For some reason (sorry, didn't look into the physics) you feel like the world is spinning -making it hard to keep your balance- when you walk inside the vortex, the effect is caused by a spinning cylinder that's walling the path..

Museum of illusions
A few years ago, they opened the Museum of illusions of Slovenia and some time ago I visited it with my friends.
You can find the museum in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, on a well-known square, Kongresni trg. »Enter the fascinating world of illusion which will trick your confidence in senses, but amaze you by doing it; the world that will confuse you completely, but also educate you… Visit us and you will be thrilled because nothing is what it seems, especially not in the Museum of Illusions!« they write on their web page and indeed, there are a few interesting things in the Museum of illusions, but it’s also true that you will see a few things there you have probably seen before. This is my review.

Day 88 - Ljubljana city centre
This was our first full day in Ljubljana and we had high hopes. Slovenia looked like a beautiful country (it was) and we knew Ljubljana wasn’t going to be a letdown. Slovenia has a population of 2 million people, 300,000 of those live in Ljubljana. This isn’t that much for a capital city though. We walked from our AirBnB to our first stop, Tivoli park. It was only 5 minutes from our AirBnB so we went for a walk. We stumbled upon a beautiful flower garden, lake and forest. The fact this was in the middle of a capital city was strange! It felt like a national park. There were lots of children playing on the grassy plains, adults strolling and observing the beautiful flower patches, people doing yoga, tourists taking pictures, people relaxing and reading books. It was a spectacular place and we felt comfortable as soon as we were there. We then decided to leave Tivoli after exploring the area for longer than we planned (still hadn’t scraped the surface) and head to the Illusion museum! We had visited one of these in Zagreb less than a week before. The price difference was insane considering it’s basically the same place, just in a different country. After skimming over the museum as we had already seen it, we walked to the stunning centre of Ljubljana. The Ljubljanica river makes the City so picturesque and friendly looking. There was quite a lot of tourists in this area but not as many as we are used to. We walked around and observed all the cool bars and historical buildings. We continued our walk to Ljubljana Castle, the most famous landmark in the city. The walk up was nice and scenic and 360 panoramic views from the top of the castle were breathtaking. The fee to enter wasn’t too much either. We walked around the whole castle and explored the cool dragon basement and museum. The Slovenes believe a dragon patrolled the area and still does to this day. Claire hid in a dragon egg too. After watching a live reenactment of a king taking a woman prisoner (we didn’t really know the context) and watching a cool history projection of the castle and Slovenia, we headed down to the city again. We walked to a really quirky and hipster area called Metalkova. There were weird sculptures and paintings covering (and I mean COVERING) every single building in sight. It was a very strange place and it made me feel a bit uneasy, not sure why. We were going to stay and explore the art museum, but we couldn’t find it. We then headed home exhausted from our first day in Ljubljana. It lived up to its name!

Day 89 - Ljubljana Zoo
Today was a rainy day so we decided to visit Ljubljana zoo! We seem to visit a zoo in every country, it’s like a tradition. We walked to the zoo from our AirBnB which meant walking through Tivoli park again, yeyy! We eventually reached a street with some very big houses that would lead us to the zoo. I quickly realised we were walking past loads of embassies! The coolest ones were the UK, US and France! I think embassies are really cool because being in their grounds is technically being in another country. I said the same thing with every one we saw, “You know if I step foot in that garden I’ll be in (enter country name)”, much to Claires intolerance. Anyway, we eventually reached the zoo! This zoo was awesome and had loads of different animals! It wasn’t the biggest zoo, but we still had a great time. We played on these huge bouncy balls and had a competition to see who could bounce the furthest without falling off (I won). We also got to stroke a lamb! It was so cute.
