Meiji-Jingu - Tokyo - 明治神宮 - 4K Ultra HD
Tokyo Meiji-Jingu - 明治神宮 - 4K Ultra HD : Located in Shibuya, Meiji-Jingu (Meiji Shrine) is a Japanese holy site dedicated to the spirit of the Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shoken. Built only recently (from 1915 to 1926), the shrine was built in the traditional ‘nagare-zukuri’ style using mainly copper and Japanese cypress.
Unfortunately, like many other buildings around Tokyo, Meiji-Jingu was destroyed during the Second World War and it is only thanks to the generous donations from Japanese citizens that the structure was rebuilt and restored in 1958.
Open to all, Meiji-Jingu is one of the most visited temples in Japan and also a place where everyone can come and celebrate their union in the purest Japanese tradition.

TOKYO TRIP ???????? - Day 2 - Shinjuku, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and amazing Okonomiyaki in Shibuya
We were in Tokyo for 7 days, and vlogged our whole trip! This is Day 2, where we explore Shinjuku, Meiji Jingu, Harajuku, and Shibuya on foot. What an awesome 2nd day in Tokyo!

Tokyo Trip Day 6:
In Shinjuku, we explored the Yodobashi Camera shop, a Sega center's 1st floor full of UFO prize machines, ate some sushi.
We then went to Meiji Jingu, the shrine to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shoken. We hung a good luck wish around an ancient tree.
Afterwards we wandered into Harajuku, a quirky fashion district where it's full of color, weirdness, and famous Harajuku crepes.
After awhile, we made our way into Shibuya and visited the famous Shibuya crosswalk, which is known as the busiest crosswalk in the world!
We got really hungry and walked through a love hotel district in Shibuya to the Suzume No Oyado restaurant, a okonomiyaki restaurant made from a converted, historic Geisha brothel.

First Day In Tokyo! Meiji Shrine, Harajuku & Imperial Palace⎮Japan Trip 2018
Hi beautiful friends! I hope you are all well. Today was my first day in Tokyo, and it still feels surreal that I am here. Like a dream. A dream come true. Although this was only the first day, I have truly fallen in love with Japan, and my heart is so full of love and gratitude. On this day, I visited the beautiful Meiji Jingu Shrine, Harajuku Takeshita Street, and the Imperial Palace, and had an amazing lunch at Brown Rice Organics and dinner at Ain Soph Shinjuku. I'm beyond excited for the coming days in Japan, and I really hope that you enjoyed this vlog! Thank you for coming along with me, and I am sending my love xxx

Meiji Jingu: A Shinto Shrine Surrounded by Forest
Located near Harajuku Station and one of Tokyo's top attractions, Meiji Jingu is situated in the middle of a huge forest. The shrine was completed in 1921 and dedicated to Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shoken. Most of the buildings were destroyed during World War II but thanks to a fundraising effort, the shrine was reconstructed in 1958. The area is covered by 120,000 trees consisting of 365 different species, which were donated by people from all over Japan.

Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park: Tokyo Top Things to Do
Meiji Shrine is easily on our list of Tokyo things to do!! It's a beautiful Shinto shrine located in Shibuya dedicated to Emperor Meiji. We went at sunset and the shrine was completely empty. It was like we had the place to ourselves! Next door we visited Yoyogi park. A peaceful oasis in the middle of the bustling city. Yoyogi Park has places to eat, a forest to get lost through and great music! If you are visiting Tokyo, these are definitely our top sights to see!
Sorry for the re-post everyone! On a different note, we had a wonderful time exploring Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi park. We even got to play with super cute bunnies! It's definitely one of the best attractions in Tokyo.

Meiji Shrine (明治神宮 Meiji Jingū), located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. On the eve of new year, Japanese usually visit a Shinto shrine to prepare for the worship - Hatsumōde (初詣) of the new year. Meiji Shrine is the most popular location in Japan for hatsumōde.
At the Purification Fountain:
First, take the wooden ladle in your right hand, fill it with water, and pour the water over your left hand.
Take the ladle in the left hand and clean your right hand respectively.
Then, pour water into the palm of your left hand, bring it up to your face and rinse your mouth. Do not drink the water; instead, spit it out again.
Clean your left hand once more. Then, lift the ladle in a vertical position to clean it with the remaining water before putting it back.
Offering your prayers at a shrine:
First, put a little change into the big red box at the entrance of the honden, or the main building, and ring the bell or move the gong if the bell is not there.
‘ni-rei, ni-hakushu, ichi-rei’ is a phrase that Japanese people use to remember the proper order for praying at a shrine. It means ‘two bows, two claps, one bow.’
Bow two times - Clap two times - Bow one time

EXPLORING THE MEIJI SHRINE IN TOKYO 明治神宮
The best shrine in Tokyo is without doubt Meiji Jingu, situated in the heart of Tokyo, this place is a world away from the hustle and bustle of nearby Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku. Wandering through the forest and passing under the massive Torii gates is an amazing experience. Don't forget to use the Chozuya for ceremonial purification and check out the towering walls of wine and sake barrels as well! The Meiji Shrine is one of our favourite places to visit in Japan!

In Japan: Visiting Meiji Jingu Shinto Shrine & Inner Garden in Shibuya, Tokyo
The last of my October travel videos from Japan. I however still have 3 more videos to finish editing from my trip to Korea :)
When we visited during the fall the blooming period was over, but it was still so beautiful. Editing this video I noticed that me walking on the uneven ground (plus recording with my phone instead of camera) made the footage less stable then usual, but hopefully that does not take away from the beauty of the place.
