Let's take a Tour of Miramichi: Chatham, French Fort Cove, Newcastle
Check out the lovely New Brunswick town of Miramichi: actually two towns that have been combined. First, we drive into Chatham via Route 11, then cross the river, make a stop at French Fort Cove for some beautiful fall foliage, then drive into Newcastle, before leaving on Route 8.
MyDrivelapse.com and Takemytrip.com provide driving videos and stories to help you plan your trip. Check out hundreds of videos on my YouTube channel. Subscribe if you like it! Dozens of new videos are on the way in the coming weeks.
I made this trip in early October, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).

Tours Through Time - Mini Movie - Ile Beaubears Island - Miramichi, NB
Visit Beaubears Island, a place where fortunes were made and lives were lost, and learn the role Beaubears Island played in Miramichi and Canada's history.
Ile Beaubears Island is a national historic ship building site and Parks Canada national park. Currently unoccupied, this Island was once home to the 19th century wooden shipbuilding industry. The character tour takes place at 2pm every day in July/August. Once you step off that boat, everybody that you see is from that era.

An Eveinig on the Miramichi River
We loaded up a bunch of good spirited folks on to Azade Hachey's boat called The Max Aitken and headed out on the river for an evening of good food, adventure and each others company. The problem came when we had chewed our way through many pounds of jiucy lobster but had no forks for the many home-made desserts Jane had made for the occasion. The following is how the problem was resolved.....

Bass fishing on the Miramichi River - New Brunswick, Canada
The Miramichi River is famous for fly fishing. Traditionally this pertains to Atlantic Salmon, but in recent years the population of striped bass has risen to unprecedented levels. No license required, this 3 week open season for fishing stripers has become quite the spectacle in Eastern Canada.
This year marked the inaugural Miramichi Striper Cup which has already proven itself to be a classic in the making. There are so many striped bass that the law has been put into effect that anyone with a fishing rod is permitted to keep 1 bass per day during the fishing season.
