The undiscovered paradise of 'Little Andamans' -Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Must See) #AfroInAndamans
While in the Andamans, I felt like I knew the places I was going to visit and the agenda was in place. But along the way travel has a wonderful way of creeping up with surprises and if there is anything I have learnt is to cherish them and not shun them. That is what happened when I met Vibha & Tal in Neil Island, I made friends I didn't anticipate and they were kind enough to invite me this other island I had no plan of visiting, LITTLE ANDAMANS. This island is about 25 kms long and was severely hit by the tsunami in 2004 but such is the resilience of man, that the island still thrives and is known for surfing and beautiful treks across. There are no fancy resorts or airbnb's here, only some homestays which are run by local families and the acoomodoations are simple and food, homely. Joining us on this trip was Sharanya at Port Blair after which we took an overnight ship to Hutbay which is the only way of getting there. After a bit of hunting, we landed up at Hawva Beach Resort which is run by Bidyut & his beautiful family who were ever so accomodating to all our requests. This island is huge but the people few and tourists even lesser making this one of the lesser known treasures in the Andamans and one you should definitely explore. Owing to rains, there were some places we couldn't explore but what we saw, stole our hearts. I know I am definitely visiting this island again and this time I am going to stay longer. The sparse amount of people, the beautiful sights and more importantly the lack of connectivity to even make phone calls definitely adds to its charm. Here's a small vlog of the experience put together by Aashna and what a wonderful job she's done. Enjoy what is possibly one of the last vlogs from #AfroInAndamans, I hope you guys enjoyed these and probably even got inspired to travel a bit, maybe even visit the Andamans. This is Afrobawa signing out!

Divyaramam Park ::: Tirupati: Children-centric forest park
places to visit in tirupati
TIRUPATI: Forest department officials have got more than 80 per cent of the work on the park in Tirupati done and are planning to open it shortly. Authorities say that its launch would be by the end of the month. Divya Ramam adjacent to the existing Jungle Book (forest park near Kapilteertham) has been developed with an investment of around Rs 2 crore under Nagara Vanam project. It is all set to present a new experience and feeling to citizens with the arrangements made by the forest department.
A cafeteria which will be run by Vana Samrakshana Samithi members is being setup in a French style with organic and healthy morning meals and beverages. Officials plan to setup products like Araku Coffee and other products certified by the forest department and sold through Girija Cooperative Corporation.
The children play area, landscapes and rose garden are completed and they are working on planting Rasi Vanam (plants that refer astrological signs) and medicinal garden. Authorities have designed ‘an education route’ to Divya Ramam where they have displaying information about birds and plants. Connecting the Jungle Book and Divya Ramam is a canopy walk
Morning walkers in this forest park can also experience trekking, where three mini trekking paths have been prepared. People from Tirupati often go to Jungle Book for bird watching as there are more than 25 species of birds. The granite monoliths sculptures of animals make the visitors wonder if these sculptures are made and brought from Chennai.
Speaking to DC, divisional forest officer Tirupati D. Phani Kumar Naidu said, “We will be opening the forest park soon after completing the pending works. We are done with 80 per cent of the works. Keeping the avians in mind, we have arranged more than 200 bird nests in the park. Apart from all these, there will be boating soon in the forest park in the near future. Very soon, citizens can experience a well developed forest park in Tirupati.”
