Cave Towers, Mule Canyon, Cedar Mesa, Utah. Bears Ears National Monument
A Quick trip to Cave Towers in Mule Canyon on Cedar Mesa in Utah.
The hike is fairly short and the drive even shorter. It is not far from the highway.
Finding the place to begin the descent is a little tricky. It begins out on the left side of the canyon as you are facing the canyon. It is steep for sure but well marked.

Ancient Ruins in the US: House on Fire in Utah
In the Cedar Mesa area of SE Utah, you can find a lot of Anasazi (Ancient Pueblo) Ruins to visit. This particular one is one of the easier one to access as there is not much driving needed on unimproved/dirt roads. On this trail, if you walk a mile in, you will see the famous House of Fire ruin. Most people turn around here. We knew there was more of a trail we downloaded in our gps ahead of time, so we kept going. There were two other ruins we saw along the trail- one half way to the end and one at the end. There may have been more, but we were not keen enough to spot them. Let us know if there are other sites to see in the comments below.
County Road 263 is also known as Texas Flat Road, it connects to Arch Canyon. You will head north on this road. (County road 236 is almost across the road on 95. Do not take this as it goes south.)

This video is about a couple friends that have passed away. The morning was spent on a couple short walks thinking of them.
Special thanks to Duke’s family for thinking of us and inviting us to attend this special occasion.

Arch Canyon & Cedar Mesa
OTBPMaps created this video when some family members came to southeastern Utah for a ATV riding vacation. This video will show you old hwy 95 dugway and what the trail is like in Arch Canyon. It also shows you some of the spectacular ruins and scenic views. Then it will take you to Cedar Mesa Utah where you will see more spectacular views and several Archaeological sites. There will also be some important comments made pointing out some of the problems that are being faced in the back country when it comes to closures and the management of this land.

S3 E1 Mule Canyon, Bears Ears National Monument, Utah April 2016
Admire Anasazi native ruins, starry nights and red rock canyon scenery on this 9.5 mile/15 km out-and-back with only about 420 ft/128 m of elevation change.
The recently designated Bears Ears National Monument includes the larger area surrounding Mule Canyon. This short overnight (or day hike) helps demonstrate why this part of Southeastern Utah is worthy of protection.
Mule Canyon remains open to hikers with reliable water spring though fall. Be sure to visit the Kane Gulch Ranger Station to obtain a backpacking permit or call (435) 587-1510 for more information.

Turret House Cedar Mesa Utah Bears Ears National Monument
This place has many different names, this one is mine for my reference.
The site is small but a very interesting and pretty structure. The area it is home to is one of the most beautiful canyons around in my opinion. The setting is stunning.
I have learned that the structures built in this canyon were the last ones. From here they left.
