Bathurst Motor Racing Museum | National Motor Museum
The National Motor Racing Museum is located in the regional New South Wales city of Bathurst, approximately 200 km west of Sydney at the iconic Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit.
It is a must for any motor racing and car enthusiast.
The National Motor Racing Museum celebrates the history, personalities and achievements of Australian Motor Sports.
Featuring motor cars from the likes of Peter Brock, Jack Brabham, Allan Moffatt, Larry Perkins, John Goss, Allan Grice, Harry Firth, Mark Skaife and Craig Lowndes, as well as an array of motorcycles, including the likes of Wayne Gardner.

What a crazy day! We did a lap of Mount Panorama then stopped in at the Museum to see all of Australia's most famous race cars! I saw a motorbike that is over 100 years old!!! And all of Peter Brocks facing cars. Lots of great history here.

Four Fords - Four Bathurst Winners
What a treat it was to spend the day at the National Motor Racing Museum at Bathurst. There are over 110 cars and motorcycles on display - Cortina's, Torana's, Commodores, Falcons, Mustangs, BMW's, Mini's and more. An original Isuzu Bellet - believed to be the oldest un-restored Bathurst competitor is on display too - but the first car to catch my eye was the 1977 XC Ford Coupe that led the 1-2 Victory - the car being generously donated to the museum by Allan Moffat. Even though I was a Holden Guy, I remember watching that race willing the Number #1 Moffat car to get across the finish line. It was getting slower and slower as the race neared the end - and soon Colin Bond in the number #2 car came alongside. Would he snatch victory - or give his team boss the honours? That finish, to my mind, was the greatest victory in Bathurst history. But that call could be deemed contentious, given there have been so many wonderful finishes at Mount Panorama. The machinery on display evoked so many wonderful memories - the all conquering Mini Cooper S for example, the Brock Torana's and even the VB Commodore that completed the arduous Repco Around Australia Trial. A visit to the museum should be on every motoring enthusiasts bucket list.
