THIS Ancient Greek Pyramid PREDATES Ancient Egypt! - The MYSTERY Of Hellenikon
Josh Sigurdson reports on the ground from the Pyramid Of Hellenikon near Argos Greece and Nafplio which has been dated in recent years to be older than any of the pyramids of Egypt! This site predates classical Greece by thousands of years according to thermoluminescent dating technology and has extremely close ties to ancient Egypt.
If one is to believe the conventional age of the Great Pyramids and the most widespread textbooks on archaeology, this pyramid would be the OLDEST in the world!
Still, the claimed age of the pyramid is not without controversy. Originally dated to have been built around 400 BC in the 1930s, many academics are staunchly against the most recent technological dating by Ioannis Liritzis.
Mary Lefkowitz and A. Sampson adamantly deny the findings claiming that the structure is far too advanced to have been built earlier than 400BC which in other words means that it doesn't fit their unwavering view of the age of ancient civilizations and therefor it must not be older than the 1930s and 1980s dating of the structure.
It has been claimed that the structure acted simply as a guard tower or a place to send smoke signals but there is no evidence of this and it would not make sense to build a cyclopean pyramid just to do a task that a wooden or even simplistic stone structure could do all the same.
Ancient Greek traveler Pausanias claimed it may have been a burial site.
What it was used for is unknown, but it's interesting to point out how close it is to Argos (the oldest constantly inhabited city known to man) and Nafplio (the port of Argos) which is said to have been founded by Egyptians in an early epoch.
This site makes one seriously question the true age of ancient human civilizations and moreso makes us question the early abilities of a lost advanced ancient civilization handed knowledge from an earlier epoch which humans have completely forgotten about.
All ancient civilizations in the world appeared to have almost the same stories of an ancient cataclysm. Almost the same stories of great legendary beings that brought them technology, language and saved them from the great flood. All of this appears to date back in legend to around the time of the Younger Dryas Period. Atlantis, Noah, Gilgamesh, Quetzacoatl, Viracocha, etc. Around the time of Gobekli Tepe. Around a time of great environmental strife which we've only discovered in recent years.
There are a lot more mysteries on the horizon. One could only imagine what is still to be learned.

Athens Riviera, Alimos - Greece | Full moon - The mysteries of Nature
The full moon is rising behind the mountain Ymittos in Athens South zone. Athens Riviera is the coastal area in the southern suburbs of Athens, Greece from Piraeus to Sounio. It is located about 16 km (9.9 mi) from downtown Athens stretching from the southern suburbs of Athens to the southernmost point of Attica, Cape Sounio. According to the Greek National Tourism Organisation the main areas of the Athens Riviera are: the Floisvos Marina, Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni, Lagonisi, Varkiza, Anavyssos and Sounio.
The beautiful beaches of Attica and the Saronic Gulf
Just a stone’s throw from the city centre is the cosmopolitan Athens Riviera: The southern coastline from Paleo Faliro to Sounion offers exceptional, fully-organised beaches with all sorts of water sports, lively beach bars and restaurants, open-air clubs right on the water, large luxury resorts, dozens of dining options including seaside tavernas serving fresh seafood and eclectic shops. Life here moves to the rhythms of summer all year long.
There are natural mysteries all over the world. In the past, our ancestors attributed them to the workings of gods and goddesses. Today, science has provided an explanation for most of them, yet questions remain about many natural phenomenon that we just don’t know the answers to.
At Sounion, you will stand awe-struck before the imposing Temple of Poseidon and the magnificent sunset. The easy-to-reach island gems of the Saronic Gulf, with their sandy beaches and crystal-clear water, are perfect for a day trip or weekend getaway. From the port of Piraeus, you’ll take a hydrofoil to Aegina, Poros, Hydra with its preserved traditional settlement or visit the stately island of Spetses. Kythira, on the other hand, will claim a few more days of your itinerary, as it requires you to travel towards the south of the Peloponnese. But this unique island is worth discovering. It has castles, sacred caves, picturesque coves, villages and beaches for all.
