Semeru Volcano by Drone
Climbed Semeru in September 2017 and observed moderate eruptions and some rock falls from the lava dome inside the crater, including by drone despite the strong winds at the top. Lots of changes since my last visit 10 years ago. Actual drone footage starts at 1:51.

Hello! This is my travel video documentary, It’s all about my journey to Mount Semeru. Mahameru, The highest peak of Java, and also one of seven summits of Indonesia.
I traveled alone from Bandung to Malang, but i wasn’t alone, i of course met up with my sister and her classmates in Malang. Before the day, i got ‘crazy’ british friends at my hostel. I didn’t even sleep all night along before my climb.
The trail is pretty easy from Ranupani to Ranu Kumbolo “THE HEAVEN” or many people say Ranukumbolove.....
We were lucky, the weather was sunny, so we could enjoy the stunning view....
BUT............ THE REAL STRUGGLE ISSSSS....... MAHAMERU
We had to wake up at midnight 11.37 i guess... and i took for granted to go to Mahameru....walking up to the top with shape cliff and cold temperature....we were struggling... we were fighting againt ourselves...againt fearness...againt anything.
When i reached the top of Semeru.... i was cryinggg.... LOL....
So, that’s it, my short story about my journey about my adventure to PUNCAK JAWA ( The Highest Peak Of Java )

Hiking To Mount Semeru The Highest Volcano In Java (By: Asyik2 Joss Team) PART 1
Mount Semeru is the highest volcano in Java. An active volcano with magnificant peak called Mahameru, 3.676 meters above sea level (12.060 feets). Mount Semeru is in Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park (TNBTS). The nearest cities to go are Malang and Lumajang.

Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is located in East Java, Indonesia, to the east of Malang and to the southeast of Surabaya, the capital of East Java. It is the only conservation area in Indonesia that has a sand sea, the Tengger Sand Sea (Indonesian: Laut Pasir Tengger), across which is the caldera of an ancient volcano (Tengger) from which four new volcanic cones have emerged. This unique feature covers a total area of 5,250 hectares at an altitude of about 2,100 metres (6,900 ft). The massif also contains the highest mountain in Java, Mount Semeru (3,676 m), four lakes and 50 rivers.

Gunung Semeru termasuk dalam wilayah dua kabupaten, yakni Kabupaten Malang dan Kabupaten Lumajang, provinsi Jawa Timur. Gunung ini termasuk dalam kawasan Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru.
Gunung Semeru merupakan gunung tertinggi di Pulau Jawa, dengan puncaknya Mahameru, 3.676 meter dari permukaan laut (mdpl)
Disuguhi pemandangan spektakuler dari terbitnya matahari, hingga melihat samudera awan yang luar biasa indahnya. Dari puncak ini akan terlihat kawah yang disebut Jonggring Saloko dan yang uniknya setiap 10-15 menit sekali menyemburkan batuan vulkanis dengan didahului asap yang membumbung tinggi.
Disuguhi panorama alam yang sangat menakjubkan sebelum sampai puncak, seperti Ranu Pani, Ranu Kumbolo, Tanjakan Cinta, Kalimati, pemandangan berupa padang savana yang sangat luas, Arcapada, dan tentu saja perjalanan menuju puncak Mahameru untuk mengibarkan bendera Merah Putih, merupakan pengalaman yang akan selalu di kenang.
19/07/2019 - Gunung Bromo meletus dan lahar dingin
Semburan abu vulkanik dari Gunung Bromo yang mengalami erupsi disertai lahar dingin pada Jumat sore kurang lebih pada pukul 16.37 WIB, mengarah ke wilayah Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur, dan menyebabkan hujan abu tipis.
Humas Taruna Siaga bencana (Tagana) Kabupaten Malang Ali Usman mengatakan bahwa pihaknya mencatat setidaknya ada dua wilayah di Kabupaten Malang terkena semburan abu vulkanik Gunung Bromo yang memiliki ketinggian 2.329 meter di atas permukaan laut (mdpl) tersebut.
Berdasarkan laporan awal ada hujan abu di Desa Gubuklakah, dan Dusun Drigu Poncokusumo, kata Ali, kepada ANTARA, Jumat malam.
Ali menambahkan, meskipun di dua wilayah di Kabupaten Malang tersebut terkena hujan abu vulkanis dari Gunung Bromo, volume abu masih bisa dikatakan tipis.
Desa Gubuklakah terletak di wilayah Kecamatan Poncokusumo, Kabupaten Malang, yang kurang lebih berjarak kurang lebih 14,4 kilometer. Sementara Dusun Drigu Desa Poncokusumo Kabupaten Malang, memiliki jarak kurang lebih 20 kilometer.
Erupsi Gunung Bromo yang terjadi kurang lebih pukul 16.37 WIB tersebut, terjadi selama tujuh menit 14 detik. Erupsi tersebut terekam pada seismograf dengan amplitudo maksimum 37 milimeter.
Namun, tinggi kolom abu vulkanik Gunung Bromo hingga saat ini tidak bisa terdeteksi akibat cuaca di lokasi tertutup kabut pada saat terjadi erupsi. Saat ini status Gunung Bromo berada pada Level II (Waspada), dan masyarakat sekitar serta wisatawan tidak diperbolehkan mendekat dengan radius satu kilometer dari kawah.
Cuaca di sekitar Gunung Bromo dilaporkan berawan, mendung, dan hujan dengan curah hujan 0,4 milimeter. Angin bertiup lemah ke arah Selatan, Barat Daya, dan Barat laut
Berdasar catatan, pada Maret 2019, Gunung Bromo juga sempat menyemburkan abu vulkanik tipis, dan menyebabkan hujan abu di wilayah Desa Ngadisari, Kecamatan Sukapura, Kabupaten Probolinggo.
Gunung Bromo merupakan gunung berapi aktif dengan ketinggian 2.329 meter di atas permukaan laut, yang terletak di Jawa Timur, dan mempunyai kawah dengan garis tengah 800 meter dari arah utara ke selatan, serta 600 meter dari timur ke barat.
Gunung tersebut berada di empat wilayah, yakni Kabupaten Probolinggo, Kabupaten Pasuruan, Kabupaten Lumajang, dan Kabupaten Malang.

