Grand Canyon Helicopter Landing - Free Spirit
Fly to the Grand Canyon in a helicopter, and land at the bottom for some ground exploration! The Free Spirit is a breathtaking excursion departing from Henderson, Nevada going to our private landing bluff by the Colorado River within the West Rim of the Grand Canyon. Along the way, marvel at the vivid desert scenery and catch a views of some of Nevada’s iconic landmarks. You’ll see historic Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Fortification Hill - an extinct volcano.
Free Spirit Highlights:
Grand Canyon West Rim: part of Hualapai Indian tribal territory and lies close to the Nevada-Arizona border. It is distinct for its rich desert landscape and colors. As you fly among its towering walls and layers, note that you are witnessing millions of years of Earth’s history right before you. Your helicopter will land at our exclusive landing site just right above the Colorado River, where you will be treated to champagne and a light snack. Here you can feel completely immersed and in awe of the canyon’s splendor, with time for ground exploration and plenty of photo opportunities.
Hoover Dam: Built during the Great Depression, Hoover Dam holds back the mighty Colorado River along with generating power for over a million residents in Nevada, California, and Arizona. As you fly over this historic landmark, notice the surrounding Black Canyon–a 12 mile stretch of rigid ebony terrain.
Lake Mead: The Lake Mead recreational area is a beloved desert oasis sitting on the Nevada-Arizona border. It serves as Hoover Dam’s reservoir and is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world. Spanning over 2,000 square miles and boasting a bright blue contrast to the surrounding Mojave Desert, it has also become a popular local boating and fishing destination for many Las Vegas and Boulder City residents.
The Free Spirit is perfect for those looking to go on a Grand Canyon helicopter tour from Henderson, Nevada (just outside Las Vegas - includes complimentary transportation to and from hotels within five miles of the Strip).

President's Secret Service Helicopter Fly Over Me
video uploaded from my mobile phone
My Grand Canyon Overflight
This was me overflying the Grand Canyon in Arizona in a Piper Cherokee at 11,000ft. A pretty special experience and one I'll never forget.
Part of my month in Arizona building flight hours before my commercial pilot's licence. I departed Chandler (KCHD) earlier that day and flew north to the Grand Canyon, before overflying then returning via Grand Canyon National (KGCN) and Sedona (KSEZ).
I also logged this as my Commercial Pilot Licence qualifying cross country flight as it met all of the requirements, and looks great in my log book!

The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its mega casino–hotels and associated entertainment. A growing retirement and family city, Las Vegas is the 29th-most populous city in the United States, with a population of 603,488 at the 2013 United States Census Estimates.[6] The 2013 population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 2,027,828.[4] The city is one of the top three leading destinations in the United States for conventions, business, and meetings.[7] In addition, the city's metropolitan area has more AAA Five Diamond hotels than any other city in the world, and is a global leader in the hospitality industry.[8][9] Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world The center of the gambling and entertainment industry, however, is located on the Las Vegas Strip, outside the city limits in the surrounding unincorporated communities of Paradise and Winchester in Clark County. Las Vegas is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Nevada and the county seat of Clark County.[5] Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining, and nightlife and is the leading financial and cultural center for Southern Nevada. The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its consolidated casino--hotels and associated entertainment. A growing retirement and family city, Las Vegas is the 31st-most populous city in the United States, with a population at the 2010 census of 583,756. The 2010 population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 1,951,269. Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.
The major attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos and the hotels. Most of the hotel casinos are in the city's downtown area, which has been the focal point of the city's gaming industry since its early days.
Most casinos are downtown on the Fremont Street Experience, The Stratosphere being the major exception. Fremont East, adjacent to the Fremont Street Experience, was granted variances to allow bars to be closer together, similar to the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, the goal being to attract a different demographic than the Strip attracts.
Las Vegas got its start with casinos in 1931 with the opening of the Northern Club (now the La Bayou).[31][32] The most notable of the early casinos may have been Binion's Horseshoe (now Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel) while it was run by Benny Binion. Boyd Gaming has a major presence downtown operating the California Hotel and Casino, Fremont Hotel and Casino and the Main Street Casino. The Golden Gate Hotel and Casino is the oldest hotel in the Fremont Street Experience. The Golden Nugget is the largest hotel and casino in the city. The Plaza Hotel & Casino on Main Street was the railway station until Amtrak discontinued service. Other casinos include the El Cortez, The D, Four Queens, Gold Spike Hotel and Casino and the Las Vegas Club.
The gambling and entertainment industry in Las Vegas is mostly focused in the Las Vegas Strip. The Strip is not actually located in city limits, but instead in the surrounding unincorporated communities of Paradise and Winchester. The largest and most notable casinos and buildings are located there.
