Luxury Travel in Aruba
Just 20 miles long and with a dry climate all year round, Aruba is a Caribbean destination with a difference.
Tirso Tromp, Aruba's Director of Tourism for Europe, talks to Elite about what the Dutch-speaking island has to offer, from the largest shipwreck in the Caribbean to paddleboard yoga and kayaking in the Mangroves.
Basically, the strategy for is to become a hub for Europe to Latin America, explains Tromp.
We've a highly educated population on the island. We speak four languages. Arubans speak Dutch, English, Spanish and a local language and we know Dutch culture, European culture, we know American culture.

Interview with Mr. Byron Boekhoudt
Interesting and informative interview with Mr. Byron Boekhoudt; Marine Biologist at Aruba's Department of Agriculture, Husbandry and Fisheries.
Born and raised in Aruba, Byron Boekhoudt's love for the sea was nurtured by his dad. My dad took me snorkeling when I was very young, every chance we got.
I left the island to study and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Dallas and Masters of Science in Marine Environmental Science at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. My thesis studied the effects of storm activities on currents and the larval distribution patterns of coral reef fish.
I came back to Aruba to work on a research project of the United Nations Development Plan with the Department of Agriculture, Husbandry and Fisheries, to determine the potential of developing fisheries and formulating the policy for the fisheries industry of Aruba. Now, 20 years later, I am still with the Department of Fisheries, locally called Santa Rosa, but based from the unusual office located at Nos Clubhuis on the 2nd floor of the Hadicurari Fisheries Center at Palm Beach. Officially, I am still the officer in charge of fisheries, but have, over the course of my career, assumed a wide array of positions within the government of Aruba.
Byron provides fascinating insights into Aruba's beaches and reefs.

SUMMARY
=======
The American Theater describes a series of mostly minor areas of operations during World War II. This was mainly due to both North and South America's geographical separation from the central theaters of conflict in Europe and the Pacific. Thus, any full-scale threat by the Axis Powers to invade the continental United States or other areas was considered negligible, allowing for American resources to be deployed in overseas theaters.
This article includes attacks on continental territory, extending 200 miles (320 km) into the ocean, which is today under the sovereignty of Canada, the United States, Mexico, and several other smaller states. The best known events in North America during World War II were the Aleutian Islands Campaign, the Battle of the St. Lawrence, and the attacks on Newfoundland.

SUMMARY
=======
Geology (from the Ancient Greek γῆ, gē(earth) and -λoγία, -logia, (study of, discourse)) is an earth science concerned with the solid Earth, the rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which they change over time. Geology can also refer to the study of the solid features of any terrestrial planet or natural satellite such as Mars or the Moon. Modern geology significantly overlaps all other earth sciences, including hydrology and the atmospheric sciences, and so is treated as one major aspect of integrated earth system science and planetary science.
Geology describes the structure of the Earth beneath its surface, and the processes that have shaped that structure. It also provides tools to determine the relative and absolute ages of rocks found in a given location, and also to describe the histories of those rocks. By combining these tools, geologists are able to chronicle the geological history of the Earth as a whole, and also to demonstrate the age of the Earth. Geology provides the primary evidence for plate tectonics, the evolutionary history of life, and the Earth's past climates.
Geologists use a wide variety of methods to understand the Earth's structure and evolution, including field work, rock description, geophysical techniques, chemical analysis, physical experiments, and numerical modelling. In practical terms, geology is important for mineral and hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation, evaluating water resources, understanding of natural hazards, the remediation of environmental problems, and providing insights into past climate change. Geology, a major academic discipline, also plays a role in geotechnical engineering.
