This bazaar was renovated three years ago and is considered the nicest in the city thanks to its modern new design. Oloy Bozori is famous for its variety of goods sold, from the best fruit and nuts to silk products and clothing.

Uzbekistan STREET FOOD Tour of Chorsu Bazaar - Hasib, Honim & Norin | Tashkent, Uzbekistan
My whirlwind time in Tashkent, Uzbekistan continued with an unforgettable Uzbekistan street food tour of Chorsu Bazaar, where I tried incredible traditional dishes like hasib, honim, and norin. Come along with me on my exciting Uzbekistan street food market visit!

Bobur:
Chorsu Bazaar is the largest and oldest traditional bazaar in Tashkent. Inside the massive, domed complex, you can find vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, and vendors. There are also vendors outside selling street food, and a nearby market that sells crafts and silks.
We headed to the left, straight to the food. There was a small vegetable market, where I could see cucumber, peppers, tomatoes, and much more!
The street food was down some stairs and to the right. I could see people eating somsas and corn. The smell was incredible! I started with some lamb sausage made of intestines called hasib. It was super tender and was full of flavor! Then I tried some horse meat with cheese called norin. The horse meat was dense and gamy, but so tasty!
Next, I tried honim, which is like a dumpling made with tomatoes, chilies, and onion. We took some honim, norin, and hasib to a nearby table to eat in the communal dining hall. The hasib was down in a soup. The tender meat absorbed the flavor of the broth. I could tell it had never been frozen!
The homim was filled with potatoes and topped with onion. The flavor was similar to an Italian pasta. The dough was thin and you get lots of filling. The potatoes inside are thinly sliced. I served us some tea for my throat.
The narib was like a horse salad. The cheese was really nice and didn’t have a lot of flavor. Most of the flavor was in the horse meat. I loved the crunch of the onions.
Then, I went with the beef kebab, which is cooked in lamb fat. It was phenomenal! The combination of the two was insane. It’s one of the best kebabs I’ve ever had in my life! It had a bread crust. But the hasib was my favorite!
I woke up with no voice, but the green tea was helping!
The meal cost me about 56,000 som, or about $5 or $6 USD. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Next, we found some plov, which is the national dish. It’s a mix of rice, raisins, vegetables, peppers, egg, and beef.
The main section of the bazaar had lots of souvenirs like clothes, pottery, hand-painted plates, and more. Finally, we headed into the domed section of the complex. It was all meat and spices, as well as dried fruits, nuts, and spices. It felt like a massive stadium! The smell was amazing!
There were lamb, beef, horse, and chicken everywhere. The butcher taught me to chop some meat. Then I saw some huge horse sausage, a horse heart, and some huge beef liver. There were so many cuts of meat, as well as organ meat, cow bones, and more.
On the second floor were nuts, dried fruits, and spices. From there, I had an amazing view of the whole domed market. I tried a dried apricot, which I loved! It was like fruit chewing gum. Then, I tried a prune, which was very dense and dry. They’re dried in the shade, so they don’t lose all their moisture!
Next, I had a dried kiwi, which was the best kiwi ever. It was nice, moist, and dense. There were also platters of nuts and fruits. There were hundreds of vendors. Then, we visited the souvenir market.
We passed restaurants, fruits, and spices to get there. The aroma was unreal! We passed through a maze-like clothing market. Everything was super affordable.
The souvenir shop had lots of vests and figurines of old men. There were also beautiful traditional hats, leather boots, and more. I got a fruit bowl, a jewelry box for my niece, and a hat as a gift. What a day!

Sorry I been away for a while, but I am back!!!!!!!!!!!! 48 Hours in Tashkent is about an adventure I went on SHORT NOTICE to Tashkent, Uzbekistan for 48 Hours on November 22nd, 2019 to cover the Gorilla Fighting Championship ft Umar Nurmagomedov. This was the first ever MMA event in Uzbekistan history and was put on by the Uzbekistan MMA Association lead by Otabek Umarov. With Khabib Nurmagomedov and Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov being guests, along with their team of fighters from Dagestan at GFC20, I was fortunate to being able to come document this history. What I captured will be remembered forever. This is 48 hours in Tashkent

Americans CELEBRATE Uzbekistan's INDEPENDENCE DAY on Broadway Street | Tashkent, Uzbekistan
After I arrived back in Tashkent, I linked up with a handful of new friends who were still in the country after the World Influencers Congress to celebrate Uzbekistan’s Independence Day! Come along with us as we celebrate and party on Broadway Street in Tashkent!

