No Alternate Routes To Nelliyampathy; Passengers Worried| Mathrubhumi News
Nelliyampathy: The people of flood -hit Nelliyampathy in Palakkad district are facing serious travel difficulties as there are no alternative roads to the hill station as several landslides have damaged and blocked the Nelliyampathy pass. The hill area remained cut off for many days as the 30 km-long Nenmara - Nelliampathy road was damaged severely in flood and landslides. The traffic along the only road to hilltop was regularly disrupted for hours due to landslides during the rainy season. Vehicular traffic could be restored partially even now and the roads are dangerous in many areas. Only small vehicles are allowed .The commuters have to depend only jeep services as the KSRTC and private operators have suspended their services completely.
