Sunny Off-Licence Robbery - 21 December 2016
A man brandishing a gun targeted an off-licence in Little Lever.
Shortly after 5.40pm on Wednesday 21 December 2016, a man went into Sunny off-license on Booth Road and threatened the man behind the counter with a gun and demanded money. The man behind the counter reached down underneath the till and this startled the offender, who fled empty-handed in the direction of Mythem Road.
Detectives have released CCTV footage and are appealing for witnesses.
Detective Constable Pam Chandler of GMP’s Bolton Borough said: “Fortunately, the man wasn’t injured in the robbery but the fear the offender instilled in him will stay with him.
“This man used extreme violence to target a small business and we will not tolerate this.
“We have launched an investigation and I would urge you to come forward if you can help us.
“If anyone recognises the man in the CCTV or has any information about the robbery, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