Culture springs from everywhere
Athens is an open-air museum. Must-sees are the Acropolis, Parthenon, and the New Acropolis Museum, one of the best archaeological museums in the world. From the neighbourhood of Thiseion to Pnyka, the pedestrian walkway of Dionysiou Areopagitou, Plaka, Anafiotika and Monastiraki, you’ll admire archaeological sites, ancient and Byzantine monuments, churches and neoclassical buildings steeped in history.
Museums such as the National Archaeological Museum on Patission Avenue, the Museums of Greek Folk Art and Musical Instruments, the War Museum, the new Benaki Museum on Pireos street and the original Benaki Museum in Kolonaki, the Numismatic Museum and the Museum of Cycladic Art will enrich your knowledge of Athens and its history through their collections and exhibits. As will the National Gallery, the Planetarium, the Foundation of the Hellenic World and the dozens of art galleries in the city centre. Down the coast, you’ll stand in front of the imposing Temple of Poseidon in Sounion, overlooking the archipelago and the island of Aegina, and you’ll succumb to the overwhelming energy that the monument emits.
You don't need to get on a ferry to escape the bustle of the Greek capital: take a short bus ride and you'll find superb local beaches along the sheltered Saronic Gulf stretching from the southern suburbs of Athens to the southernmost point of Attica, Cape Sounio. Just 10 miles south of the city –typically a 30-40 minute drive– you will find a place where urban sprawl gives way to an idyllic palm fringed setting.
Take the opportunity to swim, relax at a waterfront café, walk along the picture-perfect pedestrian streets and the marinas, exercise your favourite water sport, shop in one of the area’s modern shopping centres, dine by the sea or entertain yourself in one of the coastal avenue’s buzzing clubs –the young people’s favourite choice– that have actually brought a touch of Mykonos in town! Summer in the city doesn’t sound that bad after all, does it?!

Hidden Secrets Of Athens, Greece! - Evidence Of Lost Ancient Civilization In Plain Sight?
Josh Sigurdson reports on the ground on the ancient ruins of Filopappou Hill (Philopappos Hill) and the Hill Of The Pnyx in Athens, Greece, just a 10 minute walk away from the Parthenon and the Acropolis.
As we've reported on so many times on this channel, we have not been given the full story on the history of ancient civilizations and there is a constant flow of new information proving an advanced, ancient civilization lived long before us, passing down knowledge of their abilities like an ancient, historical game of telephone, slowly being forgotten as time went by.
From Gobekli Tepe to the Sphinx, there are thousands of examples of megalithic structures that existed in a far off epoch, long before Dynastic Egypt or Ancient Greece. Structures that the ancient Egyptians and ancient Greeks could not have built, or lifted. Technology that is far beyond their abilities as well as in many cases beyond our current abilities.
The cyclopean wall on the hill of the Pnyx in Athens, Greece is a great example of massive stones being moved into place like puzzle pieces for no meaningful purpose. The wall stands apart from most ancient Greek walls and most people shrug it off. It is truly an amazing fete of architecture and sits in a place of great importance in Greece that seems to show evidence of Greeks building around it in an ancient epoch.
The stones are similar to the polygonal stones we see in Peru and Bolivia as well as parts of Egypt and elsewhere.
Alongside the megalithic structures next door on Philopappos Hill and the astrologically aligned Parthenon close by as well as the countless legends of Zeus pertaining to the specific hill also known as the Hill Of The Muses and the legend of giants, this site is an important one to analyze with the idea of an ancient cataclysm, ancient civilizations and lost technology in mind.
It's also important to analyze the countless new megalithic discoveries around Greece predating the classical period by thousands of years that have come to people's attention in recent years like Dhaskalio and the Pyramid of Hellinikon near Argos. Not to mention Atlantis....
Stay tuned as we continue to explore these ancient sites and bring you information the textbooks won't even bother referring to as it contradicts popular stubborn knowledge.

The Evidence That The Lost City of Atlantis Existed?
I was lost, then I was found, you might hear some of the wonders of the world say if they could speak. We might look at perhaps the best known once-lost city in Machu Picchu, that was abandoned in the 16th century and discovered again in the 20th century. Then you have the spellbinding city of Angkor in Cambodia, which was never really lost, but certainly needed a lot of restoration for it to look as magnificent as it does today. We also have cities that are perhaps only legends, El Dorado, The Lost City of Gold; or The Lost City of Z, whose mystery lured explorers from Europe… and some never returned home. But today we’ll talk about perhaps greatest legend of them all, in this episode of the Infographics Show, The Evidence That The lost city of Atlantis Existed.
