2. SOUNDBITE (Japanese) Takafumi Nakano, university student:
For me, 'hanami' (flower-watching) is a tradition. It gives us the opportunity to get together with everyone, to talk and enjoy. It's a very big event for everyone, to have drinks and celebrate.
3. SOUNDBITE (Japanese) Tan Shi, university student:
For a long time, cherry blossoms reminded me of difficult times. After I was accepted (into university), I remember celebrating with my schoolmates under the cherry blossoms and finally being able to enjoy it. It's a love-hate relationship with cherry blossoms.
4. Various of people taking photos
5. SOUNDBITE (Mandarin): Liu Xiaoli, language student:
It's very nice. In China we don't have this kind of custom - for all of us to eat together outside and enjoy the flowers at the same time, so it's very nice. (Japanese) It feels very nice.

STORYLINE:
Hundreds of people joined together to celebrate the start of spring under Tokyo's cherry blossom trees on Monday, as the Japanese capital reached peak bloom.
At Ueno Park, students, families and businessmen alike took time out from their work day to feast and celebrate together, following an age-old Japanese tradition.
The park boasts 800 cherry blossom trees with more than 50 varieties, attracting millions of visitors each year.
Among the most popular cherry blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese, are the pastel pink somei yoshino, and the willowing shidare.
Japan's Meteorological Agency marked Tokyo's full bloom on Sunday, but the optimal viewing period lasts little more than a week before the petals start to fall away.
For many in Japan, the hanami flower viewing season is also a reminder of new beginnings - a new school year and a new fiscal year.
University sophomore Takafumi Nakano says he marks the start of each school year by celebrating with his classmates.
For some, the short-lived petals offer a different memory.
Tan Shi, who studies Japanese painting, says cherry blossoms remind her of the fierce competition and years of studying that were required before she was eventually admitted into art school.
Cherry blossoms across Japan are expected to reach full bloom in the coming weeks.

Shinjuku’s Best Kept Secret | Sakura
While the cherry blossoms were still here, I ventured out to somewhere I’ve never been before. Even though it was right in my neighborhood, I had never been to Hakone Yama the whole time I’ve been in Shinjuku!
Hakone Yama is a small hill that over looks some beautiful cherry trees! It’s quite, peaceful, and did I mention haunted? Lol! But really, it is so gorgeous there! This is definitely a place I’d like to have a hanami next year!
Do you know any other interesting hidden gems in Tokyo? I would love to here them!
P.S. The giveaway winners have been chosen and will be announced in the next video!
Stay tuned because the next video will be up in a few days!

Festival in Anime District, Akihabara, Tokyo / Kanda Matsuri
Click here to see what Akihabara is like on usual weekends!
Kanda Matsuri, or Kanda Festival, is one of Tokyo's Three Greatest Festivals. It takes place in mid May every two years at Kanda Myojin Shrine. It is located right next to the world's largest anime and otaku district Akihabara. The highlights of this week-long festival are a day-long procession through central Tokyo and parades of mikoshi, or portable shrines. The contrast between the modern city and traditional parades is quite spectacular.
