В Хорватии, на побережье Адриатического моря, в западной части полуострова Истрия расположился городок Пореч, пройдя свой многовековой путь, этот поистине древний город, дожил до наших дней. Не даром центральная часть Поречи внесена в список мирового наследия Юнеско. Как следствие бурной истории, Пореч славится и своей многонациональностью. Поселение здесь существовало с доисторических времен, но лишь около 2000 лет назад, во времена правления Октавиана Августа, Парентиум (так назывался Пореч в те времена) получил статус города. В разное время городом правили лангобарды, остготы, франки, византийцы, славяне. После падения Римской империи Пореч принадлежал Венеции, а после ее развала таковой перешел к Австрии. После первой мировой войны Пореч вместе с полуостровом Истрия перешел Италии, а после второй стал частью Югославии. В 1991, после распада последней, город стал частью независимой Хорватии.
Многие здания в Старом городе построены на фундаментах древнеримских построек. На площади Марафор расположились остатки римского форума. Так же в Старом городе имеется большое количество зданий венецианского периода.
Нынешний Пореч, тихий зеленый городок, с великолепной архитектурой. Прогуливаясь по старинным улицам Старого города, попадаешь в эпоху средневековья. В базилике Святого Ефразиуса время от времени проводятся вечера классической музыки. На побережье расположилась масса отелей, теннисных кортов, спортивных площадок. На многолюдной набережной расположилась масса кафе и баров где можно отдохнуть, любуясь великолепными видами. Чистейшее море омывает великолепные лагуны и многочисленные островки. Все пляжи превосходно адаптированы для курортного отдыха и располагают всеми удобствами.

Poreč-Parenzo
Poreč (tal. Parenzo) je grad na zapadnoj obali Istre čije središte se nalazi na malom poluotoku. Grad je jedno od naposjećenijih mjesta u Istri i dobitnik najviše turističkih priznanja i nagrada u Hrvatskoj. Gosti mogu odsjesti i u manjim turističkim odredištima u okolici grada, od kojih su najpoznatija Vrsar i Funtana.
Poreč je star 2.000 godina. Rimska vojska je na ovoj lokaciji osnovala naselje koje je kasnije postalo rimska kolonija s nazivom Colonia Iulia Parentium.
