Rocky Mountain National Park - Colorado
In this episode of Cheap Family Travel, we headed to Rocky Mountain National Park in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Rocky Mountain National Park is adjacent to the town of Estes Park, Colorado, and it is one of the great things to do in Colorado. Our Rocky Mountain vacation included a drive through the park, where we saw elk, moose, and deer, and we went on hikes that led us to beautiful lakes and waterfalls. We also went horseback riding through valleys and fields of wildflowers. Rocky Mountain National Park accommodations include beautiful and inexpensive campgrounds inside Rocky Mountain National Park and in Estes Park. Only two hours from Denver, visitors put RMNP the top of their list of things to do in Colorado, and it was ranked the #1 Outdoor and Adventure Destination in the United States by Trip Advisor. For more information about how to plan your own Rocky Mountain trip to Rocky Mountain National Park or Estes Park, watch more Cheap Family Travel videos at

SEASON 2: SOUTH WEST | ESTES Park, Colorado and Rocky Mountain National Park
We stayed in Estes Park, Colorado at the Jelly Stone RV Park and visited Rocky Mountain National Park. While there we drove Old Fall River road to Chasm Falls and up to Alpine Visitor Center.
We hiked Bear Lake, with our granddaughter and then hiked up to Alberta Falls and Mills lake with my daughter. The next day Kelly, our daughter and I hiked up to Deer Mountain, the view was beautiful by the lingering smoke from the California and Colorado left a haze in the view.
The girls went horse back riding at Jackson Stables located at the YMCA of Estes park. Great ride with great service.

A Day of Hiking in Cornerstone, Colorado June 28, 2010
Last month, Annabel and I had the special privilege of being invited to camp out, horseback ride, and hike at the very special and beautiful private mountain resort of Cornerstone, Colorado, near Montrose, with its new wrangler and my friend, Julia Seglund. This incredible resort community straddles the counties of Montrose and Ouray over 6,000 acres. The terrain is varied, including high Alpine meadows and Aspen Forests, offering up sweeping, spectacular views of the surrounding San Juan Mountains. The planned community, a work in progress but well underway, includes an amazing Greg Norman designed 18-hole golf course (which I had the pleasure of playing the week before), a clubhouse, restaurant, pro shop, hiking and equestrian trails and facilities, and in the winter, cross country skiing and snow-mobiling, and much more. There are 412 planned home sites, from small quarter-acre village homesteads to 20+-acre ranch homesteads. As a Realtor, I've been invited to tour this resort several times over the past few years at various stages of development, and each time, I'm impressed over and over again. For more information, visit cornerstonecolorado.com. For information on real estate investment opportunities in Cornerstone, please contact me. In the meantime, and enjoy the video!
