We were back on the Canterbury Plain and out of the snow country for a while. Not for long, as things turned out, however.
This gave us a few days to shop and sightsee around the towns and to do a little more metal detecting.
This was our only visit to Methven, which was full of ski-ers, since it is the dormitory town for the Mt Hutt skifield. Spring lambs were appearing everywhere and it was great to be driving through such beautiful country.