If we want to know the origins of the city of Atlantis we have to go back to the great, Greek ancient philosopher known as Plato. You’ve probably heard of the guy. Some writers have said all philosophy is just a footnote to Plato, while he’s the man that wrote the Socratic dialogues; he came up with The Cave allegory we still talk about today and he advanced ideas on justice, law, and learning that we all should be thankful for. With that in mind, if Plato was the one that started the story of Atlantis, perhaps we should take him seriously?
Well, while there are still people that believe Atlantis was real, most others, tell us Plato told that tale as an allegory, meaning the story had a hidden meaning in it. Plato said in 360 B.C. that these Atlanteans had a pretty good life. No doubt if such a thing existed back then, Atlantis would have come very high in standard of living indexes. The people that lived there were human, but also God-like, according to Plato. Where the island is, is actually widely debated, with some saying that the island, and surrounding islands, were just somewhere in the Mediterranean, and others saying near Spain, in the Pacific, the Caribbean or even close to Antarctica. The place is described as having one main island, with smaller islands surrounding it. It was a wonderful spot, too, where exotic wildlife not seen anywhere else wandered around, and where precious metals were plentiful. It was said living there was a Utopian existence, before Sir Thomas More wrote his book 'Utopia’ in 1516 and we started using that word to mean the apogee of human civilization. You get the picture, Atlantis was supposed to be perfect in every way. No one messed with the Atlanteans, either, because they had an impenetrable navy.

10. Milo of Croton
The Ancient Greeks invented progressive strength training. Milo of Croton won six Olympiads in the wrestling events. He also won multiple times at the Pythian Games, Isthmian Games, and Nemean Games. Milo loved to show off his strength and dexterity. According to sources, his favorite trick was to hold a pomegranate and have people try to take it from him. No one was strong enough to take the pomegranate from him and he also managed to not damage the fruit. How did he gain such prodigious strength and skill?
According to popular legend, Milo noticed a newborn calf near his home. He decided to lift the animal and carry it on his shoulders. He returned the next day and did it again. He did it every day until the calf grew to a four-year-old bull. Thus was progressive strength training born.
Here’s another wild athlete story. Theagenes of Thasos was a formidable fighter who won over 1,300 bouts over his two decade career. He even won a crown for long-distance running in the city of Argos. As a boxer, he was never defeated. According to legend, years after his, a vandal tried to deface a statue honoring Theagenes. The bronze statue broke in half and crushed the would-be criminal.
9. Birth Control by Sneezing
The Ancient Greeks had various forms of birth control. Some forms involved certain herbs and plants, which worked very well. However, one physician, Soranus, advised women to do something a little odd. After intercourse, women were told to squat and sneeze to avoid becoming pregnant. He also suggested jumping up and down to dislodge the sperm.
If that’s not crazy enough for you, the website Snopes.com was still debunking the “jump up and down” method of birth control as recently as 2007.
8. Brazen Bull
In the 6th century BC, a brass worker named Perilaus of Athens created a large, hollow bull made of brass and gave it to a ruler named Phalaris. A door on the side of the bull allowed a man to climb into the sculpture. Once the door was closed, a fire could be lit from underneath and slowly roast the person.
But it doesn’t end there. In the head of the bull was a series of stops and pipes that transformed the screams of the person into “the tenderest, most pathetic, most melodious of bellowings”. Phalaris was far from impressed. So disgusted by the piece, he asked Perilaus to climb into the bull and demonstrate the capabilities of the pipes. Once inside, Phalaris shut the door and ordered a fire lit beneath the bull. He reportedly said, “Receive the due reward of your wondrous art; let the music-maker be the first to play.”
Before Perilaus, they removed him from the bull and threw him off a cliff. Despite Phalaris’s disgust, the brazen bull became the most common form of in Ancient Greece.
Here’s an extra fact. Phalaris was a tyrant ruling in Acragas in Sicily from 570 BC to 554. He’s known for several building projects but he did have a cruel streak that made him the proverbial “evil tyrant”. According to legend, after he was overthrown by a general, the new ruler ordered Phalaris to roast inside the brazen bull.
