowaramup which is only a small town, but covered in dairy cow sculptures. Rusty was a little unsure as we walked by them.
Prevelly was a nice sleepy town. Kurt had a fish at the River mouth and from the rocks just south of Gnarabup beach. We had a coffee at the White Elephant Cafe, which overlooked Gnarabup beach and boat ramp. It was quite a busy little spot with plenty of people coming and going, and this was midweek. While in Prevelly we also found a cool little cave. A good old ‘Wikicamps’ special, told us where to park and where the track was to reach it.
On another day, we also visited Yallingup to see all the sights around the area. We checked out Rabbits beach, Torpedo rock, spotted dolphins at Smiths beach and walked a little bit of the cape to cape track. The Injidup Natural spa was definitely amazing to see. A natural spa from the waves of the ocean, crushing over rocks which trickle down like a waterfall, giving a natural spa feel. Be sure to visit on high tide so you can see the full ‘spa effect’. c
A total of nine nights we spent at the Olive Farm, as it was so nice and relaxing. Each site had be designed so that you wouldn’t directly see your neighbours. It had a beautiful walk down to the river, through the forest with signs identifying each tree species. Just down the road was the Colonial Brewing Company, which does $10 pizzas every Friday night. We can confirm both pizzas and beers were delicious.
Overall we ate well, saw the sights, got a real feel for the area and had a lovely time in Margaret River and surrounds.
