MANJUSHREE TRAIL - Monsoon Hike around Kathmandu Valley, Namobuddha-Balthali-Godawari Section
This monsoon, we decided to hike the Manjushree Trail Namobuddha-Balthali-Section and it was amazing. Our trip began from Kathmandu, followed by a road trip upto Namobuddha Monastery. Our hike began after lunch in Namobuddha, ending at Balthali where we stayed for the night in a homestay. The interaction with locals who were busy in paddy fields was the trip highlights. The homestay itself was such a fun experience.
Second day was equally filled with excitements as we almost got lost at the end before reaching our final stop Godawari. Special thanks to Shyam Dai for the ride, and all the locals we met on the way. We have gained yet another memory to cherish.
For Balthali Homestay, you can checkout for more details.

Dream Trip: Nepal | Salomon TV
Trail runners from around the world were asked: What is your #RunningDreamTrip? Tyler Courville's Dream Trip was to travel to Nepal with Mira Rai, and was subsequently selected from thousands of entries. Mira's story seems impossible; A Nepali village girl, turned child soldier, and now a globally recognised professional trail runner. Just a few months ago, she was voted National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. Mira shows Tyler her country as they travel to her village in the remote mountains of Eastern Nepal getting to know the culture, mountains and people along the way.

Langtang Valley Trek in Nepal - Heaven on Earth | A Complete Trekking Details
Trek in Nepal to Langtang Valley has been successfully accomplished by a group of six ladies from Malaysia and the trek was organized by Mountain Ram Adventures. The group had one guide and six porters. I was very happy to have joined with this group even though i was not on the Kyanjin Ri with them. But i enjoyed the silence of the mountain while climbing up to Kyanjin Ri 4773m. Oh by the way, Langshisakharka Valley was an unforgettable. What a beautiful weather we had while walking on that valley, had an amazing experience.
Langtang valley trekking in Nepal, is the perfect option if you are looking for a short, relatively easy, teahouse trek. It is a great introduction to Himalayan trekking, with the added bonus of breathtaking mountain views right from day one. Situated just a day's drive North of Kathmandu, this excellent trek follows the narrow Langtang valley heading up towards the Langtang glacier and the Tibetan border. About one fourth of the park is covered in forests of oak, maple, rhododendron, chir pine, hemlock and spruce and is home to a wide variety of animal and bird life. It is possible to see the endangered Himalayan red panda, pika, muntjack, musk deer, Himalayan black beer, Himalayan tahr, ghoral, serow, rhesus monkey and the common langur. Many different bird species can also be spotted as this region is a major route for migratory birds.

BeAlive - RJ Ripper - Full Film - Nepal MTB Champion
Rajesh Magar (RJ) learned to ride a bike at 10 years old, getting lost in the streets of outer Kathmandu. He rode his first technical trails on a bike he made himself with scraps, including; a scooter spring for suspension and piece of plumbing. His riding earned him attention on the mountain and eventually brought him the opportunity to compete and provide for his family. He has gone on to become consecutive four time national champion in Nepal.
RJ’s story is one of boundless dreaming and unstoppable determination, forged from junkyard scraps and tested on the rugged trails of the mighty Himalaya.
Since its premiere, RJ Ripper has been featured at film festivals across North America, including 5Point, Fresh Coast and most recently Banff International Film Festivals.

Nepal Mountain Bike - Colors of Kathmandu
The city is a ceaseless frenzy of chattering vendors, garish signs, pagoda like temples, and the overpowering smell of incense.
The surrounding hills, however, tell a different story.

BUDGET:
TIMS Permit - 2000 rupees ($20 USD)
ANCAP Entry Fee - 1000 rupees ($10 USD)

This will be more expensive as you ascend in altitude. It will also depend on seasonal price fluctuations and whether or not you share the room. For me as a solo trekker in a private room/tent - roughly 250-1000 rupees per night ($5-10 USD) Total accommodation costs for me: $34 USD
Food:
This will also be more expensive as you ascend in altitude. I spent the following:
Aus Camp - Lunch & Coffee $8
Forest Camp - D, B, - $20
Middle Camp - L, D, B - $25
High Camp - L, D, B L - $45
Siding - D, B - $20
Transport:
Bus to Kande: 150 rupees ($1.5 USD)
Shared Jeep Siding - Pokhara 3500 Rupees ($35)
My Total:
$213 USD

Hi guys my name is Chase Tucker and I'm a online personal trainer, trek leader and creator of Base Camp Training and this YouTube channel Chase Mountains.
I created this channel to share what I've learnt over a short lifetime of loving the wilderness and what it has to offer. I'm passionate about preparing people, fitness wise, to have a great time in the mountains and to show them that it's worth preserving for the future.
In this video I review one of my favourite treks in Nepal, the Mardi Himal Trek. It is one of the greatest short treks in Nepal. I would say that the climb to the Upper View Point is one of the best hikes in the world! I had a great time on the trek in October 2018 and I'm super happy to do this trek review!

Nepal 2019 - The Colours of Kathmandu & Trekking the Helambu Trail
A collection of my photos of our trip to Nepal January 23-February 5, 2019) including visiting in and around Kathmandu and trekking on the Helambu Trail.
The travel team included Phil Marns, Nick Cross, Steve Norris, Rob Turner, all from England, and myself, Lawrence Bonavia, from Canada.
After a couple of nights stay in Kathmandu, we hired transport and set out on the Helambu trail out of Sunderijal (1,460m), Along the trail we made overnight stops in Chisipani (2,165m), Chipling, Kutumsang (2,470m), Mangengoth, (3,420m), Thadepadi (3,690m), Melamchigoan (2 nights) (2,550m) and finished up with our final night of the trek in Timbu. From there we took a 9 hour local bus ride along the river back to Kathmandu .
The success of the trek would not have been possible without our outstanding personal guide Bishal Kulung and porters, Mahendra and Nischal Kulung. Also special thanks to Phil for being the catalyst for this grand adventure, getting us organized and sharing his knowledge and experience of Nepal.
Enjoy the photos and taste of our experience in Nepal... :-)
MANJUSHREE TRAIL- HIking around Kathmandu Valley ( Kakani-Dhulikhel Section)
#Explore #SanMiguel
Named after the Great Bodhisatva Manjushree, the Manjushree trail is a circuit hike aound Kathmandu valley, going through the same trail that Manjushree took while circling the valley before cutting the gorge in Chobhar. We did the Balthali-Godawari section last monsoon. This time, we hiked the Kakani-Nagarkot section, a fairly comfortable trail of around 6 days in and out of the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park.
We encountered more wildlife than we expected, had our food stolen by monkeys, stayed with the Babas, ate a lot of Aiselus (wild berries) and yeah, drank the water of Bagmati. The best part about this well marked and mapped trail is the options you get. You can hike for a day or two or go for the full circuit hike of two weeks, skip or jump directly to any section you please. This trail is a hiker's paradise.
Thanks to our exploring partner.
