A leisurely half day pedal from Everton to Myrtleford is best ridden from Everton Station to Myrtleford. The station is cute and the trail heads through grazing properties and before climbing Taylors Gap. The ride down into Myrtleford is beautiful, passing Boyntons Feathertop Winery and the Myrtleford Loop trail is a must. Enjoy the 10kms rolling down to Myrtleford with grape vines, beautiful views, and final very gentle ascent into Myrtleford.

Murray to Mountains Rail Trail
My husband and I spent Easter weekend cycling in the Victorian Alps. We covered around 130 kilometres including the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and nearby sights in Bright, Beechworth, and Wangaratta. The area was full of farms, vineyards, and historical buildings, all under a big, beautiful Australian sky.

A fabulous short pedal for the whole family from beautiful Bright to the quiet back lanes of Wandiligong. The Wandi Maze is worth a visit, the Royal Bridge Walk worth a wander and check out the Williams United Mine, returning past the Wandi Pub for cold drink and a meal, or pack a picnic and ride the Rail Trail to Alpine Park and let the children play on the playground.
Murray to mountains cycle touring on a plant-based vegan diet
In December 2014 I did my first ever cycle touring trip over 3 days on the Murray to Mountains rail trail in Victoria, Australia. On day 1, I took a train from Melbourne to Wangaratta and then cycled to Beechworth and camped in a caravan park. On day 2, I cycled from Beechworth down to Myrtleford then Bright, and then back again to Myrtleford where I camped in another caravan park. On day 3, I cycled to Oxley and back to Wangaratta, where I concluded my trip.