After a whirlwind 12 days that had taken me all over Uzbekistan, I was finally back in its beautiful capital city. I had explored in-depth Khiva, Bukhara, and Samarkand with the World Influencers Congress, which had assembled 100 travel content creators from around the world so we could showcase the beauty, history, people, and wonders of this Central Asian nation.
Today was my final night in Uzbekistan, and the next day, September 1, was Uzbekistan’s Independence Day, which first occurred in 1991 after the Soviet Union fell on August 31.
I grabbed my Uzbek wine and headed off to meet with the handful of friends who were still in the country!
My friend Jordan and I started with some wine before my boys Joey, Gabriel, and Alex joined us. We toasted to Uzbekistan’s independence and discussed our future travel plans and then headed out to the Sultan Saray Family Restaurant. It’s a traditional restaurant next to our hotel.
We had some bread and some super fresh lamb, which was very farm to table. There were also some crispy potatoes. I loved how juicy and fatty the lamb was. We also has some dolmas and had a nice lamb chop. My friends also had a type of dumpling with meat inside.
After our meal, we came across a guy with some hookah. He generously shared some with me. Afterward, we headed over to Broadway Street. Gabriel hadn’t been there, but I had visited earlier in my trip. There, the celebrations began!
There was a stand where it costs 10,000 som to climb a ladder. The higher you get, the more money they give you. It’s super wobbly, though! Next up was a dart game where you try to burst balloons. Joey burst two and so did I. Gabriel got way more than us! He won a Spongebob plush. He gave it to a little boy nearby.
Broadway Street is where you go to have fun. There are games and lots of vendors. The vendors sell jewelry and little figurines. They also sell crafts including decorative plates, paintings, jewelry, and much more.
Next, we decided to have a glass of wine even though I had to get up in 5 hours. I wanted to have these experiences and live it up before my flight in the morning. I said good night to everyone, and Jordan gave me a bottle of wine. Then Joey and I headed up to the rooftop lounge. We wanted to open the wine because it was forbidden there, so we ordered some drinks instead.
Joey ordered a Moscow Mule and Alex just had water! I had a strong limoncello that they make in the hotel. I had the last glass!
Then, I said goodnight to Joey and headed back to my room. What an epic night! I love those guys and I loved this country!

Hi guys Sally here,
Not many know Uzbekistan is a country located in Central Asia, its new to the world of the tourism.
Originally I am Uzbek myself and I know that tourism just started to develop and now there are more and more tourists arriving for visit.
If you are visiting Uzbekistan for the first time, then my advice is to book everything through travel agency. Airport, transfers, tours with guides. Uzbekistan is not yet English friendly country and its a little bit complicated to travel on your own if you don't know Russian.
Not many places have English signs (very few). Not everyone speaks Russian.
To travel comfortably by cab download Yandex Taxi application, we do not have Uber.
If you still decided to visit Uzbekistan, especially Tashkent city (that's what video is about) on your own then this video with main city attractions is for you.
So far most popular tourist spots in Tashkent city are:
- City Center which starts with Amir Temur Square, Uzbekistan Hotel, Quranti, Broadway, Amir Temur Museum. All places are located near each other. And you can walk from one to another.
- Independence Square, Mourning Mother Monument, Eternal Fire
- Courage Monument
- Drujba Narodov or Friendship Square with Friendship Monument
- Old Town which has Khast Imam and Khazrati Imam complex, Kukeldash mosque
- Chorsu bazaar is one of the biggest bazaars in part of Old Town.

Uzbekistan Day 1: Tashkent
On Day 1 in Uzbekistan we went on an ultimate Uzbek street food tour in Tashkent, including the biggest bazaar in the city, and the most massive plov (rice pilau) cooking in Tashkent.
We had arrived at the airport in Tashkent at about 4 am in the morning, and at 9 am we were ready to start eating our way through the city.
First we met up with Bekruz and Akbar both from the Ministry of Tourism Uzbekistan (Bekruz is the one who invited me to Uzbekistan and arranged everything for us, so thank you Bekruz!), and Ravshan (check out his channel: a local food vlogger in Uzbekistan.
Two of the most important phrases you should know in Uzbek are:
Assalomu Alaykum - Hello / Greeting
Rahmat - Thank you
Bread Bazaar, Tashkent - We started this ultimate street food tour at the bread bazaar in Tashkent, a market dedicated fully to bread, with a little fruit and other things mixed in. We bought some break, some kaymak, and some fruit and then went to a nearby restaurant where they laid everything on the table for us, along with tea. Uzbek breakfast was a great way to get started.
Chorsu Bazaar - The grandest bazaar in Tashkent is Chorus Bazaar, and it’s a perfect place to get a feel of Uzbek culture and food. We first stopped at the food court to try hanum, a type of dumpling filled with potato and somsa. Then we continued to the dome shaped iconic part of the bazaar, filled with fresh meat and spices. It’s one of the coolest market structures anywhere in the world.
Plov Center - We kind of had to rush out of Chorsu Bazaar because although they prepare 1,500 Kilos, seriously, of rice plov per day, it only takes 2 - 3 hours before they run out everyday. So we got there, already one of the monster swimming pool pans was finished, but they still had a few others going and serving. Plov is the national dish of Uzbekistan, a food that’s eaten on every and all occasions. For Tashkent plov, it’s pretty heavy on the meat at oil, with rice, chickpeas, and raisins. Also it included, qazi - horsemeat sausage which is a delicacy. It was incredibly delicious, and proper meal experience.
Total price - 100,000 UZS ($12.21)
Plov is love, remember that when you’re in Uzbekistan.
National Food Restaurant - After strolling around for a while in the afternoon, we continued to a National Food restaurant, a laid back family style restaurant that serves all things Uzbek food. Along with a number of dishes, the main dish I was most interested in was the naryn, thin slices of dough mixed with minced meat and horse. It was interesting, and quite good, as were the other dishes.
Total price - 110,000 UZS ($13.43)
Sultan Suleyman Restaurant - For dinner we went to a bit of a fancy trendy restaurant, and had another platter of food. This time, dough noodle like sheets topped with meat, horse sausage again, and green onions.
Total price - 122,000 UZS ($14.90)