7. Victorious Corpse
Did you know? Cheating was a huge problem in Ancient Greek sport, just like today. Most of the time, it was the usual bribery or foul moves during games. Here is a picture of a scene on a kylix depicting two pankratists fighting. One of them is trying to gouge out the eye of his opponent while simultaneously biting. The umpire is preparing to strike the fighter for the foul.
Some fighters would find an easier way and try to curse or hex their opponents using “curse tablets” to make them lose.
An event held during the Olympic Games was the pankration, which was a mixed martial arts style that blended boxing and wrestling. Most famous of the pankratists was Arrhachion. During the 54th Olympiad in 564 BC, Arrhachion entered the pankration to defend his championship. However, his opponent got the better of him and put Arrachion into a chokehold. It is said Arrhachion’s trainer shouted, “What a fine funeral if you do not submit at Olympia”. Arrhachion responded by twisting and kicking his opponent’s foot and dislocating it. The pain forced his opponent to surrender. Unfortunately, the move broke Arrhachion’s neck. Despite that, the judges named Arrhachion the victor. he successfully defended his title.
His fame spread as people held him up as the athletic ideal. Geographer Pausanias mentioned a statue immortalizing Arrhachion during his description of Phigalia

5. Greek Warrior Helmet
This mysterious finding dates back to 5th or 6th century BC and it’s not exactly the helmet itself that’s baffling archaeologists but where it was found and who wore it! This bronze Greek Phalanx helmet was found at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea but off the coast of Haifa, Israel! It was found by a Dutch dredging ship and it was handed off to the Israeli Antiquities Authorities for further examination. The helmet is in quite remarkable condition for something this old. Experts have two theories on why it was found near Israel. Some claim it was from a Greek mercenary who was paid to fight for the Egyptians. Others believe it was worn by a Greek soldier who was sent into battle against the Persians who ruled the area at the time. Greeks did have some influence in Israel but this helmet dates back a few centuries before that time.
4. Ancient Sea Travel
Ancient Greeks might have not only had the power to time travel but also to travel the seas at a much earlier date in time then we once thought. Thanks to this discovery found on the island of Crete, archaeologists can prove that sea travel took place at least 130,000 years ago. The previous known time people were able to trave l by boat was around 60,000 BC. Stone age tools like these axes were found in ancient shelters. They’re very similar to the tools used by our ancient ancestors known as the Homo Erectus. Since the island of Crete has been separated from the mainland of Greece for quite some time now, this leads archaeologists to believe that the only way settlers were able to get here was by some type of boat. How advanced were these boats they had, and what other places were discovered that we might not know about?
3. Spartan Palace?
You might be familiar with the ancient Spartans from the movie 300, where King Leonidas leads his small Spartan army into a gruesome battle but could archaeologists have found his palaces after all these years? Just a few miles south of the known location of Sparta near a small village, you can see where it was discovered. The building had around 10 rooms and was found filled with archaic inscription from the 17th to 16th centuries BC. They found a large variety of objects like 20 Bronze swords, and religious symbols. One of the cult like objects found at this possible palace, is this bull’s head cup that you see in this photo. If this is truly the palace of Spartan leader, we’d still be lucky to have some artifacts left over, since the palace was burnt to the ground in the 14th century BC. The Spartan civilization was one of the most important to live in Greece and it mysteriously disappeared around 1200 BC.
2. Ancient Greek Citadel
This was declared as one of Jerusalem's greatest archaeological mysteries and it has left many people completely puzzled! The legendary citadel known as the Acra was finally found underneath a parking lot in the center of Jerusalem! This fort was built by Emperor Antiochus the fourth and is finally proof that the Greeks had some influence in the holy town of Jerusalem. The dig site now plunges 3 stories below the surface of the earth and archaeologists search frantically for ruins and artifacts. The fort was later destroyed by Romans and the land near the ruins became a residential area. These sling stones and bronze arrowheads were found at the dig site, close to the old city walls of Jerusalem.
