I just learned of this amazing old preserved farm house residence very close to where I live. It's called Miyano Old House. It's was donated to Meguro ward, and was occupied by the family members until about 2009 - It's really an amazing place if you like old Japanese architecture and artifacts. The residential structure, and so many of the farming implements have been well preserved. It had been in the Miyano family for over 200 years. Even old fixtures that were modernized were retained in storage and are displayed. It's an incredible find. I've been living within three kilometers of this place for almost 20 years and had never heard of it before. If you go there is a 200 yen entrance fee, and you'll more than likely get a personalized tour by the caretaker. The Miyano family must have been really wealthy and quite large, because many of the larger residences surrounding this place are occupied by people named Miyano
