Brunellodi Montalcino has become one of the handful of DOCG wines hunted by wine collectors, because its depth of flafor and tongue-curling tannins give it the potential to age for decade. The lighter-styled Rosso di Montalcino, sort of a younger, declassified Brunello, was created so people could drink a more immediately accessible Montalcino to age; DOCG law requires a minimum of four years before Brunello can be relised on the market.

Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino Offering
I brought this bottle of 2008 Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino to the party this weekend and it was absolutely beautiful, soft and round with a smooth silky texture on the tongue and bright red cherry fruit, drinking at or near its peak already. This wine was more enjoyable to drink today than the Soldera Brunello di Montalcino Case Basse 2004 which sells for over $300 per bottle!!
That is why Montalcino is such and exciting wine region, you can still find some of their top producers wines for under $50 per bottle!!

A time to relax and unwind. Wine Wednesday's are to help you all find affordable/enjoyable wines! The one that is being reviewed is Freakshow which is a Cabernet Sauvignon. I first tried this wine at a Lounge and I paid $46 dollars for a bottle. Later I ran across the wine for below $20!! This is a fairly dry wine with a high alcohol percentage, so if you are into a sweeter a wine... you may not like this one.
