In this video we will show you the Menam Khong Under Water World | Nakhon Phanom Under Water World | Nakhon Phanom Aquarium 2019! This place is really interesting and they have many varieties of fresh water fish which includes a giant catfish about 1m long. There was a huge tank with a walk-through tunnel and some fish that looked like small sharks.
The Menam Khong Under Water World in Nakhon Phanom takes you into the river with various aquaria displaying rare and endangered fish species besides common ones.
Various studies of the aquatic species in Mekong river mention there are 96 types of fish species in the river and 13 of them rare and endangered species.
The Under Water World is part of the Science Center for Education and the price for the entrance ticket for the water world is Adult = 30 Thb / person and Children = 20 THB / person.
The Under Water World can be combined with sightseeings in Nakhon Phanom including a walk on the Mekong Boulevard with great views on the Laos mountains at the other side. Other sightseeing locations are on route towards Nakhon Phanom City so our advise is to ask your host or hostess for best attractions based on your interests.

Mekong River Changes Colour From Brown To Blue
Environmentalists were worried today (04/12) after the Mekong river changed from its distinctive muddy brown to a light ocean blue. The Mekong river has been ravaged by droughts and water shortages, with its average height at its lowest in the last 50 years with, some parts only 3ft deep. Bizarrely, the stretch of the river in Nakhon Phanom, northeastern Thailand, has now changed from its muddy brown shade to clear blue. Locals and tourists crowded round the river bank to witness the phenomenon last Friday (29/11) afternoon. The president of the Nakhon Phanom Environment Preservation Club, Arthit Panasoon, blamed China for building a dam along the river which have slowed the flow of water and deprived the river of sediment, which causes the brown colour.
