Handmade paper shop in Ohrid (Republic of Macedonia)
That's how handmade paper is still produced nowadays in Ohrid (Republic of Macedonia).
The entire process is illustrated by the owner of the shop called St.Clement of Ohrid, during summer 2013.
St.Clement of Ohrid is one of the last seven places in the world in which paper is still produced in the original Chineese way, from the second century B.C.
The Wonders of OHRID! The Best place in MACEDONIA!
The Balkan adventure continues as we set foot in Macedonia’s home of Lake Ohrid, the ancient town of Ohrid!
After exploring Sofia, Bulgaria and crossing borders from Bulgaria to Macedonia’s capital city, Skopje, we journeyed all the way to Ohrid, meeting along the way a seasoned traveller, Athirah. Together as a team, we discovered and explored Ohrid and it’s best kept secrets!
The Republic of Macedonia is a landlocked country in Eastern Europe, which is bordered by Greece, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Albania and Serbia. Even though there’s no ocean in sight, this country has a beautiful body of water that’s worthy of a visit.
Lake Ohrid is one of the deepest and oldest lakes in all of Europe. It’s 30 kilometers long and 15 kilometers wide, and is partially owned by Albania. However, the majority of the water sits within Macedonia’s borders.
Come and join us as we bring you to Ohrid and see for yourself why I consider this one of my most worthy travel experience!

Pece Naumovski wins gold for Macedonia at Fiji Karate international
On the 7th to the 10th of December 2011, the Fiji karate international tournament was held in the capital of Suva, Fiji. Pece Naumovski for the first time in his karate career was selected to represent the Republic of Macedonia at this international event. Since 2009 when he was granted Macedonian citizenship by the President of the Republic of Macedonia George Ivanov were he was also awarded a gold coin of Philip II of Macedonia, Macedonia has become more aware of the success of this young talented athlete.
After watching Pece perform and grow in international and national titles the Macedonian Karate Federation through the Macedonian karate club GIV-Skopje were Pece is a member, decided that the time is right for Pece officially represent Macedonia.
Pece Naumovski seemed to be full of energy this is what he had to say,I feel more powerful and more precise in the way I utilize my techniques in my fights and I think it has something to do with the fact that I am representing my country Macedonia for the first time, Pece said.
The tournament has given Macedonia the title of Fiji international champion with the gold medalist Pece Naumovski. Pece as an athlete has always represented two countries, Australia and Macedonia officially and unofficially respectively. But Pece has always been determined to wave the Macedonian flag. Pece has done what no Macedonian athlete has done before, to represent Macedonia in an international tournament under the constitutional name and with the sixteen ray Macedonian sun flag.
We hope that Pece will continue to represent Macedonia in karate whenever he can, his success is Macedonia and every Macedonians success.

Exploring Macedonia was one of the most surprising and rewarding trips we have ever made. It had to be our first video on YouTube. We arrived in Ohrid and rented a cute little Peugeot to drive around this beautiful country full of lush and untouched nature. The view to the lake was ever-present, with tall mountains surrounding it on all sides, inviting us to explore and go up. And so we did. First ourselves, by car, and then also with our Sharky Sparky, a DJI Spark drone, to capture the beauty from above. Exploring never looked so easy for us. We could see so much more from above, from different perspectives and in unique ways. But we were in Macedonia to travel the country, for a road trip, to see as much as possible. So we headed north, to the Mavrovo National Park, passing by the St. Jovan Bigorski Monastery and the Nur Mosque in Trebishte, both facing each other in a centuries-old yet immovable stand-off. The windy road along a fresh stream made for scenic views, we probably did not capture how incredibly beautiful it really was. Passing by lakes and valleys, resting where we could overlook the entire beauty of this scenic country, we continued our way along to the surroundings of the capital, to the Matka Canyon, the Kozjak Lake and the Millennium Cross. They form perfect vantage points to marvel at the walls of the canyon or the endless horizon. Bright colors, green forests and even snow-covered mountain tips in the far distance. Sadly, the road was coming to an end. And lastly, we arrived to Skopje itself. The city has a quite different vibe from what we saw before. New yet traditional, Skopje is an interesting mix of cultures. We were reminded of the mosque and monastery earlier on. But in Skopje, you just need to cross a bridge to dive into a new culture.

