Places to see in ( Canary Islands - Spain ) Mirador Morro Velosa
Mirador Morro Velosa is considered to be the most beautiful viepoint on Fuerteventura. The unique panorama from a hight of about 650 metres offers a view of the north of Fuerteventura with the dues of Corralejo plus Lanzarote - given the weather is good.
The Mirador is situated between Valle de Santa Inés and Betancuria. It is locatet on the Tegú mountain. You can already see it from a distance from the road. This viewpoint is a must for those who want to discover a different side of Fuerteventura to the tourist centres. The interior of the island, a Unesco Biosphere Reserve, will amaze visitors with its rugged landscapes, completely devoid of tourist areas or sand dunes. An almost endless succession of rounded hills unfolds in front of visitors’ eyes, coloured in ochre tones and, between them, winding canyons with little towns and villages in their depths. It is an amazing landscape that evokes serenity and spaciousness.
Morro Velosa is the perfect place to enjoy this landscape of barren beauty and also for recreation in the lookout building, designed by the famous and prolific local artist César Manrique. This elegant house with a wooden porch and tiled roof is clothed in the colours of the landscape that surrounds it. Inside, visitors can learn about the geological past of this volcanic island, see an excellent model of the island and stop for coffee; ideal if you’re en-route to the ancient capital of the island, Betancuria.

Fuerteventura | The Road to Betancuria Valley - The Two Kings, Mirador Morro Velosa & Betancuria
The road to Betancuria Valley includes the following three stops: Mirador Morro Velosa, The Two King statues of Ayose and Guise and Betancuria, the old Capital.
Mirador Morro Velosa is designed by the designer and architect César Manrique, most famous for attractions on the neighbouring island of Lanzarote. Inside the house you are presented with the islands volcanic and geological history. It is also a fantastic lookout and on a clear day, you can see Lanzarote in the distance. It's also great at night for stargazing as the lightpolution on top of mount Tegu is ideal for watching the stars.
The Two Kings - Ayose and Guise are considered the kings or mengtzeis (leaders) of the two Guanches kingdoms - Maxorata in north and Jandia in the south - prior to the arrival of Catholics. Where as Lanzarote was easily dealt with my the catholics, the invasion of Fuerteventura was more problematic, however as the end, Ayose and Guide has little to no chance to succesfully defend the island.
Betancuria was the first and until today the longest standing capital of Fuerteventura, 1404 to 1834. Named after Jean de Betancuria. It was razed by pirates in 1593 and rebuild shortly after.

Mirador (Aussichtspunkt) MORRO VELOSA (Fuerteventura)

Fuerteventura Island Vacation Spain [Charity From The Mind]
Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago situated in the Atlantic Ocean. This island is famous for stunning beaches, picturesque villages and year-round sunshine.
Just half an hour north of the international airport is Corralejo, one of the island’s largest resort towns and the perfect place from which to explore the Corralejo Dunes National Park.
At the island’s southern end is Morro Jable, a town famed for seafood restaurants and a picturesque lighthouse.
Gorgeous beaches run the length of the Jandia Peninsula, reaching all the way to Costa Calma. For something different, check out the pitch-black sands of Ajuy Beach.
Should you tire of Fuerteventura’s beaches, head inland to explore the island’s amazing volcanic landscapes and villages. Take the winding roads up to Mirador Morro Velosa on Mount Tegu for the best views on the entire island, then visit Puerto del Rosario, the island’s capital.
With it’s long Spanish history, Fuerteventura is also home to many romantic buildings and churches such as the parish church at La Oliva and the town hall in Pajara.
Cotillo is perhaps the most picturesque village on the entire island. Stroll the old harbour, which is still used by fisherman, and admire the original windmills.