1. Ancient Warrior Tomb
US archaeologists claim to have made the most important discovery in Greece in 65 years. They came across a 7 foot tomb in 2015 that contain priceless relics from this remarkable civilization. The tomb contained the remains of a powerful ancient Greek warrior, whose tomb remained untouched for 3.5 thousand years. It’s almost like the Greek version of the tomb of King Tut since; the tomb was not grave robbed. The jewelry had a similar style to that of the Minoans, who flourished on the island of Crete. Here in this illustration, you see how the grave appeared before modern graverobbers got a hold of it. Priceless gold jewelry, as well as strings of pearls were discovered. It’s clear that this warrior was wealthy due to this ivory sword hilt that was found designed with what looks like a bull. What else might we uncover about this advanced, ancient civilisation?
Eros and Psyche Story (Complete) - Greek Mythology - Cupid and Psyche Myth #Mythology
Greek Mythology: The story of Eros and Psyche (Cupid and Psyche)
Wiki: Cupid and Psyche is a story originally from Metamorphoses, written in the 2nd century AD by Lucius Apuleius Madaurensis (or Platonicus). The tale concerns the overcoming of obstacles to the love between Psyche, Soul or Breath of Life and Cupid (Latin Cupido, Desire) or Amor (Love, Greek Eros ’′Ερως), and their ultimate union in a sacred marriage. Although the only extended narrative from antiquity is that of Apuleius, Eros and Psyche appear in Greek art as early as the 4th century BC. The story's Neoplatonic elements and allusions to mystery religions accommodate multiple interpretations, and it has been analyzed as an allegory and in light of folktale, Märchen or fairy tale, and myth.

In the jewel-bright Aegean Sea, a small Greek island holds an ancient mystery. 4,000 years ago, Dhaskalio was a promontory connected to its larger neighbor, the island of Keros. On this pyramid-shaped hill stood a sanctuary where visitors brought intentionally broken statues. A complex of buildings and terraces grew built with many tons of marble quarried on another island. Water conduits ran through the complex, advanced engineering for the age. In the 3rd millennium BC, Keros was becoming one of the Greece's first urban centers. But what made the sanctuary sacred in the first place is yet to be discovered.

10. It’s the Island of Santorini
A common view is that Atlantis was actually part of Santorini, a small island in the East Mediterranean that was partly-destroyed by the mighty Volcano of Thera in 1646 BC. Yeah, a looong time ago. Geologists have suggested that if you reconstruct the island of Santorini, you can see that this complete version, before it was destroyed by the volcano, used to be Plato’s mysterious island of legend!
9. The Black Sea
Some are happy to believe that Atlantis was just a made up story of legend. But others believe it was a real place. Not only that, but it was actually something else. The theory of Atlantis being located in the Black Sea region is a great example of this. It all centers on the rise of ocean levels following the last Ice Age.
8. Under Antarctica
Atlantis is usually believed to have somewhere warm, possibly around the Mediterranean, and you’d probably need your sunscreen (if it had been invented yet). However an American historian thought the truth was very different. And colder! Prof. Charles A Hapgood went on record in the 1950s as believing the mythical island was in fact, part of Antarctica.
7. Is It Based on Truth?
Atlantis is often portrayed as being the perfect society, a peaceful utopia that was very technologically advanced. However, if you look at where the legend started, in Plato’s dialogues written in 330 BC, he describes a place that is just like any other.
According to him, it was a technologically advanced society that was wealthy, and had a very powerful military but it was also corrupt. He claims that Atlantis battled against the city of Athens who came out the hero.
6. It was founded by Lemurians
An old idea about Atlantis is that it’s connected to the lost continent of Lemuria. Lemuria was believed to be located in the Indian or Pacific oceans but their continent sunk due to volcanic activity. They were beings who could travel between dimensions by altering the matter in their bodies. Plate tectonic theory and the existence of other continents strongly discount that this ever existed.
5. Lost in the Bermuda Triangle
Plato talks about how Atlantis was swallowed by the sea in a single day. Even so, you’d think that over the centuries someone would have stumbled on something concrete to prove the island existed right? Well this kind of happened in the late 1960s.