August 2016 my life was blessed with the introduction to Jovan Stalevski :) He became our trainer in our Business Training of Trainers in Los Banos.
Little did I know, this will lead to an amazing opportunity to get further training in Macedonia, Europe. There I experienced so many things that will change the way I perceive the world around me, the way I know myself, and the way I appreciate the life given to me. I met so many wonderful people and I hope that we will all be forever connected by the memories and new knowledge that we discovered together.

The majority of journalists around the world have chosen to develop their subject on controversial and sensational themes: violence, war, crime. But all these facts represent only 1% of our world and its inhabitants, forgetting the remaining 99% of which we never speak.
I chose to visit every country on the planet and film them to present them in High Definition format but in a raw way, without music, without comment. Simply, reality in all its truth. Thus, you will be able to make your own idea of the world in which you live.
Currently, I have already visited nearly 170 countries and my world tour continues thanks to you who follow me.

Continuing on with my Balkan voyage brings me to my last and final former republic of the former Yugoslavia. From Prishtina, Kosovo, I arrived in the capital city of Skopje. Skopje is an interesting city due to the two sides that are complete opposites. In the east of the river, you have the old town Bazaar which resembles a little Istanbul, with many small cafes and mosques. Crossing the old stone bridge to the other side of the river, is the new side. Skopje 2014 was a massive makeover for this city, and now many monuments, statues, and new/renovated buildings stand in the old square and around the city. While the makeover is not accepted by many Macedonians, it certainly has brought a new personality to the center, and it's quite interesting.
Skopje, next to Athens and Podgorica was one of the hottest cities I've been to on my European voyage. Fortunatly, the nearby Matka Canyon was the means to cool off in the shade as well as in the COLD COLD COLD river. In this canyon, you can rent kayaks as well as take boat tours down the canyon. For me, I was good enough with a nice walk along the path down the canyon. In the end, it was definitely the place to cool off.
On my travel day, I was initially going to catch a bus to avoid the heat. And I was persuaded not to. But last minute, I hit the edge of the city, and found a ride to Tetovo and another to my desired stop, Mavrovo National Park. This is a massive park in the west of the country bordering Albania with many beautiful lakes, mountains, valleys, and villages. I was lucky enough to catch a ride with a Dutch couple going to Ohrid and also lucky enough to join them on a journey finding a waterfall. In the process, we picked up a villager who was kind enough to all the way to the waterfall, Duf Falls. After we were greeted and wished a great journey away, we stopped for a beer and enjoyed more view of the mountains before parting ways in Ohrid and being welcomed into my Airbnb.
In Ohrid, I was extremely lucky to have one of the most budget friendly but valued Airbnb's to date. I had a full kitchen and dining room on one floor with a bed room and terrace on the second floor with a pretty nice view of the lake for only 20 Euros. What a steal. As for my time in this region, due to the heat and the long day before, I simply enjoyed roaming around town and skipped the boat excursion across the lake. I enjoyed my last meal of Cevapi, walked the waterfront, walked through the town, up Samuel's Fortress for panoramic views of Mavrovo, the town, the Lake, the Albanian border and beyond. And to end the day just right, I enjoyed the picturesque view of St Johns church over the lake and enjoyed a nice sunset swim in the lake to cool off after a week of extreme hot weather.
To wrap up my time in the former Yugoslavia, I finally caught a short ride in a Yugo and hitchhiked my way to the Albanian border to Tirana.
I not only had the pleasure of spending a memorable time in Macedonia but a pleasure of befriending many incredible people. :)
Cheers/ Na zdravje