UZBEKISTAN AIRWAYS Economy Class REVIEW | New York City to Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Back in August of 2019, I had the unbelievable opportunity to visit the Central Asian country of Uzbekistan as part of the World Influencers Congress. I had an unbelievable time there and fell in love with the country’s unique food, history, and culture. But first, I had to get there! Come along with me as I fly to the capital of Tashkent and give my Uzbekistan Airways economy class review along the way!

Uzbekistan would be my 74th country and I was so excited. I started my journey in Queens, New York City. My cousin Alex joined me on my way to JFK Airport. There, I’d catch my 12.5-hour flight on Uzbekistan Airways’ Dreamliner. I arrived at Terminal 2, but that was the wrong terminal, so I headed over to Terminal 4. I had 2 hours before takeoff. I needed to check in. It didn’t look too full, but it took 90 minutes to get through security.
There would be 30 people from the conference on the flight. An hour into the flight, I enjoyed some Uzbekistan wine and some peanuts. They also gave me some slippers! We had some movies to watch and I couldn’t wait to have some Uzbekistan food.
I met a guy from Samarkand, Uzbekistan in my row. We wanted to watch a movie, but some of the plane’s screens didn’t have all the movies. So I drank instead and had a delicious meal of beef, rice, ham, bread, tomatoes, and a cake. The beef had a nice, rich sauce with olives. It didn’t have too many spices but was super tender! Then the flight attendant offered me some chicken!
The chicken came with penne pasta. The pasta had some oil and herbs on it and was nice and filling. The chicken was almost like a chicken parmesan with mushrooms and was really creamy. It tasted really fresh! The sauce was great mixed with the pasta. With two meals down, I was full. I was already loving the Uzbek hospitality.
Eight hours in, we were flying over the Atlantic near Iceland. We still had a ways to go. The flight attendants were giving me lots of alcohol and telling me about sites I should visit! I slept eight hours straight and had some chicken, rice, carrots, and broccoli. The chicken had a nice, glazy sauce and was super delicious!
The flight attendant gave me some amazing beef as well! The friendliness and hospitality was unreal! The beef looked really good and came with rice, sauce, and vegetables. It was super tender and the vegetables were really nice! My neighbor from Tajikistan joked that I was snoring while I was sleeping!
We were flying over Kazakhstan and were preparing to land in Tashkent. There was a lot of desert out my window. The friendliness and hospitality was already off the charts! At first, they told me I couldn’t film, but then they warmed up and let me do it!
At the airport, it took forever to get our bags, SIM cards, and passports. I got in a cab with Traveling Jules. I learned how to say good morning in Uzbek. I was loving Uzbekistan. It felt like Moscow. The streets were wide and there were lots of Soviet-style buildings. It was also 100 degrees!
We were staying at the Hyatt Regency in Tashkent. I would be on the sixth floor in a really nice room, Room 618. I had two twin beds, a desk, a chic bathroom, and a view of the building. I couldn’t wait to explore my 74th country!

WORLD'S COOLEST METRO SYSTEM!!! - Things to Do in Tashkent, Uzbekistan
The capital city of Uzbekistan often gets overlooked for its more historic neighbours in Samarkand and Bukhara, but honestly there are so many amazing things to do in Tashkent that it's well worth spending a few days here!
On my most recent visit I had the chance to some of the city's most iconic spots, like the big bazaar, ancient mosques and even the place that holds the oldest Quran in the world. But surprisingly that's not the main Tashkent attraction here.
What makes Tashkent so famous is the elaborate metro stations that navigate their way around the entire city. These are decorated with intricate tile work that really needs to be seen to be believed. There's even one dedicated to Soviet space exploration!

Tashkent is the most important city of Uzbekistan because this city is the capital, the administrative center of the Republic and a very unique place where ancient East and modernity are the best neighbors. Tashkent is a prosperous metropolis, which population (more than 3 million people) growing with every day. This city has changed the most around all of the other cities of Uzbekistan because of its special status of capital.
Tashkent is undoubtedly an oriental city, but at the same time, it soaked features of different epochs. The form of Tashkent changes depending on the angle you’re looking from: you can see very ancient and legendary buildings with blue domes like in the oriental fairy-tale; you can travel back to the times of Turkestan governor-generalship with its full of Europe elegancy buildings; you will see standard a little bit boring architecture of the Soviet period and gorgeous building of Navoi Theater built the same time.
