【narration】 Everyone knows about “MICHI-NO-EKI”(roadside stations) right? How many MICHI-NO-EKIs do you think there are in Iwate? The correct answer is 30. They offer specialty items and other foods, each with a store that offers a taste of the local area. Today we are going to tell you about “MICHI-NO-EKI Mizusawa” in Oshu and the MICHI-NO-EKI Stamp Rally.
MICHI-NO-EKI Mizusawa is on the bank of the Kitakami River along Route 343 connecting Oshu and Rikuzentakata. The first floor is a store selling specialty items and other souvenirs. One popular item is “Sesame Soft Ice Cream.” Some people come here just to eat this. One of their original goods is KOJINANBAN. Each one is handmade, making them very popular. They also have HATTO products and adlay tea. The second floor is a restaurant. The “SUITON with Oshu Beef” is highly recommended!! There is plenty of meat, and a quantity that will satisfy you. Take a rest while driving. Stop on by and buy some souvenirs.
Next we have some information on the “Iwate MICHI-NO-EKI IHATOV Stamp Rally.” You can join in a raffle for a stupendous prize by collecting stamps from the prefectures 30 MICHI-NO-EKI’s!! Various prizes are available based on the number of stamps you collect. And if you collect stamps from all EKI’s you can receive a “Certificate of Completion.”
There is also a Tohoku MICHI-NO-EKI Stamp Rally 2014 under way. There are lots of prizes available, including a “Completion Prize.”
