For more information, access, and reviews about Seisui-ji Temple:
A truly secluded temple. The vermilion Guze-den Hall patterned after Kyoto’s Kiyomizu-dera Temple has a venerable appearance as it stands tall amid the trees. The sound of the river off in the distance further deepens the tranquility of the temple.

A short walk from Ikegami Station (Tōkyū Ikegami Line) or Nishi-Magome Station (Toei Asakusa Line), Ikegami Honmon-ji contains a number of buildings, most of which have been reconstructed since the bombing of 15 March 1945. They include the Important Cultural Property designated five-storey pagoda built in 1608, the kyōzō (経蔵, repository of religious writings) built in 1784, and the hōtō (宝塔), built in 1781 where Nichiren was cremated. Other buildings have been rebuilt, or newly constructed, since 1945.

On Nichiren's footsteps: Old Nagoe Road Kamakura
Few temple in Kamakura are still disputing on where the real actual location of Nichiren's residence might have been. For sure he was living within the property of the lay nun of Nagoe around the ancient Nagoe road. This is actually just a path in the bushes on top of the hills of Kamakura. See what might have been the old road used by Nichiren, his disciples and followers.

Remain of Priest Nichiren's Street Preaching, Kamakura - Japan
Nichiren, the founder of the Nichiren Shu of Buddhism, came to Kamakura to spread his teaching based on his own interpretation of the Hokekyo (Lotus) sutra. This site commemorates his street preaching activities. He would stand at crowded street corners and ardently preach his own doctrine. Even from those days, this street was called Komachi-oji and was a busy area lined with shops and stalls.