4. It’s in the Bahamas
If you’re in the United States then Atlantis may be closer than you think. To be more precise it could be 50 miles east of Miami! There lies the island of Bimini, part of a chain of islands in the Bahamas. Just 20 feet (6m) under the water there are some mysterious stones which could show the existence of Plato’s fabled kingdom.
3. Founded by Aliens
You know I couldn’t leave this theory out, since so many people out there actually believe this stuff, no thanks to Ancient Aliens on the History Channel! Supposedly aliens landed on our planet in its infancy and helped in the development of our ancient cultures, one of which was Atlantis.
2. It’s in Morocco
A German computer genius named Michael Hübner came up with a unique approach to finding Atlantis in 2008 when he gave a presentation at the Atlantis Conference in Athens. Others had taken an archaeological approach or used mysticism to locate Plato’s fantasy island.
1.Plato Made It Up
I’m sad to say that the most realistic theory is that Atlantis was made up by Plato, the Athenian philosopher who first told the world about it. Plato lived between 424-328 BC. The legendary island with an advanced civilization was described in his Dialogues titled ‘Timaeus’ and ‘Critias’ which were written around 330 BC.

25 Ancient Greek Cities that No Longer Exist or Are No Longer Greek
By taking a look at the world map today you would never believe that Greece, which is nothing but a small country, currently known as a beautiful tourist destination in southern Europe, had once dominated and colonized most parts of the then-known world. For those who love history though, Greece is without a doubt one of the most significant and influential nations of all time with amazing contributions to human culture including philosophy, various sciences, architecture, the Olympic Games, and democracy just to name the most prominent few.
The culture and spirit of Greece had once conquered major parts of modern Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa through the empires and colonies built by different Greek city-states notably Athens, Miletus, Ionia, Knossos, Corinth, and the kingdom of Macedon (not to be confused with the recently formed Slavic country in the Balkans). Here are 25 ancient Greek cities that occupied an astonishing 19 countries of the modern world.

Atlantis: The Lost Continent (Secret History Documentary)
Lost World of Atlantis Full Documentary HD
Atlantis (Ancient Greek: Ἀτλαντὶς νῆσος, island of Atlas) is a fictional island mentioned within an allegory on the hubris of nations in Plato's works Timaeus and Critias, where it represents the antagonist naval power that besieges Ancient Athens, the pseudo-historic embodiment of Plato's ideal state (see The Republic). In the story, Athens was able to repel the Atlantean attack, unlike any other nation of the (western) known world,[1] supposedly giving testament to the superiority of Plato's concept of a state.[2][3] At the end of the story, Atlantis eventually falls out of favor with the gods and famously submerges into the Atlantic Ocean.
Despite its minor importance in Plato's work, the Atlantis story has had a considerable impact on literature. The allegorical aspect of Atlantis was taken up in utopian works of several Renaissance writers, such as Bacon's New Atlantis and More's Utopia.[4] On the other hand, 19th-century amateur scholars misinterpreted Plato's account as historical tradition, most notably in Donnelly's Atlantis: The Antediluvian World. Plato's vague indications of the time of the events—more than 9,000 years before his day[5]—and the alleged location of Atlantis—beyond the Pillars of Hercules—has led to much pseudoscientific speculation.[6] As a consequence, Atlantis has become a byword for any and all supposed advanced prehistoric lost civilizations and continues to inspire contemporary fiction, from comic books to films.

The Acropolis of Athens in ancient Greece - Dimensions and proportions of Parthenon
This video contains a description of the monumental buildings in the Acropolis. Especially it has very interesting analysis of the proportions and optical refinements of The Parthenon.
This monumental work is a peripteral octostyle Doric temple on the Athenian Acropolis dedicated to the goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron.
Its construction began in 447 and was completed in 438 BC although decoration of the building continued until 432 BC.
It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece, considered the zenith of the Doric order.
The construction of The Parthenon, made almost entirely of white marble from Mount Penteli, was initiated by Pericles in thanks to the gods for his victory against the Persians. The architects in charge of the work were Ictino and Calicrates and were, in most cases, under the direction of the architect and great Athenian sculptor Phidias, author of the sculptural decoration and the great statue of Athena Parthenos which was located as the centerpiece of the temple (measuring forty feet high and for its elaboration 1,200 kg of gold were needed).