Ranu Kumbolo: An exotic lake on Gunung Semeru Lumajang, East Java, Indonesia
Ranu Kumbolo is located on slope of the highest peak of java, Gunung Semeru or Mahameru. The crated of Semeru is an active crater that always expels volcanic material, its name is Kawah Konggring Saloko.
Ranu Kumbolo is a lake with a breathtaking and exotic scenery. The lake edge is used as resting place and make camp for Gunung Semeru climners. Ranu Kumbolo is accessible from Malang or Lumajang, East Java, Indonesia.
If you go by public transportation, from Malang take transport to Tumpang and stop at Tumpang station. Trip then proceed with truck of vegetables or Jeep that is rented by local people to Ranu Pane. Before arriving at Ranu Pane, visitors should stop for climbing permission at Gubugklakah. If visitors come via Lumajang, they should get to Ranu Pane village, at Senduro district using private car or by motorbike taxi. And visitors should get permission from BTS National park as Ranu pane village.
The trip to Ranu Kumbolo takes a very good stamina, and sufficient logistic, and should prepare everything carefully. The trek to Ranu Kumbolo will pass very nice scenery, but trekkers should be alert. From Ranu pane there is 5 km of slope with Edelweiss grows everywhere, and trekkers will pass Watu Rejeng, where there is a very beautiful steep rock. The valley and hills overgrown with pines look amazing from the track, sometimes smoke from Semeru peak can be seen. The trek from Ranu Pane to Ranu Kumbolo usually takes 5 to 6 hours.
Climbers can also enjoy the beautiful lake and its fresh water where there are fishes and wild grouse. Sunrise from behind the hill is unforgettable for Ranu Kumbolo visitors. Ranu Kumbolo is 2400 m asl and coners 14 hectares.
BTS National park closed the climbing to Semeru in rainy season for erosion and storm reason. Almost every year, the Semeru climbing activity is closed for 4 months from December to April. This due to ecosystem recovery of the mountain. Before the climbing activity opens, BTS National park will have to survey the route if climbing is already safe for climbers.
Ranu Kumbolo can be a challenge for nature lovers or trekkers, but they should wait until the National Park opens the climbing activity. Warm clothing and food are a must to visit Ranu Kumbolo as the temperature is freezing.
Beside the natural beauty, visitors can fish at Ranu Kumbolo.

MOUNT BROMO - Worth Going To East Java For? | Flying Drone Over Active Volcano! | 4K
On this episode, we take you along on our first week in East Java, Indonesia.
We started our trip in Mount Bromo which has been on the bucket list for a long time!
On Day 1, we woke up at 3am to watch the sunrise from King Kong Hill, a famous lookout overlooking Mount Bromo, Mount Batok and Mount Semeru. Incredible views!
We then hiked the rim of Mount Bromo via the Sea of Sand, which was a very unique experience.
On Day 2, we hiked to the summit of Mount Batok at 2am for another epic sunrise perspective. Not many tourists go there but the tough 45 min climb in the dark and ash was definitely worth it.

Gunung Semeru atau Gunung Meru adalah sebuah gunung berapi kerucut di Jawa Timur, Indonesia. Kan gak boleh nerbangin drone di semeru ?? Yak betul memang mnerbangkan drone di semeru itu gak boleh (kecuali ada izin) khususnya di wilayah ranukumbolo dan kalimati dikarenakan suara bising dari drone tersebut bisa mengganggu ekosistem seperti burung atau binatang yang akan kawin. (Tdk cuma drone, suara gaduh yang di timbulkan oleh para pendaki dan speaker nya pun bisa menganggu) Dan alasan saya menerbangkan drone inj dari puncak Mahameru, krn di puncak tersebut tidak ada aktifitas kehidupan baik tumbuhan maupun hewan yg akan berkembang biak, dan sangat jauh dari batas vegetasi. saya pun sebelumnya sudah meminta izin utk bisa menerbangkan drone dari puncak Mahameru pada loket pendaftaran.
