Brutally Fast Ferrari 458 Test Drive Maranello, Italy - POV - GoPro
Make sure your volume is up! Ride along with me as I get an insanely quick test drive of a Ferrari 458 Italia on the roads around Maranello. Listen to the sound of the 4.5 L V8 at 9000 RPM as I try to keep the car under control on the narrow and sometimes bumpy roads! Fabio at Push Start was a great codriver to have and let me have fun while keeping me in check. This was a half hour test drive that got into some of the country side. In the beginning you will see some short clips from inside the Ferrari museum, which is also highly recommended!

Ferrari F60, Museo Ferrari Maranello, Maranello, Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, Europe
The Ferrari F60 is a Formula One motor racing car, which Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro used to compete in the 2009 Formula One season. The car was unveiled on 12 January 2009. The F60, the 55th single-seater car produced by Ferrari to compete in Formula One, was first launched online on 12 January 2009. The car was named F60 to celebrate the fact that 2009 is Ferrari's 60th year in Formula One, the only team to have competed every year. Felipe Massa undertook the debut run of the car with a shakedown at Mugello later that day. The car was initially intended to debut at Ferrari's home Fiorano track, but the venue was changed due to poor weather conditions at Maranello. On average, the Ferrari F60 is 1.9 seconds faster than the last car, despite the new regulations. In the 2009 season, FIA banned the large bargeboards in front of the radiator and the sidepods. It also placed limits on the wheelbase, making it shorter, simpler front splitter, narrower rear spoiler and certain underside air flows, so that it is less disruptive to the car behind. The Ferrari F60 responded to all of this by improving tiny details from the F2008. The front splitter is located further away from the front wheel, and now has only 1 layer. Ferrari claims this improves air flow to the wheels. The F60 is only fitted with 1-tread slick tires, and a simpler suspension positioned a bit backward in angle. Ferrari removed the large airflow plates and replaced it with a small one, also adjusting some underside air flow. The side mirrors are located at the edge of the car's floor. The FIA's ban on small side wings led to the creation of a cleaner sidepods acceptable of the smaller engine, and a smooth underside of the chassis. The rear diffuser is revised to meet the regulations that stated it has to produce less downforce. The F60 scored its first points in Bahrain, the fourth race of the season. Kimi Räikkönen finished sixth, gaining three points for Ferrari. They had scored points at each race since. Felipe Massa had an accident in the Hungarian Grand Prix involving a spring from Rubens Barrichello's Brawn GP car falling off and striking him on his helmet. He did not start the race and for the rest of the season, he was replaced by Ferrari test driver, Luca Badoer and ex-Force India driver Giancarlo Fisichella. In early August 2009 Ferrari announced that they had stopped developing the F60 in order to concentrate on the 2010 car. The F60 won its first and only race of 2009 at the hands of Räikkönen at the Belgian Grand Prix, after starting 6th on the grid. They eventually finished fourth in the constructors standings, just behind McLaren, and making 2009 the worst season for Ferrari since 1993. Räikkönen was Ferrari's highest points scoring driver in 2009, finishing sixth in the standings with 48 points, one adrift of fifth-placed Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.

