on our way back to wurzburg Germany from the North sea on my 23rd birthday we got totally lost in Belgium. in the distance we saw this tower and decided to investigate:)
it's was a beautiful War Memorial.
I had pictures at one point but they're long lost. but I just came across this footage and decided to post it:)

The Memorial of the interallied is a memorial in the Belgian city of Liège which was built in the interwar period to honor the Allied veterans of the First World War. The art-deco monument includes the tower as a civil monument, the Sacred Heart Church as a religious monument and the esplanade.

Children sing, statue unveiled in Liege to mark centenary of end of WW1
(9 Nov 2018) The city where the first battle of World War I began commemorated the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War with songs of love and peace on Friday.
In August 1914, the German military engaged its first attack in the eastern Belgian city of Liege.
On the 9th of November 1918, the announcement was made that German Kaiser Wilhelm would abdicate, which effectively began the end the war.

À Cointe, près de Liège, au Mémorial interallié, le centième anniversaire de l’invasion de la Belgique par l’Allemagne, a été commémoré le 4 août dernier. Une Europe en paix, une compréhension mutuelle ainsi qu’un dialogue respectueux entre nations étaient les messages récurrents des discours prononcés par les chefs d’État et familles royales issus de 83 pays.
