Father and Son 2 Day Hike up Qld's highest Mountain, Mount Bartle Frere. Starting in Malanda, in the Tablelands, we hiked up the the Western side making to the the western summit campsite to rest for the night. The next morning we rose to make the final ascend before hoping across the boulders and down the eastern side of the mountain. Making it all the way back to Josephine Falls, we found some beautiful pristine rainforest and secret swimming holes along the way! A touch of what life is like living outdoors in the tropics of North Qld.

Climbing Mt Bartle Frere Broken Nose 2012
In 2012 my 8 year old daughter and I flew to Cairns in far north QLD and headed south to Mt Bartle Frere to climb to Broken Nose .We started in the rain with the mountain obscured from view .From the base, it took us 10 hours with a half hour view at Broken Nose @ 962m . At the end of the climb & after enduring the onslaught of leaches all day, as my daughter looked back on the mountain @ sunset, she said Dad I feel like a different person, I cant believe I just did that This is our climb, its very difficult & rugged ,not for the faint hearted but certainly worth the effort..... Next climb is the summit.. enjoy..