Ferrari 512 S, Museo Ferrari Maranello, Maranello, Modena, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, Europe
Ferrari 512 S was the designation of 26 five litre sports cars built until January 1970, related to the Ferrari P sports prototypes. The V12-powered cars were entered in the 1970 International Championship for Makes by the factory Scuderia Ferrari and private teams. Later that year, modified versions resembling the main competitor Porsche 917 were called Ferrari 512 M (for modificata). In the 1971 International Championship for Makes, the factory focused on the new Ferrari 312PB and abandoned the 512 which was only entered by privateers. From 1972 onwards, the 512 (as the 917) was withdrawn from the world championship following a change in the regulations, and some 512 in private hands were entered in CanAm and Interserie races. Ferrari 512 is the name of several race and road cars built by Ferrari. The name might indicate that the displacement of the V12 engine would be roughly 5.0 L. This may not always be the case since Ferrari would sometimes use the rather odd system of designating individual cylinder displacement for their V12 engines. For example, in the cases of the 250 GTO or 365 Daytona, when times 12, will give a total displacement of 3000 and 4380 cc. However, in the specific case of world sports car championship and the FIA /24 hours of Le Mans Sports 25 racing cars, regulations in those days restricted maximum displacement to 5.0 L. The Ferrari 512 displaced 4993 cc (bore 87.0 mm, stroke 70.0 mm) so that the 512 designation should be interpreted as 5.0 L/12 cylinders. Later flat-12 powered Ferrari road-cars also used this type of designation. Until 1967, Ferrari raced four litre prototypes (see Ferrari P), but due to high speeds achieved in Le Mans also by the seven litre V8 Ford GT40, the rules were changed for 1968 limiting Group 6 Prototypes to a maximum engine capacity of 3.0 litres, as in Formula 1. Despite having a suitable engine, Ferrari sat out the 1968 season, to return in 1969 with the Ferrari 312P. In that year, Porsche had taken full advantage of a loop hole with the Porsche 917, making the risky investment of building 25 examples of a 5.0 L car to allow homologation into the FIA's Group 5 Sports Car category. Selling half of his business to Fiat, Enzo Ferrari raised the funds to match that risky investment. Surplus cars were intended to be sold to racing customers, which means that several dozen high powered sports cars were available, and with each requiring two drivers in an endurance race, there was a shortage of experienced pilots. The motor of the 512S was a total new 60° V12 with 560 PS (412 kW) output. Compared to Porsche's air-cooled flat-12, it needed a maze of cooling pipes and a heavy radiator. Since the chassis was of sturded steel, reinforced with aluminium sheet, weight was 100 kg more than that of the alloy-framed 917. Notwithstanding the weight difference and higher center of gravity, the Ferrari 512S and Porsche 917 were theoretically fairly evenly matched. At the beginning of 1970 the Ferrari 512s were hampered by predictable teething problems, including a weak suspension and transmission bothers. But the fact that Porsche already had six months of equally mixed experiences with its 917 in 1969 would be decisive for the rest of the season. Contrary to Porsche, Ferrari did not organise an intramural competition. At Porsche, JWA Gulf, KG Porsche Salzburg and later Martini Racing, all received direct factory support. Thus, at least four cars were real works cars, without putting strain on the factory itself, as personnel and funds were provided by these professional teams. And even the privateers like AAW Shell Racing and David Piper Racing received much better support than Ferrari's clients. Ferrari did not adopt this modern scheme, but entered cars themselves in the traditional manner, as Spa Ferrari SEFAC. Having only a few Formula 1 drivers under contract in the previous years, with the sports car aces driving for Porsche, Ferrari could barely find qualified drivers for its entries. Besides the factory cars, there were the private cars of Scuderia Filipinetti, NART, Écurie Francorchamps, Scuderia Picchio Rosso, Gelo Racing Team and Escuderia Montjuich. Those private cars never received the same support from the factory. They were considered as field fillers, never as candidates for a win. At the end of the 1970 season, Ferrari had won the 12 hours of Sebring, while the Porsche 917 and 908 took the remaining nine wins of the championship season.

Third place went to John Surtees - who went into the race from pole position and drove the fastest lap - and Lorenzo Bandini on a 330P (chassis 0822). The Scuderia came closest to the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe by Bob Holbert and Dave MacDonald. The Americans had the goal but just three laps down to third place and finished fourth. Two further 330P failed. The Maranello Concessionaires-330P-(chassis 0818) by Graham Hill and Joakim Bonnier had a gearbox failure; Chassis 0810 of the North American Racing Team Pedro Rodriguez and John Fulp had to be prematurely stopped after an engine failure. At Le Mans, the 330P came to second (Maranello Concessionaires, driven by Hill / Bonnier) and three (trailer, driven by Surtees / Bandini). The overall winner was Jean Guichet and Nino Vaccarella factory-275P. The first victory with the Racing Car Type celebrated Graham Hill in August 1964 when the World Cup scoring RAC Tourist Trophy. This was followed by total victory at the Grand Prix of Canada (Pedro Rodríguez), the 1000 km race from Paris (Hill / Bonnier) and by Ludovico Scarfiotti at the Trofeo Bettoia. 330P were run until 1967 in sports car racing, replaced by P2 the factory team in 1965.
